  1. -- A simple thread following the life of spiraling drug addict Chloe.
  2. NEWS • Local News Written by Kelsey Davies • May 30th, 2023 - 11:20AM A Look back: Vivian Ibarra, Marianna Hernandez, and Luz Pacheco Face Justice for a Crime Spree Three young women were arrested in a barrage of illegal activities that will change their lives. Vivian Ibarra, Marianna Hernandez, and Luz Pacheco began their crimes with a burglary of a store. However, when they were apprehended by the authorities, their actions spiraled out of control, revealing even more severe offenses that led to their decades-long imprisonment. Luz Pacheco (19), Marianna Hernandez (18) & Vivian Ibarra (18) Botched Burglary In 2006 Vivian Ibarra, Marianna Hernandez and Luz Pacheco were all 18 and 19 years old. Their criminality began together when they were students at Davis High School. On the evening of 26 September 2006, their lawlessness began with a store burglary. Vivian Ibarra, Marianna Hernandez and Luz Pacheco plotted their robbery of a Davis grocery store, Earl's Corner Goods, earlier in the day. The three were parked outside and had monitored the business throughout the afternoon. At roughly 10 PM, after closing, they moved against the store while wielding weapons. They used brute force to gain entry, which set off alarms, and fled in their getaway vehicle after quickly looting. Los Santos police arrived on-scene approximately 6 minutes after the alarm was triggered. Evidence such as shattered glass and broken-down doors were documented by police. Months earlier, Earl's Corner Goods had been burglarized twice. However, these incidents were not linked to this case. At 2:47 AM on 27 September 2006, Los Santos police stopped a vehicle which matched the description of the one used in the grocery store robbery. During the traffic stop, the officers observed that all three individuals were heavily under the influence. They were detained and the vehicle searched, yielding the retrieval of stolen firearms. Resultantly, the trio were all charged with weapons offenses and the driver, Marianna Hernandez, was also charged with DUI. In the following days, additional charges were laid from the grocery store robbery. In January 2008, the trio's criminal case was tried in state court. They plead guilty and were all convicted of robbery, weapon and DUI crimes and sentenced. V. Ibarra was sentenced to 11 years, M. Hernandez to 15 and L. Pacheco to 14.
  3. The What A girl caught up with the S/S Playboys 13 set, banging out on Brouge Ave in central Davis. Forced to support her struggling step mother through a series of robberies, illicit trades and kicks to the teeth. Our thread will follow the life and times of Davis High Shortstop, Andrea Sarmiento, a resident from the neighborhood as she struggles to walk the line between well-adjusted young woman and down bad Sureño affiliate. The Who A girl born to a pair of deadbeat parents in South-Central. Andrea’s father had a tendency to drink, and then take out his drunken frustrations on her and her brother. It wasn’t uncommon for her or her sibling to wind up in school with a busted lip or a black eye. At age six, her mother overdosed. A year later her father wound up with a younger woman and her two boys. Her father grew and sold weed out of his basement, assisted by her older brother Josue. The police inevitably caught wind of what was happening and in a search, her father sold his son out and scapegoated the operation onto him. A year later, he was arrested for various charges, anyhow. Her step brothers are both affiliated with the S/S PBS13 set. While one was killed about a year ago, her younger sibling, the older one has been incarcerated for the past two years and change, leaving Andrea alone with her step mother, Rosana. Rosana does her best to try and look out for Andrea, who came to grow very close with her step-brothers and their activities, for she doesn’t want her step daughter to walk the same path and wind up dead, or behind bars herself. Mortal Reminders Below we'll find a troubled rabblerouser's attempt to organize her thoughts in messy internalizations, reflections and reminders of one's mortality, humanity, or at times lack there-of. People are not perfect. Sarmiento is just another statistic waiting to cross someone's desk.
