Review of Glucose Guardians Grocery Homepage By: The Celery Sisters GLUCOSE GUARDIAN GROCERY The business that we are focusing on in this review is the Glucose Guardians grocery store. They're located in the Morningwood area and appear to be an organic grocery store. Vegan Options: They had a surprising abundance of vegan options like tofu, vegan donuts, smoothies and more. They did have meat in the freezer but, I guess it is a necessary evil. What matters is that they are trying to provide options for those who do not indulge in animal flesh, and they have done that successfully. I purchased a few snacks from here like vegan smoothies, vegan chips and vegan donuts. They all tasted amazing, but the donuts in specific were astounding! (Take notes Golden Crust) I'll give 5/5 stars for this category. Sustainability: I really appreciate that they did not immediately go to put my items in a wasteful bag like a lot of grocery stores would've. They gave me the option of a paper, plastic or no bag. I would prefer though if only paper or reusable bags were the only option, and I hope they make this change in the near future. Plastic bags can get into the soil and slowly release toxic chemicals. This can cause animals to choke and die on them. I'll give 3.9/5 stars for this category. Business Model/Ethics: The employees of the store were very polite and welcoming, after entering we asked if they had vegan options and we were informed that they were plentiful which was a delight. I would like to see more greenery inside of the business in celebration of our wonderful mother earth. For this category I will give a 4.7/5 stars. Overall: 4.5/5 stars - This is a place that you should get your groceries, especially if you're looking to slowly dip your toes into the world of veganism, this is a wonderful introduction. The employees were welcoming, the vegan options were plentiful, and they had sustainable baggage options. If you go here, I advise you to carry your groceries in hand or maybe bring your own reusable bag. -Comments are enabled- Username: Comment:
