  7. I'm looking for some ideas for legal and passive group role-play scenarios. Although I have some in mind, I thought of posting here and getting some more, brainstorming is much more efficient. The group will be anywhere from 5-10 people to 55-60 people. Current ideas: Barbecue/house party Private venue/bar get-together Hiking trip Camping Game night Airsoft Football This topic could also act as a resource for anyone who's looking for similar ideas. I will update it as people respond. Any input is highly appreciated!
  8. tl;dr An official .gta.world tool for all factions to use in order to generate I posted this on the SD forums but was directed to post it here, since it's more of an official, server-wide project than a faction-specific one. I and many others would like to see some sort of official website or hub to aid us with filing the paperwork required by most (if not all) of the legal factions. Each of these factions has some sort of administrative forum work, some more than others, that we're all required to do in order to keep everything organized and up-and-running and it would be nice to have an official and dynamic system in place. This is why I believe this to not only be extremely relevant and important but also urgent. I have put together a sketch of what the website could look like. I think that an experienced web developer (and we have a bunch) can do this in a short matter of time. It doesn't have to be anything fancy as it can be updated regularly, in time. The system would be similar to the MDC. A simple, straight-forward explanation of the functionality: User enters their badge number and UCP password, then they're taken to their faction's page. If they're in multiple factions, to a screen where they can choose. On their faction's page, they select the category/division and are taken to the relevant forms. They select one of them, fill in the form and generate the either the BBCode or HTML (for the MDC) - something set by the form's creator. They then post it on the forum or on the MDC. We currently have some tools but none of them are official. One which was has been discontinued, as far as I know, and was seriously lacking (only ~3-4 functions). For SD only, there's a ton of different unofficial websites and tools made by kind people but it's hard to keep track, neither of them are official and if something happens and they go down, we're left to filling the BBCode or HTML in ourselves (in some cases it's fine but in others, trust me, it's not). The tool would be dynamic. Forms will be added, removed and modified directly by the factions themselves, without needing a web developer to do so (like our current versions). There would be 3 roles. User (default), moderator (can add divisions and forms within those divisions - supervisors within each faction) and administrators (faction leaders, staff members - they add the moderators and can see everything). The website would save the form's contents (to prevent accidentally closing the browser and losing everything) and the only way to clear it would be by clicking the 'Clear' button. It would automatically-fill the static details (Name, Badge number, date and time etc.). Why? Besides the reasons above, which are current and urgent, we have to look towards the future. The server was almost empty, undeveloped and sometimes unplayable a few years ago. Right now, there's 780 players online at the same time. Factions are numerous, developing and branching out continuously. This tool will not only be useful now but will adapt together with the server. Otherwise we'll (inevitably) reach a point when it will be overwhelming to keep track of everything. How? The tool would work similar to BBCode.rip (for who is familiar). The moderator posts the BBCode, links the form's fields to their place in the BBCode and that's how it would be filled. That also makes it dynamic (since different forums use different codes and such) and it's also fairly easy. For the HTML formats, it would work just like the MDC panel. Some screens I made on the go. Please don't bash my clear lack of talent.

  12. Frederick Dowell is a man in his fifties. Once a young, idealistic college graduate, Dowell enlisted in the United States Marine Corps after encouragement from his family. He worked his way up to become a sergeant in his weapons platoon. Upon separation from the military, Dowell entered the workforce in the public sector. Forced to work with little resources in a complex environment where no one seems to care, Dowell kept his skeptical and aloof views on the world, but at the same time rediscovered his old values. Despite adversity, Dowell finds a way to last in places where many people were, but few remain. This is his story. Real waste. Intense sanitation. Severe consequences.
  13. [picture] Olivia Grace Williams was born on June 28, 1999 in Dayton, Ohio. She grew up in Kettering, a suburb of Dayton. As a child she was considered tomboyish and took more interest in the outdoors, sports, and other more physical activities than her studies. Though she was never a failing student, C's were quite normal on her report cards.Olivia's father is a police officer in Kettering to this day. Her mother is a schoolteacher at a local elementary school. As a teenager, Olivia continued her lackluster academic performance but made sure to keep her grades high enough to participate in high school athletics. Her worst subject was math, but she did take an interest in history and English classes. She played softball, basketball, and field hockey in high school. Upon graduation, she elected not to attend college but instead take a job at a private security firm - a good word having been put in by her father. During her time working in security, Olivia was diligent and hard working. It was her time working in private security and her close relationship with her father that sparked her interest in a career in law enforcement. Wanting to shove off on her own Olivia - perhaps brashly - moved to San Andreas with money she'd saved over the years living at home while working full time. Her parents protested her decision, wishing for her to simply pursue her goals closer to home. Having read that the LS County Sheriff's Department was hiring however, she decided to make for the West coast and apply. She now finds herself on her own in a whole new place she's never been to before. Her dream is to succeed in her career path, and she is eager to begin. This is where Olivia's life has led her up to the current moment.
  14. Long story short, give official factions a forum usergroup for their members so PD can be PD, SD as SD, DOJ as DOJ, FD as FD, GOV as GOV, Conti as Conti, Paisa Car as Paisa Car, Eme as Eme, etc, it would be a cool feature to have. It's nothing that has a drastic positive or negative change, nor is it a primary function needed but it's just for the aesthetic. Just to clarify it'd show as a forum rank.
