Arsonist Strikes Cypress Flats Hardware Store, Injures Two Firefighters Written by Gabriel Stone - 9th March 2023 Above: Firefighters and San Fire on scene for the Cypress Flats blaze. At 8:18PM on the 8th of March, emergency services were called to a structure fire on El Rancho Boulevard, Cypress Flats. The Tool Stop building, a hardware store, was ablaze following an explosion from one of the tanks on the premises. The blaze was intense and present both inside and outside the structure. Top: LSFD climb onto the roof. Bottom: One firefighter seen on the ground shortly after the partial cave-in of the roof. The Los Santos Fire Department was on scene to tackle the blaze. Three firefighters were seen using a ladder to access the roof when, at some point during the fire, it partially collapsed and trapped one firefighter inside. LSFD could be seen rushing to the assistance of their fallen colleagues immediately as the collapse occured. The firefighter who'd been entering the building at the time was also injured. Both were rescued and transported to local trauma centres to treat minor wounds they'd sustained and have since been released. With the fire out, San Fire moved in to investigate with the assistance of an arson dog and were able to determine that foulplay was involved. They were unable to comment further on evidence found at the scene. This fire comes some days after another smaller fire in the same area.
