The new LFM directive and benefit of the doubt

I think this takes a lot of the quality control ability out of SADCR's hands, which is probably going to lead to a slew of down the stream effects. People in prison will once again be forced to roleplay around trolls, and take what what they're doing seriously in an IC capacity. It'll give them the inability to prevent or reconcile poor RP from certain CO's, and maintain quality control over the concept. The idea of the directive is not bad, I do think that faction standards should align with server rules, but the idea that common courtesy, benefit of the doubt, voiding situations between consenting parties, is breaking the rules seems silly to me.

What we'll likely see in prison as a result of this if the ruling isn't changed and elaborated on is an increase in the amount of lockdowns we have, which kill RP for hours if not days at a time, all because COs have to treat silly trolls exactly the same as serious situations. As well as constant OOC arguments over mis-readings, or accidental mind-slips when it comes to cell-stash info. Earlier today my cellinfo was misread which led to minutes of RPing that I'd heroin on me when I did not. Which easily could have escalated into a shakedown and negative IC consequences for my character.

For LFM I have genuine question in relation to that. Do we now have to call an admin to come and void the situation, or are we as players allowed to accept that someone made a mistake and void the situation to rectify it? If its the first its going to put burden on admins, and build animosity between the playerbase and them further. All over situations nobody are reporting, and nobody in the playerbase beside LFM seem to have an issue with.

+1. all the things that needed to be said have already been said by the users in this thread, and they essentially turned LEOs with even the slightest bit of character into robocops because play to win lol

I am removing troll / insulting posts. I politely ask everyone here to use their words in a respectful manner until a LFM member can respond. I've forwarded the thread on.

Thank you for clarifying. It is a serious topic which we are addressing.

The directive needs to be changed for sure. We don't need anything that forces people into robocopism or stain historically tense relations between cops and criminals.

When major changes like this happen, I think its important for LFM to be transparent as to why. The majority of LFM directives seem to just get posted without much of an explanation. Sure you could say "Go ask your faction leadership" but I'd rather hear it from the people who approved such a thing to begin with.

Hello folks. Sebz from LFM here. We hear your concerns and are actively reviewing the feedback left in this thread. I've witnessed some childish responses and memes that were not constructive which had to be removed. Please by all means continue to discuss this constructively, but if the conversation cannot be constructive this thread will be locked.

LFM will continue to review the messages in this thread for the time being and may respond at a later time with a conclusion in regards to the matter at hand.

It's good to see feedback being taken on board. People are always going to meme and not take things seriously but there's plenty of very constructive posts on here. I think we should be thankful you were the one brave enough to jump into this shark tank while it was a its worst.

I think clarifying the reasoning behind this decision would help in furthering a healthy debate if you are able to provide this.

Suppose someone is roleplaying throwing their firearm during a vehicle pursuit or foot bail, and they cannot unequip it or remove it off their character for whatever reason... By the current directive, it seems like we have to abide by "what's on you, it's on you".

As someone who is roleplaying in law enforcement? I can guarantee this is something none of us want.

This type of mentality should be left where it was placed back in 2015/16.

This directive needs to be scrapped and tossed in the bin, quite honestly it's as simple as that, saying it how it is. Idk who thought this would be a good idea, all it does it destroy hard work from LEO factions trying to bring the legal-illegal community together, instead this pushes them further away.

I've been leadership of both unofficial and official factions on here, held drug schemes, even held drug supplier, I know how it is first hand from the illegal RPer mindset. But I'm also currently a LEO rper too and I know the feeling from both sides of the spectrum, contrary to belief LEO rpers want to work with illegal rpers, but this directive doesn't help that; it further insulates everything from everything and pushes the two communities further away.

This should be reversed as quickly as it was implemented, it's definitely one of the worst decisions made by LFM in its entirety of existence on this server. (This isn't bashing either, it's me saying it how it is, simply just my opinion, I don't hate to hate, but this decision was not it)
