Kenneth Nakagawa From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Kenneth Nakagawa, also known as "Kenny" or "Ken" (born April 20, 2004) is a Japanese-American MMA-Fighter. Where to begin... You'd imagine it to be quite easy to start a Journal, to share your ideas with the world, your personality, struggles and expressions due to being an Artist and it already being what you do, but, it's not. The life of an artist, especially a Model and Photographer from the outside looks like glitz and glamour, like you're ontop of the world and everyone is watching you. Only one of those things is true, there is a spotlight on you and it's not always bright. Sometimes it's dark, gloomy and full of terror, this little journal is my way of sharing my passions, it's ups and it's downs and to hopefully help others who might be going through the same or looking to in the future. Being a public figure, a model and artist atleast is like standing on the edge of a cliff. Overlooking the sea as a great storm approaches, you're unsure if you'll find your way, if you'll come out the other side... but no mater what, no matter how scary it gets you keep trying, you keep trying to find your path. So, that's where this story begins, a time of my life that looks the scariest. I've just come out of surgery, having my Throat Reconstructed, so I'm bed ridden. Unable to move around much and too confused to operate a camera, so for the next few weeks a pen is my tool. I might aswell start at the beginning, why I got into what I do, what inspired me and the struggles I have now. I'm 24 years old, born in Croulebarbe in the South of Paris in a dainte little town house along the sides of a small alley, dotted with fresh fruit stalls and artists offering to paint portraits for money. Every morning as a child the house would fill with the smell of fresh roses, cheese and oil paint, it was always so exciting because I never knew who I would meet that day. I'd run out of the house and down the alley, smiling at everyone as I stop at each artist and look at their work. I knew, as the bones are to my body that I was going to be a painter. I was going to inspire and give others the same feeling I felt everyday. When I was just 6 I picked up my first paint brush, dabling with my fathers oil paints onto the white washed lounge room wall. I still remember the look on his face as I filled with terror, thinking I was going to be scolded. However, he encouraged me but told me the wall is not a place to capture my feelings, to use the canvas instead. He took me by the hand and led me into his little studio, plopped another brush in my hand and told me to close my eyes. To smell the paints and just feel the canvas, not look but to feel and hear as I attempted to paint a Pink Rose. It was so exciting, I was so giddy. For years after I would steal away at midnight into my fathers studio and just paint whatever I was thinking, flowers, people, animals. Over the years as I grew from child to young adult I developed my skills and learnt a profound amount about composition, lighting, color theory and more. I'm not sure what I loved the most, learning the foundations of art or the feeling of getting lost in a world of my own. By the age of 18 I had enroled at Versailles Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines University where I took an undergraduate of Photography & Visual Design, encapsulating my favorite areas of art and learning a new one, Photography. It was around this time that I got into a very unhealthy relationship with a older man, I was barely able to leave the house as he kept me inside... barely, just barely graduating due to innatendance. He was an aggressive man and everything that happened during our relationship would later effect my life as an artist, both online and independantly. I suffered severe damage to my wrist, leaving me with a lack of movement and shakeyness. It felt like my world ended, not the troubles of my life but the fact that I could no longer paint, I spent weeks, months, crying and trying to paint.. but I simply couldn't anymore. A straight line would turn into a squigle, a face would turn into a blur of badly painted features. I felt frozen, unable to go on. It was due to my twin sister Elyna that I was able to find myself again, she taught me what it meant to be strong and independant. She was heavily into Fashion & Design and would often ask me to take photos of her, letting me put my time earnt skills to practice. Through her, my beloved sister I found myself again. I used all the money I had saved from