Madelyn was born and raised in South Central, Los Santos, an area that was swept with poverty, the ongoing crack epidemic, and the rise of police brutality among people that lived on the Southside. She grew up in the hard-hit area of Davis, where gang banging was in it's "golden era" and every family around including her own struggled to get by with desperation, often resorting to crime to overcome those struggles. Being white in a predominantly Black neighborhood wasn't easy, with very few white faces around this made her stick out like a sore thumb, often becoming a target. Madelyn quickly learned that surviving with the shitty cards she was dealt meant she had to find protection, even if it meant going down a dark path. Madelyn began to seek refuge with some of the older girls from the area, she flocked to them for safety at first, but over time she began to delve into petty crimes such as shop lifting and vandalism. Maddie was slowly drawn deeper into the gang culture of South Central, The lifestyle of fast money, power, and the adrenaline of living on the edge became almost addicting. It was a dangerous escape from the harsh reality of her life. Her path soon spiraled out of control, the thrill of the streets lead to her a spiral of drugs, crime and prison. Madelyn spent most of her late teenage and early twenties cycling in and out of juvenile institutions and prison, the more she tries to escape the trajectory she put herself on the more she fumbled and fell a slave to her addictions.

Marcus "Lil Hazard" Guerrero, 14, was born in a family consisting of both his parents along with his older brother. Marcus, since a young age idolized his brother's reckless lifestyle, often reciprocating his actions whether it be in school or within the community around Bridge Street. Marcus' mom, Gloria Espinoza, was a telemarketer for a large scale corporation while his father worked at Marcus' school as the head of janitorial services. In 2018, both of Marcus' parents were on their way home from a parent-teacher interview held by the school annually. His parents were arguing with one another, as per usual, resulting in a lack of attention directed to the road. A drunk driver had collided with his parents' car, causing a massive accident on West Mirror Drive. Both of his parents were pronounced deceased after being rushed to the hospital, leading to Marcus' brother - who was 18 at the time - being forced to step up into a parental role. Marcus' brother was forced into working both a day and night job in order to financially support himself and his brother. The duo barely managed to pay Marcus' school fees alone, without consideration of the additional costs of living they had both incurred. The duo had then moved in with their abuela, who had kindly offered to house and take care of them both. Marcus had resorted to the local gang, namely El Monte Flores, in order to provide himself with a sense of family. He had forced himself into developing a tough demeanour, however his actions would be largely dependent on the amount of people that could back him up. When alone, Marcus resorts to a materialistic personality, often spending whatever money he has on fake designer clothing.
