Profit Prophet
Short description: You actually pay consequences for not paying taxes. Detailed description: So, the issue is. Most people don't care to pay their vehicle taxes, because you never get pulled over without a reason any way. Cops can't pull you over if they have no suspicion or won't do routine traffic stops (I'm not sure about the law but pretty sure they need some type of actual suspicion?). So most people get away with not paying their taxes for a long time. Realistically, you'd get several warnings, with an added procession fee slapped ontop twice or thrice, before they'd come to your doorstep. So, since there's barely any consequences for this. I'd say, to increase realism, You have 2 days after logging in the first time since payments is due to pay. Failure to do so, slaps another 50% ontop. Then after another 3 days another 50% ontop of the original price. Then, after a full 7 days since the first log in/due date, the vehicle will automatically get impounded and you pay the 200% fee plus impound costs to pay to get your vehicle back. Once that's paid at a DMV/Police station, anywhere where you can pay a vehicle/fine, you can retrieve your vehicle from impound lot. Commands to add: None. Lucky you, Westen. Items to add: None How would your suggestion improve the server? Less bartenders, and people with no realistic way to fund an expensive vehicle will actually drive a sports or vehicle that doesn't fit to their financial state. Makes cars a bit more realistic to maintain. Additional information: This will probably get hate because it increases prices lol Link to comment
Westen
Per the penal code: 102. Can also apply in occasions when licensed activities are performed without a license and subsequent operation denies significant taxes to the State/City Quote Shall be liable under a Class C offense only, and shall receive a minimum of 2 Days, and a fine under the following criteria of offense count; $2,500 $3,000 $5,000 + Impounding of Vehicle If offense is continued, punishment shall revert back to third offense and continue to be issued. Profit Prophet
Yeah but still. The PD won't pull you over for absolutely no reason so most people get away with the offence which I deem as unrealistic, simply due to the fact they'd pursue you through various amounts of letters, asking for you to pay. Guest
Same thing with the fines. Have one from last August. But it has always been a problem, in LSRP I had unpaid parking tickets for 5 years. Nobody really checks them. Cops won't check the database because its bugged, they are lazy or they just don't wanna be the "bad guy" who takes precious money away from people. There should be more OOC and IC enforcement of both tax and fines. Edited April 17, 2019 by Guest Link to comment
Profit Prophet
Yeah and it is IC. But the problem here is that we are fictional characters who suddenly dissapear off the earth. We don't get letters home, the PD or state cannot pursue us when we're not online or doing somethin suspicious. Realistically, you'd never get away with this. Link to comment
cabotage
I agree with this, I do think it should be enforced more and even have a bigger fine related to it. Link to comment
cracked
Nah, people hide their cars and live their entire lives not paying taxes on vehicles in some cases. -Support Link to comment
Profit Prophet
Yeah and the 1% that manages to hide their vehicles their entire lives can easily /report and talk to an admin about how they do it. I doubt it's a good reason to not implement a system because a very small minority wouldn't fit to it. Link to comment
Velora
No thanks. There's already fines in place for this exact thing. Let the PD do PD things. Having an Automatic system actually just removes their RP. Edited April 18, 2019 by Velora Link to comment
