    New Money

This thread is a showcase of roleplay, we'll be documenting our character's development as they attempt to grow the money tree and form a legal empire. Whilst our roleplay is primarily revolved around legal enterprise, the two primary characters concerned in this showcase are from criminal backgrounds and maintain highly illegal connections. The thread starts as the characters enter the later parts of their young adult life. Chris Tamati @jany - Past - Tamati was born in South Central Los Santos during the late nineties, his father was a Hawaiian native involved in international weapons trafficking and prostitution rings through an organized crime ring based in Hawaii's capital, Honolulu. His mother was a Turkish-born immigrant in Los Santos. Through his father, Chris is related to a ranking member of the Morningwood-based organized street gang Island Pride - Ana Kekoa. On his and mother's side he is related to Abdirahim Burhaan, an established Los Santos businessman and jeweller with connections to the Turkish Mafia in Liberty City. Due to the lucrative involvement his father had in high-level crime, Chris grew up for the most part comfortable and excelled throughout school. He moved to Morningwood in Middle School, loosely associating with his cousin and her friends which at the time was a relatively new street crew comprising of members from a Pacific Islander / Polynesian background. Not long into his Freshman year of high school, Chris and three accomplices where involved in a home invasion which went south. After trying to escape through a small window, Chris was shot in the back of the leg - he just about managed to return home, where his father found him and took him to the emergency room. Following the incident, Chris' father began to treat him entirely different - he enforced an half an hour after-school curfew and forced Chris to stay inside and study. During this period of seclusion, an adolescent Tamati began to build up a rebellious attitude. He began to develop a stubborn, deceiving attitude - an attitude that is still seen today. Before long Tamati was sneaking out of his house and mixing with his gang - selling narcotics and robbing other small teenage drug dealers, spiralling deep into a life of crime. In early 2015, Chris and three other associated broke into a large family home on the outskirts of Los Santos, they got away with over $7000 worth of goods and escaped in an Obey I-Wagen was was parked in the drive-way. An hour later they where apprehended by the LSPD at a gas station, Chris was a minor at the time and was sentenced lightly - he plead guilty and was released from the Twins four months later. After missing graduation and returning to freedom, his parents forced Chris to leave the family home and move in with relatives in the State of Liberty, he began working as a chef in a local restaurant. A few months later, Chris had made contact with his cousin from his mother's side - a well-known affluent businessman and commercial property mogul. Chris began to work for his cousin, shadowing him and learning exactly how to do his job. Chris stayed in Liberty City for 7 years until he was 25, he was making $350,000 a year ((Month)) working for his cousin. Chris' other cousin, the same cousin's younger brother - Abdirahim lived in Los Santos and owned a jewellery store. Seven years detached from his family and friends began to play a toll on Chris and so he decided to move back to Los Santos with what he had in order to work with his cousin. By now he had obtained all of his certifications and was licensed to operate a real estate agency, bringing back with him extensive knowledge in the property market and a healthy pot of savings - the sky is the limit. - Present - discord: janicethe7th
  2. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, 45,105 Turkish people live in San Andreas. In San Andreas there are over 10 Turkish-American non-profit/not-for-profit organizations including active sister-city organizations such as Friends of Merzifon, Turkish American Associations of San Andreas (TAASA), American Turkish Associations of Southern San Andreas (ATASSA), Turkish American Business Connections (TABC), Los Santos Turkish American Associations (LSTAA), San Fierro Turkish American Associations (SFTAA), Friends of Anatolia are the first ones that come to mind, some of which are operating with active chapters in different geographic locations as well. The greatest number of the population have settled in Los Santos. Despite the small number of people living in Los Santos, the fact that most Turks choose to live close to each other due to cultural reasons causes the community to seem larger than it is. Therefore, it is possible to see a Turkish butcher and a Turkish hookah cafe on the same street. Vespucci Turkish Community plays a minor role in the Los Santos crime scene in the name of population and activity. Since they are a small group, most of the operations they deal with are small and simple. Prostitution, credit card fraud and small time drug trafficking is the main source of income for the gang. OOC - Aim of this group is to portray realistic lifestyle of a small-sized Turkish-American community that lives in Vespucci, Los Santos. Group will be a closed circle for a while, so there'll be no invitations. Contact @ciano- for any concerns or questions.
