Seatbelt to stop ejections!

Detailed Description

Straightforward. We need a command like /seatbelt (can have a short form like /sb or even a hotkey) to buckle our chars and stop ejections from vehicles.

 

92% of americans use their seatbelt. That means that 92% of people will NEVER get ejected from their vehicles through the windshields causing a gruesome death.

 

However in GTAW, it is impossible to avoid getting ejected and dying. Could we get a command to stop ejections? I think this is not the first time this is suggested but last time was a long time ago.

/seatbelt (/sb)  with automatic /ame

 

Hotkey for it?

 

Can add a /checkseatbelt to add some more depth to traffic stops, but this is not the main point

 

How will it benefit the server?

 

More realistic traffic collisions. Less random corpses around cause people got ejected through their windshield.

 

It would also bring more consequences for terrible driving. Most ejections occur during pursuits, and when they happen, the guy who was unrealistically driving gets to PK out of the situation with no consequence, jail time... and no, no one will issue a CK for that.

I was actually thinking about suggesting a /seatbelt command a few days ago. You know how you take damage when you crash as well? Maybe a seatbelt can reduce said damage by half or negate it completely.

I see you, but I don't even want to get into that or have the suggestion derailed with things that make it more complicated and more likely to be denied.

 

I just don't want to see people flying outta windshields anymore.

+1 for a seatbelt command. I RP a seatbelt often just for the sake of it. Would be nice if this was an actual option.

if ur not wearing a setbelt during a traffic stop u can get fined, good for LEO rp as well

i mean it happens irl and if seatbelts are a thing then it would make sense to fine players for that. I think there could be a thing on the speedometer that shows you if ur wearing your seatbelt or not. Just like how you can see if your car is unlocked or locked.

IRL though, we have muscle memory, audio/visual reminders, not to mention physical sensations when you drive. All of that is missing

yeah im new here, but one of the things I hate on other servers is the seatbelt thing. people put their seatbelt on and then suddenly it's okay to crash in a car going 250 MPH, flying through the window makes people drive a little more critically. -1 from me
