Why (or should) can the death penalty be handed to a character that PLAYER-KILLED Officers?

I believe that the newly begun death penalty is being used in all of the wrong ways

 

 

this case is the cut and dry thing that lead me to believe that and it all begins with @Quincy's character.

 

why is a character facing the death penalty if the police he killed aren't forced to character-kill and meet the same consequences? I would like if somebody from LFM or the admin team can shed some light or context onto this and I would also like to how how others feel about this specific topic. Do you guys believe that any gang-member that gets into a shootout with police should be now eligible to lose his entire character and development but the cops get to respawn and interact with the same gang faction again? Cause I personally think that it remove a lot of weight from the situation and makes the roleplay less meaningful. 

 

i know that Demaine Jopp doesn't care to face these consequences In-Character and neither does the faction (Harvard Park) but the roleplay feels so hindered when the reason one member of the faction is going to be cked is because of a bunch of cops that we will see again.

this ain't a do the crime do the time scenario. The time is perfectly fine...prison rp is at it's peak rn. The problem is that this means anybody can be CKed if the PK more then one cop. I personally believe death penalties should only be used in extreme character kill situation starting off like this for the SECOND death penalty given is gonna give a bad rep

If a character faces a death penalty the Cops should 100% get CK'd aswell, and there's literally no argument about why they shouldn't be CK'd. 

I've heard from other people that if a cop gets CK'd he barely loses anything lol and he can just namechange and RP a new cop again(?). Not sure if this is true though. But Death Penalty's should be CK's on both sides, I can already see that every time a gang member murders a cop, he's gonna get hit with a Death Penalty immediately, and the cop gets away with it lol.