  3. After Erdal’s sister Leila’s marriage with a Northern Turkish guy he doesn’t approve, his family ties began to ramble as he gets more concentrated on his endeavors with life-long partner in crime Halit. Erdal and his brother-in law Rasit started to get along as time passes, but that was not a bond strong enough to involve him is his extra-curricular activities, probably never be. Finally making use of his hefty look and leaving aside his good manners, alongside with Halit they managed to extort a shop in Vespucci and started their so called /oriental massage parlor/. The wealthy wet dream they had, bucking bread with happy ending messages, didn’t last long against the high tax rates and lack of knowledge on business management they had. Erdal tried to extra-out by doing some stake out jobs for local mobsters, but immediately lost the fresh loots to thieves around Vespucci. Not soon he realizes keeping his financial standing straight as a Turk is not going to be easy, he thought of moving his entrepreneurship spirit away from the city. Not long after that, he met with a fellow fisherman, while tugging for the perfect Raki* fish around Sandy Shores, he bought his trailer with last of his money and plotted to grow grass in it. Besides the joy he felt from the isolated exile he puts himself to, being away from his family and their traditionally binding issues was a big relief. The money from selling his family house in Vespucci combined with financial and muscle aids from his friends Halit and Deniz, he managed to turn his rusty trailer into a growing zone. Now, he tries to blend in with the locals of Sandy and strike as a humble big guy, he also seeks ways to distribute his product and earn enough cash to… Well, mainly to buy more imported Raki* and upgrade his livelihood standards from the trailer couch. *Raki is the national alcoholic drink of Turkey made of twice-distilled grapes. Often served with seafood or appetisers, this drink which contains anise is the Turkish go-to drink when you're in grief or feeling sorrow. Magically turns into white when mixed with water, it's sharp notation leaves a delicious taste on the palate, alongside with a superior buzz in your head.

  6. In Turkey, there are two main reigons where organized crime most associated: the Trabzon region (in Northen Turkey / Black sea) and the Southeastern Anatolia region. Ethnic Turkish criminals are mostly linked with the Trabzon clans. A Turkish friend of mine says that Turks refer to people from the Trabzon as "Laz" after the Georgian tribe who lived in the area. Today, the vast majority of "Laz" would already describe themselves as Turkish. Trabzon has several criminal clans located in cities such as Rize, Sürmene and Of. Black Sea crime families have a presence in Europe, mainly in the Netherlands, Belguim, Germany, Austria. The aforementioned place, although a small village, is home to perhaps the most powerful of the Black Sea crime families called the "Oflu Clan". İsmail Hacısüleymanoğlu became their 'godfather'. In the 90s, the Oflu Clan controlled a significant part of the heroin trade in Amsterdam and was involved in other racketeering activities in the local Turkish community. On the other hand, the clans from the Southeastern Anatolia region are predominantly Kurds. Many major crime families operate from the area. The most famous is the Baybasin Clan, but there are other families such as Aksoy, Aydınlı, Cantürk, Güven, Kocakaya, Koylan, Özdemir, Polat, Uğur, Toprak, Yildirim, Demir, Konuk, Kaya, Senar. As with Trabzon based criminal groups, many of these Kurdish clans are also active in the Netherlands, Germany and the United Kingdom. When you do a study of Turkish organised crime in London, you will find that the vast majority of the infamous North London Turkish crime families are actually linked to clans from south-eastern Anatolia and are actually Kurds. Turkish mafia is a general term for criminal organizations located in Turkey or consisting of (former) Turkish citizens. Criminal groups with origins in Turkey are less active in Western Europe (where there is a strong Turkish immigrant community) and the Middle east. Turkish criminal groups arealso involved in a wide range of criminal activites internationally, most notably drug trafficking, especially heroin. In heroin trafficking, they were collaborating with Bulgarian mafia groups, which transported heroin further to countries such as Italy. other drug trafficking, illegal gambling, human trafficking, prostitution, criminal activities such as extortion, as well as Turkey, Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium, and the United Kingdom with major European countries such as Albania, carried out in a Turkish community. Turkish gangs and mafias also cooperate with some Laz, Zaza and Kurdish gangs. Several Turkish mafias also accept non Turkish members. Some Turkish criminal syndicates originated in two known regions around the world: Los Santos and San Fierro, located on the south coast of Western America. The arrival of Erkan Devrim from Turkey to Los Santos Erkan's Turkish Crime Network (Also known as Devrim's Crime Network) emerged in the city of Trabzon in 1974 under the leadership of İsmail (Kaptan) Devrim. The Criminal Organization has continued to function until today. Known activities disclosed by the Turkish government: usury, prostitution, arms trade and assaults. In 1984, İsmail Devrim made an agreement with the Bulgarian mafia and started the arms trade within the borders of Turkey. Today, the Turkey and Middle East branch of the criminal network is managed by Ugur Devrim. These countries are known as Azerbaijan, Georgia, Palestine and Syria. Erkan Devrim was born in 1989 in Trabzon, Turkey. In 2009, he traveled to the United States at the request of his brother Ugur to conclude a trade agreement. When he started working in Los Santos in 2009, he received the news of his father's death upon a letter he received from his brother, and upon the news of his death, he decided to stay in America. The administration of the Devrim's Crime Network US branch was on Erkan Devrim, the youngest child of the Devrim family, known as "Ustura Erkan" in Turkey. In 2021, he started to take the steps together with names such as Hakan Ozturk and Iskender Avci.