  15. Short description: Implement a way to get metal parts legally from things other than car parts. Detailed description: When it comes to the server, many people know that everyone and their mother are looking for lock-picks and weapons such as knives and knuckle dusters. As a pawn shop owner, these items are by far the most requested and I find the lack of ability to get these items without doing so illegally rather annoying and honestly unrealistic. When it comes to things such as the items mentioned above, in the United States you can order all of these on Amazon and have them shipped to your door. In addition, buying metal scrap is easy to find a legitimate scrap yard and go in and buy metal by the boatload. Although not everyone knows how to melt metal, there are various youtube videos online showing how you can melt things down with homemade forges and smelt things. What I suggest is one of the following 1. Implement a way to get metal parts legally with the metallurgist job or a new script job such as harvester or scrapper. These jobs would go to places like the large scrap yard in Sandy and do a script command similar to fishing, where they get scrap metal at an appropriate rate such as maybe one scrap per minute. They could then take this metal to the factory and melt this down into a metal part. This would provide a legal way for people to get metal, as well as not flooding the server with things such as lockpicks or knives or knuckles as it would take twenty minutes of script harvesting to get one lockpick, forty minutes per knuckle, and fifty minutes per knife. This would not only allow players to make money in a way that could provide RP, such as having a company that goes around and cleans up scrap around the state, but provide legal players with a way to craft and sell these items. 2. Implement a type of legal supplier that would allow legal characters to apply and get shipments of metal parts, picks, knives, and knuckles, that would be similar to how the illegal suppliers work but would instead represent the shop owners ordering the items from various bulk order stores and scrap yards from around the country. This would, yet again, provide players a legal way to get these items, while allowing the admins to not flood the market too badly. It would allow people like me that own Pawn Shops to have access to the items most requested by players, while not having to have illegal connections that steal and scrap cars for parts. Commands to add: Similar to the fishing script, but for harvesting scrap metal in the scrap yard or various scrap piles around the map Items to add: Scrap metal (Only if it is added as a script job) How would your suggestion improve the server? This would provide players with the ability to craft things to defend themselves if they put enough dedication into it. As well as allowing people to run legit and fully legal shops like Pawn Shops. This would also allow people to get metal without having access to someone with a garage and would reward people for dedication to protect themselves. Additional notes: In the end, I am just wanting the ability to provide more options for people to make money through legal RP. Although my pawn shop in specific may not be completely legal, the ability to not get metal parts without some amount of illegal interaction is a shame. I feel that adding more legal options for making money is a very legit one and being able to do so without opening a bar or club sounds like a win to me. I would be interested to see what everyone else thinks.

This thread seeks to document said communities within Los Santos. There are people from every background in the community, from doctors, policemen and students to thieves, delinquents and robbers. While the Jewish community tends to be more religious than that of other communities, it doesn't stop you from playing any sort of character you want - For a lot of Jews, religion is more of a tradition that is upheld simply to preserve the culture rather than strict adherence to all the rules. Please keep this thread for RP within or based around the Jewish community. If you want to post on the thread and you're not sure, send me a PM.
  18. Short description: Job applications Detailed description: We could have "Jobs" section and have people apply for different jobs which would be with "okay" pay. Commands to add: Depends on the job. Items to add: Security trucks How would your suggestion improve the server?: It'd present players with more legal jobs and those who would pass the application, having good admin record, all the requirement - he'd be able to get the job he applied for. Requirement to apply: PF licenses CCW licenses Guard card (guard exam) Good admin record Good reason why you wish to apply for the job. This would similar to trucking, expect it'd be as a special-type of job - it'd pay decent, higher than regular trucking - as this is more risk and tougher way to get in. Example: Security firm (script-wise/server wise) - players who are accepted would be invited into a job, which would give them access to the security truck. And this would work similar to TRUCKING system, expect they'd go to banks and union depository (we could let them to have command /garageopen /garageclose - and allow them to open / close the garage-doors for the depository, and have that as the trucking firms HQ. They'd do deliveries from point A - B's, and further they'd go - to bank to Paleto Bay for example, the larger their paycheck would be. They'd have access to a side-firearm, a pistol (not a combat one, but a regular pistol) and shotgun's. Shotgun's would work like the police gun-rack /take 1 for shotgun and /place 1 to place it back. NOTE: People who would wanna apply for this, would have to first get WEAPON LICENSES, CARRYING CONCEALED WEAPON and do a GUARD CARD exam. If individual has it all passed, he could apply for this JOB APPLICATION, and if his admin record is solid and he is straight up role-player, he'd be become a security truck driver. Each time he'd leave the union depository, he'd see how much money he'd be moving. "Your moving 20.000$ to Pillbox Bank" and etc..it'd be random. If the vehicle gets hit for example - by a crew, they'd have to have lock-pick/explosive even (illegal factions step in) to break into the back of the truck. And high-jack the items. The truck-driver would have a panic button that he could quickly activate and notify PD&SD. This could promote heist RP and additional legal job - and its a huge risk, since stopping a truck would be difficult and he'd active the panic button quickly. NOTE: There should be at least 7 cops on duty in order to do this. (Combined PD&SD) Additionnal information: Why not? Another possibility for a legal job and have heist-crew RP'ers have something to do, rather jack stores. IF security guard is caught abusing and making it easy for robbers, aka - easily giving them the stuff (which is easy to spot if its OOC related) - he'd be removed and even face a temp-ban. Player would be able to get himself the security outfits the skin - or we could have a game-made skin for his custom character, same way we did with sheriffs. He could wear some sort of a long-sleeve shirt and a GREY kevlar and holster, similar as PD & SD has in their /uniform. Security truck Union depository
