There are other ways to increase costs without making things like registration and insurance more unrealistic in favor of removing something else that isn't realistic.

 

Actual things that can increase costs and actually generate roleplay for others:

• Scaled vehicle maintenance.
• Having to buy products for basic maintenance from stores. That would make hardware stores useful. 
• Dynamic gas rates for different cars or requiring different kinds of gas for different cars.
• Creating new forms of maintenance in other areas that actually circulate to other players. This supports companies that create jobs and roleplay for other players. People just spending less money on other areas to support their lifestyle does not create roleplay. It makes people more tight on buying other services because scripted ones are all that matter for most including many of those that take stances on discord over this topic.

 

Registration fees are already moronic as is. 20% of the vehicle's cost. The money yet again goes somewhere where it's going to sit and not go toward supporting roleplay jobs outside of PD, GOV, FD. Changing names isn't an actual change.