my childhood to buy my first, very own camera. I remember it vividly. The feeling of the cold metal, plastic and glass against my finger tips as I picked it up for the very first time, a Canon EOS C300 Mark III EF. It felt magical, although it cost me almost $18,000. Over 15 years worth of savings, leaving me with just a tiny bit left. As a present from my sister she bought me a lens for it, the 35mm DGO sensor. Little did I know, at this point that I would be seeing my sister for the last time in over a year. I took my camera and the little bit of money I had left and bundled up in a small yet long wagon. One of those types you'd see in the 1950s hippie movement, being my base and centre of life for the next year as I traveled across most of Europe, through Germany, Poland, Sweden, Norway, Romania and Austria. During those 12 months I took over 5,000 photographs, photographs I still have saved to this day. Memories, possibilities of the future from actions of the past. In Germany I got the chance to capture a stunning Brewery, in Romania a small Vampire-esque town, Sweden the icey mountain peeks and deep valleys. My journey across Europe had to end somewhere though, and that was with me boarding a permanent flight to America, the "Land of The Free". I touched down in Southern Los Santos, the warm summer air shocking me as I had never felt such intense sun and heat before, yet for the minutes it took me to take it all in I fell in love. The rest, well being for another page, another day.

It didn't last particularly long. 8:48 AM AUG 22 2021 I make my way down the street to Little Seoul. There's a cruiser in the road with a few deputies surrounding it. Deputy-involved shooting, he had no chance. His life was taken for a traffic stop. I helped how I could and left. 5:34 AM AUG 23 2021 High-speed chase through the county with a company Burrito van. Some real acrobatic shit was going on. Against my better judgement I got close enough to film more or less the entire thing. A deputy blocked me off so I wouldn't be hit by the van. Thanks, deputy. Neither side could really decide who was in the err so they were made to go their separate ways. I stood around and watched for a while. Guy inside had been shot a few times, and the car rolled over on its roof. His friend ran off and left him- there was blood leading from the car across into an adjacent alley. They sounded pretty sure they'd caught their guy. He had been stopped in the act, with the body of the victim right next to him. Two murders in thirty minutes, less than twenty-five feet apart. The density of homicides in South Central is unrivaled. 06:09 AM AUG 15 2021 Traffic stop on a four-occupied sedan on the Jamestown projects block. Law enforcement are very careful around these parts, and for good reason. The place is an ambush waiting to happen. 06:54 AM AUG 15 2021 Less than two hours after I'd seen him at a scene on Forum Drive, a deputy is shot dead in the middle of the road. Co-workers frantically work to save his life, but he didn't roll away in an ambulance. Death will come when you least expect it. 09:50 AM AUG 15 2021 Standing around in the parking lot of the block my friend's letting me stay at when a Dominator comes screeching up, nearly hitting us. My partner tells him to watch his driving. He gets out in a bulletproof vest and motorcycle helmet and says "he's debating whether to kill us or not." For a brief moment, I consider running him over in my car. He pulled a gun on us, then shoved it away and walked off. Cops were called, since he'd done it in front of quite a few witnesses who didn't take kindly to having pistols waved at them. Sheriff's Department pulled out the big guns on him. Good shots from above. 4:47 AM AUG 16 2021 In a particularly wild twist, I witness the guy in the orange hoodie here steal a masked biker's motorcycle and speed off on it. Around thirty minutes later, I spot orange hoodie in an alleyway with some friends. I pull aside. Gunfire erupts. When I return, one's dead on the ground, with orange hoodie bleeding out, and a third wandering around the scene. Sheriff's Deputies arrive in force to take control of the situation, placing the third suspect under arrest shortly afterward. Seemed to me like our masked biker is some sort of vigilante. If he's a good enough shot to kill two in a three-on-one gunfight and survive, he's doing something right. Can't endorse vigilantism, though. Bad for one's health. 