Marylena Escobedo is the second child of four by Moises Escobedo and Sofia Rosales-Escobedo. Her father's side of the family moved from Mexico to Los Santos in the 1970s and at an almost adjacent period of time her mother's side of the family did the same. Marylena's mother and father grew up on Jamestown Street in Rancho their whole life and managed to stay out of a negative lifestyle unlike some of their relatives in Los Santos. Marylena's father and mother both worked regular hardworking jobs within the community of Rancho, her father helped move furniture and had a part time forklifting job at a rubber warehouse and her mother worked at the local 24/7. In recent tragic news, Marylena's parents both died in a car accident following a shootout at the Rancho 24/7 her mother worked at between two Hispanics that have yet to be ID'd. Due to this event happening, Marylena is sent to live with her aunt, uncle and cousins at her grandmother's house along with her baby brother and sister. Her older sister Consuela decided to go live with her boyfriend in the Jamestown Projects in Rancho. As of lately, Marylena's become more involved in the petty street activities of the Baby Lokaz clique in the Ghetto Boyz 27 Sureno gang in South Central Los Santos. Her introduction to the neighborhood was extremely tough for her to get through just to be accepted. Marylena was hit with a baseball bat by Yvonne Rocha's sister Zoe Rocha due to jealousy over Zoe's boyfriend and Marylena's friend, Rodrigo "RJ" Juarez. After she was struck with a baseball bat by Zoe, Zoe was pretty much pushed out of the hood for doing what she did. It was a sign of acceptance by the Baby Lokaz especially since Yvonne herself was involved in the matter and sided with Marylena. Her affiliation with the street gang was sealed when she actively had a hand in the murder of Antonio Alzarta, the father of Yesenia & Rachel Alzarta, for alleged pedophilia. The situation went down on the corner of Covenant Ave & Brogue Ave in broad day, Marylena involved herself without hesitation due to the figurehead of the gang asking her on the spot. This is the most likely cause of Marylena being jumped into the gang not three days later, she's employed in the streets as a full fledged Baby Lokaz clique member.
