A photo of multiple Original West Side Crips in the 1970s, before they split off and became Neighborhood Crips and Gangster Crips. Original Westside Crips The Original West Side Crips were a predominately African-American street gang that was formed in the 1970s, around Strawberry Avenue and Forum Drive. The two main hangout spots for the West Side Crips were outside the Davis High School and around the Strawberry Plaza. Many of the first-generation members of the Westside Crips were already socializing together as a group in 1968 at the B.J. Smith Recreation Center. Stanley Williams, Donald Archie, and Ricardo Simms founded the Original West Side Crips alongside a few other members to protect themselves from other crews and gangs. Meanwhile, Raymond Washington was in charge of the East Side Crips, these two groups created a strong alliance. In 1972 members of the Westside Crips were charged with the murder of Robert Ballou in 1972, which occurred in Vinewood. Later on, it was revealed that the four adults sentenced to prison were not directly involved in the assault with Ballou. Westside Crips Ricardo Simms, James Cunningham, and a few other affiliates were sentenced to prison. Members from the West Side Crips started branching off to different neighborhoods in South Los Santos, this is what formed the Rollin 60 Crips in 1975. The Original Westside Crips parted ways after the beef between the Rollin 60's Crip and 83 Gangster Crips, which started over an after-school fight. The beef between the two groups didn't get serious until an 83 Gangsters recruit opened fire on a Rollin 60's member during a fistfight in 1979, this left one of the Rollin 60's affiliate deceased and another wounded. Later the 60s went to the 83 Gangsters hood and just wanted the shooter, due to him hanging around the 83 Gangsters for two days nobody knew he was. The 60s took this as if the 83 Gangster didn't want to give him up, they later called a meeting between the two gangs. The meeting didn't do anything but cause a large gang fight, they've been bitter enemies since then. A set of photos showcasing Rollin 60's Neighborhood Crips affiliates after a split between the Rollin 60's and 83 Gangsters. After the splitting of the West Side Crips, other hoods had to eventually be picked aside. This led to some hoods taking the 60's side and falling under the Neighborhood Crip car or the Deuces, others sided with the Gangster Crips falling under the Trays or the Hoover Criminals. All this started a huge war around South Los Santos, having crip sets hating other crip sets. Many affiliates ended up dying and getting life sentences in prison. As time went on the Rollins 60's didn't do anything more but expand and started causing more issues with other members, many people around the community were shocked to see the war happen like this. When everything was just fist fights not even a full year ago. With the gangs that sided with the Rollin 60's, they followed the same steps as the 60's even having the same enemies as each other. Members of the '60s were known to start beef with anybody they didn't like, they were known to travel to a skating ring in the Midtown district just to bother with the School Yard Crips. This added a bigger target on the back, it was rumored that they used to travel over there at least twice a week. Oftentimes, the School Yard Crips couldn't do anything about their presence. The Rollin 60s made it on the news in 1984 when member Tiequon Cox also known as "Lil Fee". Wanted to get revenge against a person in a non-gang-related matter, but he ended up going to the wrong house. Where he and a few other affiliates, executed four family members of a former NFL Rams player. Cox was convicted in 1986 for committing quadruple murder and was sentenced to death and sits on death row. One of the other affiliates was sentenced to death also, but then had his sentence commuted to 4 consecutive life terms while the third affiliate was sentenced to life without parole. While on death row Cox stabbed Original West Side Crip founder Stanley Williams. One of their main Blood rivals is the Van Ness Gangsters, Since Rollin 60 members attended Davis High School north of Forum Drive, they often fought with the Van Ness Gangsters. Due to the Van Ness Gangsters being a smaller gang with less membership, the Rollin 60s have been able to dominate the school population even though the high school is outside of their turf. In 2003, the Los Santos City Attorney filed a gang injunction against the Rollin 60's specifying 31 men who were members and associates of the gang. But some have suggested that the '60s were being unfairly targeted including individuals that weren't even in police contact in many years. In 2018 Chief U.S. District Judge Virginia A. Phillips ruled that most gang members subject to gang injunctions in Los Angeles suffered a due process violation since the city did not allow them to challenge the civil restraining orders in court. Los Angeles has been barred from enforcing these restraining orders since 2017. A screenshot from a local Rollin 60's Neighborhood Crips affiliate social media account, it shows off multiple members from the gang. In the Rollin 60's Neighborhood Crips was one of the largest gangs in Southern Los Santos. As their territory grew over time, it still extends from Strawberry Avenue, down through Forum Drive, and other cliques hanging around down to Carson Avenue. They are one of the larger hoods under the umbrella of Rollin O's and Neighborhood Crips. They're known to be one of the most notorious groups in the Davis district of Los Santos. Members of the Rollin 60's are known to wear Seattle Mariners apparel, showing their affiliation with the gang. Rollin 60's Neighborhood Crips have a few sections naming just a few the Avenues, Front Hood, and Overhills. Most younger affiliates from the area still attend Davis High School just as the older members. The Los Santos Police Department considered the Rollin 60s the biggest African-American street gang in Los Santos County. In addition to their forever-lasting rivalry with the Gangster Crips, the Rollin 60s Neighborhood Crips are naturally hostile towards all Bloods sets. Their closest Blood rivals are the Van Ness Gangster Brims, whose neighborhood is located directly just north of 60's turf. The 60s are also considered enemies of the Inglewood Family Gang who are directly located to their south. Their other Blood rivals include the Inglewood Neighborhood Pirus, Harvard Park Brims, Fruit Town Brims, Rollin 20s Neighborhood Bloods, Crenshaw Mafia Gang, and the Black P Stones. The Rollin 60's are allied with most gangs under the Neighborhood and the Rollin 0's Umbrella such as the 46, 48 & 67 Neighborhood Crips, and the East Coast Crips. And many other street gangs in the area. The Rollin 60's has also had issues with all Hoover Criminals Gangs including the 52 Hoover Gangster Crips, Innocence Family Gangster Bloods, 51 Trouble Gangster Crips, and a handful of other hoods. One of the most dangerous areas located in the 60's is the Front Hood side, specifically the Gutter Avenue side. Gutter Avenue are the guys from the front hood putting in work on the local gangs on their side of the turf. They take care of the innocent side of the beef for the most part, they also carry all front hoods and main beef. They are the Strawberry Avenue hustlers, stretching down to Carson Avenue. They're big hustlers and were known to trap out their apartments.