9:35 AM AUG 16 2021 Myself and a few friends make the mistake of cruising around old abandoned industrial areas in my van. We head to Elysian Island- there's a trucking depot there with posted signs, so we go to a lot that doesn't belong to them to drive around and check out the old docks and machinery. A green Gruppe Six pickup truck starts chasing us before long, from Elysian Island all the way through Cypress Flats, El Burro Heights, La Mesa, and finally Mission Row Station. When the guy gets out of his truck he introduces himself as a "Protections Officer." It was ruled a 'misunderstanding' by the Police Department. What confuses me the most is the audacity to chase civilians in an unmarked car... as private security. Professional standards, right? 6:18 AM AUG 18 2021 Traffic stop on the Los Santos Freeway. Guns are drawn and both driver and passenger are brought out of the vehicle. No good details on this one, but I have a feeling it had to do with a situation I'd seen earlier where a deputy was shot near the Chianski mountain range. 9:23 AM AUG 18 2021 This is broken, can I return it? Two people are shot inside a car on Roy Lowenstein Boulevard during broad daylight. No further details about the shooting could be dug up, but they both left in Coroner's vans. 11:56 PM AUG 18 2021 Street fight in Chinatown erupted down the road from a bar. Guy on the ground was brutally beaten and had his money stolen right out of his wallet. The thief threw the empty billfold in the victim's face and ran off after kicking him in the ribs. I didn't stick around to try to talk to anyone. When I tried to offer medical aid they didn't seem to want it. 11:15 PM AUG 19 2021 I get pulled over on Forum Drive, probably matching a suspect of something or another. While I'm sitting there getting ready a gunfight erupts less than thirty feet to my left. I get let go from the stop, pull on my press badge, and film. Gangster shot down an LSPD canine handler, and in turn, the deputy who pulled me over shot the gunman dead. Neither of them made it. 11:52 PM AUG 19 2021 I walk outside my friend's apartment again and two people are shot in front of me. I lift my camera as the gunman runs past- he doesn't notice me, tunnel vision, I guess. It probably helped I was behind something, anyway. He zooms past me, gun in hand. I'd later film this same guy killing a third in not long after these pictures were taken. 1:06 AM AUG 20 2021 LSPD operation at a block I've unfortunately been to one too many times by now. SWAT were outside holding the door. Couldn't get much closer than I did here, didn't want to, either. 1:50 AM AUG 20 2021 The same guy from earlier shoots at someone out front of the DMV apartments and hops in his buddy's sports car to get away. Unfortunately for him, he did not get away, as he was killed by police during the pursuit after exchanging gunfire with them. If you'd believe it, we were just about to leave this location on merit of nothing happening, too. Lucky find. 2:17 AM AUG 20 2021 Los Santos Sheriff's Department in hot pursuit of... A taxi. Hazarding a guess he did something to warrant such a response. I was reeling video when they passed, and it came out wonderfully. 2:20 AM AUG 20 2021 I take a bathroom break inside a 24/7 on Davis and Macdonald Street. When I'm on my way out, a gunfight erupts a block over, near the public library. I used the digital recorder I bought at Seeker's to get a quick snip of the ambience of Davis. Blood and brass on the steps of the public library- A deadly reminder of how violence has taken precedent over knowledge. 4:39 AM AUG 21 2021 Another massive brawl, this time outside a corner store on Strawberry Avenue. Fists and feet fly. A passerby starts kicking one of the guys who'd lost the fight in the head. Our masked vigilante whips a Glock out on him and makes him back off, then picks all the injured up. Everyone goes about their day like that hadn't just happened. I'm not gonna get preachy at the end of this issue, I've had two before this to do that. Greetings, "My character killed a child, but I don't want to role play him losing an arm, nor him being armless, because that makes me uncomfortable." I want to discuss with you guys a specific kind of characters and how they can often "hide" from consequences that are borderline expected/natural for such characters by pointing to the offensive roleplay rules. Now, I'm in no way some torture/rape (even though rape is no longer legal at all) role playing enthusiast. This isn't my character and I haven't resorted to such things in the server (pull logs). That's beyond the point though, I just wanted to step lightly into this and not give off the wrong vibe. My issue