although it's off-topic let me quickly adress something that people don't realise when they suggest federal factions -

if we get one federal faction, we need at least five more and that's also why they can't happen
 

we get FBI, we need US attorney generals to prosecute, we need US marshals to act as bailiffs in court, we need US circuit judges instead of state judges, and we need the bureau of prisons instead of SADCR if they're incarcerated on federal crimes 

 

food for thought + more reason why we dont need em

Above all else in terms of legal factions, I think this is the most important one.

gotta see some white doors... idm if it costs us parks or sfm, or even both. bringing SoCal vibes (no, neither parks nor sfm gives me that) into the server is essential, and this might just contribute to that a bit

LC from day one had amazing NYC vibes. LS has little to no LA vibes. And a lot of that is our faction set up. LSSD, SADCR, LSPD METRO, LSFD (in the last year) all give me LA vibes and make the server just a little more SoCal. While the factions to our north would fit more in say, northern california or east cali.

As a Californian, there is no denying that CHP is something we're all familiar with. Those white doors strike fear into every commuter on their way to or from work, lol. It would be a step in the right direction to make the server feel more like Cali.

It would be unique to see them do DOT inspections on CDL-required vehicles & patrol the highways, but other than that I feel they'd be useless. It'd be cooler to see IRS, which I thought was going to happen due to the reworks of the $$/banking script.

How do you propose this is going to work? If you want to put a realistic spin on this concept, you're going to need something to enforce. Are we going to have every character file their taxes? That might be a bit extreme of an argument, but either way you're going to need to be able to determine that an action is a financial crime. How can you make this practical? I'm curious how people are imagining this.

AFAIK they have RPed federal agencies like ICE and FBI but it’s only for a specific arrest and then they move on. That’s probably best.