is in principle. The point is that I can't be the only one who finds it weird/suspect to have characters like... Let's use prostitutes and the no longer existing rape rp permissions as a go-to example. Many of the prostitutes in the server will have no problem engaging in hour(ly) long, in-depth erotic role play, as long as it pays. Many of which will do and let themselves be subjected to anything, including the most gross of fetishes, as long as THE CUSTOMER PAYS. As soon as things aren't going their way however and they run into the 'wrong customer', they automatically do not consent to rape role play and not even rape FTB. I don't have an official statistic, so take my implications of 'many' with a grain of salt. I do think that however, based on from-a-distance personal observations that it is many indeed, if not most. It's sort of been 'the way to go', not just here, but at role playing playgrounds in general and over the years. There's other potential examples. Let's take torture. What if a guy has no problem torturing someone (given the ic victim's ooc consent), but a week later and when at the 'wrong end of the gun', they deny torture role play, because it makes them uncomfortable. Where am I going with all of this? Playing to win and generally not being keen on engaging in role playing scenarios where you lose has been a trait of many (role)players over the years of role playing, including here, and hiding behind offensive role play rules is sometimes just another example of this. I think deep down, we all know this, but turn a blind eye, given how sensitive the topic is. Literally, we all know this and most of us have probably witnessed it at some point. People who have no problem being the do-er, but as soon as they are the victim, the 'I'm not comfortable' card is pulled. That being said, do you guys think that there should be an additional note in the offensive role playing rules that exempts certain characters from hiding behind it? E.g. you can't deny rape if you role play a crackhead prostitute(yes I know rape is illegal now, its an example, and I mean as a FTB happening, not having to sit thru a hour of such rp). You can't deny torture if you role play a mobbing sociopath that would be quick to do it to other people themselves and etc. Note these are just examples to get the point across, so when replying, please do not address the example directly, but rather the context it tries to present. Now let's see how much heat this catches. This is in general discussions and not suggestions at the moment, because I feel it can get more discussion here initially. TLDR: Refusing offensive role play as a particular kind of character is just like a prostitute refusing rape role play (even as a ftb happening) /and/ should you be able to deny it, if you have done it? (Even just as FTB, too) NOTE: I support rape rp and paedophilia being banned entirely from the server, please do not get the wrong impression. I know how sensitive this topic can be. Why role play a hardened mobster, but refuse to have a finger chopped off? This shouldn't happen. EDIT: Fade to black being used implies parties agree to the outcome. And like I said, people can use said rules to NOT agree having to continue and role play a now maimed character. So, it's not just dodging the rp, its dodging ic consequences. IN CONCLUSION AND IN MY OPINION -- THERE SHOULD AT THE VERY LEAST BE A LINE IN THE OFFENSIVE ROLEPLAY RULE THAT SPECIFICALLY EXEMPTS CERTAIN CHARACTERS FROM 'HIDING BEHIND THE RULE' (E.G. HARDCORE CRIMINALS). IF THEY ARE UNCOMFORTABLE WITH THE EMOTING, THAT'S FINE, BUT AT THE VERY LEAST THEY SHOULD BE LEGALLY REQUIRED TO AGREE TO FTB AND TAKING THE CONSEQUENCE (E.G. MAIMED CHARACTER) FROM THERE ON AS OPPOSED TO JUST DODGING IT ENTIRELY. AGAIN, NOT ALL PEOPLE/CHARACTERS SHOULD BE FORCED TO ROLE PLAY MAIMED VICTIMS, BUT AT THE VERY LEAST THESE IN CIRCLES WHERE IT'S INCREDIBLY REALISTIC TO BECOME ONE (E.G. PROSTITUTE-RAPE ANALOGY; MANY SEX WORKERS ARE VICTIMS OF RAPE IRL). Edit 2: I understand some of the examples/analogies here are not ideal, if you care for more elaboration, please look to my replies around pages 3-4. Or this: "My character killed a child, but I don't want to engage in role play during which he loses an arm AND I also don't want to agree to FTB that results in my character being armless, because that makes me uncomfortable." ^ This shouldn't happen. And at the very least agreeing to FTB should be in rules, when its not. As for the prostitution point, rape rp is banned for a good reason, so I'm not argueing about it, but more-so I was trying to draw a comparison that pertains to actions-consequences dynamics. Making a wrong move in a harsh, underground and cruel criminal world is realistically probable to get you hurt, just like its realistically probable for prostitutes to be sexual victims. Paid sex and being raped are not the same. But realistically a lot of paid sex workers are victims of rape. Also I don't think all characters should be 'forced' to have to cope with role playing maimed for example if it gets to it and if it makes them uncomfortable. But those that chose a dangerous life walk IC, shouldn't be able to avoid the consequences thanks to OOC. Again, nobody is saying you must sit down thru a 3hr torture session, but consent the consequences if you decided to fuck with the mob per se. Or... Essentially, if you chose a certain life path, you should be prepared /and/ willing to face the consequences that often come with it. Or... You can't fuck with the mob, but then say no to torture. You want to get into a situation but only get the good and absolutely void the bad. Thats objectively badrp. Or... If my character chokes ur character's baby and you decide to cut my arm off as retaliation, I shouldn't be able to say no, even to FTB, because I'd feel uncomfortable rping a character without an arm, or one that had their arm cut off. An IC Actions = IC consequences dynamic is fundamental to quality role play. Consequences aren't always great or pleasant, but they are realistic and this is why role play is different and great. Edit 3: This is getting long but @SaintBatemanofWallStreet said it better than I ever could. "So after reading through this thread, the one thing I've gotten out of it is that 95% of the people who replied have actually missed the point of the thread because they're either virtue signal to OP that he shouldn't be doing this RP because it offends their delicate sensibilities or laughing at him and calling him a weirdo after virtue signaling. He's not saying that we should be able to kill children by the bushel. He's not saying that people should be given carte blanche for rape. And I don't even know how the pedo shit got brought up, but I don't think I even need to say how much he's not asking for that to be repealed either. I don't think he's even saying we should be hacking off limbs like it's Europe in the 1300's. What is being pointed out is there is a flaw in the rules that says if someone is uncomfortable RPing something, then it can't be allowed to be RP'd. Now in other communities that rule has meant it doesn't have to be roleplayed through. But for some reason in this one, it means can't happen. That's the problem. Everywhere else it is faded to black and explained what would've happened and the characters would then just have to figure out their progression from there, or do what most people do when something bad happens to them on this server - act like it didn't happen after a day or so. There have been characters - not just on this server, who have been some real brutal characters who have used people's willingness to let scenes play out how they may to their advantage, and when their character was meeting their end or getting a comeuppance for their transgressions, opted to say "I'm not comfortable with this RP. Can't happen." and are suddenly absolved of all their wrongdoings and skate on the consequences of it. That's the point. Shouldn't be allowed. When you put yourself on the hook for it, you should have to ride it out. Whether or not you choose to fade it to black every single time or when one of the parties is not comfortable with the RP in depth, the actions still exist. And once you're in that jackpot, what is being said is, that whatever you're opting to take part in, you shouldn't be able to opt out of when it's not working in your favor. Nobody is saying you can't fade to black. The discussion is that you shouldn't be able to say it can't happen. This has not really been defended all that well and far too many people have piped up and just said "Yeah shouldn't be allowed to RP that anyways." Yeah. Heard you. Not the question. Nobody asked whether your mall rat should be allowed to have a hand hacked off on a whim, or whether your hooker with a heart of gold, a meth addiction, perfect teeth and a sports car should be subjected to sexual assault at every turn. It's about the people who are choosing to take part in the "offensive" roleplay hiding behind the rule when they've taken part in it, and the tables have turned against them and they opt out to not take the L."
