This. I don't see why this isn't an OOC issue. People are literally failing to RP fear of life when going that fast. Every person under the sun wants people to RP fear in robbery situations or shootout situations, but when it comes to driving, everyone is silent about it. Going 120+ and crashing into a wall should result in a CK. You're not going to get people to slow down or drive the right way via IC means, besides MAYBE drastically increasing repair costs to the car. Even then, money is nothing to most people on this server.

For the users with malicious intent, we absolutely need harsher punishments. Ajails need to be done away with. Temp bans need to be the minimum punishment. Spend time off the server. If its THAT malicious, they need to find another server. There is no other reality check that will work with people who knowingly lawyer the rules for their own gain and repeatedly break the rules while continuing to get more chances with an empty sad-story apology in appeals.

This is not true at all. We're not saying to just blanket punish people for the sins of a few, we're saying to punish the people who commit the sins instead of giving them 10 different "chances" to learn. They damn well know what they did most of the time and they're just taking advantage of you. A Good RP'er won't have a laundry list of broken rules on their admin record. There's always admin discretion when looking at a punishment. Blanket bans are a key to kill the server anyways. However, someone who repeatedly breaks rules and continues to get "chances", should be booted off the server. Period. Some of the shit people do on this server should get them more than an ajail and it's a continued and repeated behavior to see those people get off after an apology and a few suck up messages between the Admin and the offender. I don't fault admins directly because you're just following the standards set by the server. I feel there are those who are worried about losing people instead of properly punishing the offenders who deserve punishment. "We're a teaching server" "Maybe they didn't know about that rule" "Oh they've only broken a rule in each section once, so we'll give them more chances." I've seen it all. It's ridiculous. We're not a teaching server. It's a whitelist server with an extensive application to get in. People should be expected to know the rules before they start playing.

This is supposed to be a heavy RP server, not a teaching server. Everyone knows its common sense to try and teach people if they are NEW and have no idea what they're doing. The problem becomes when you continue this administrative behavior onto people who have obviously been around for more than 6 months. At some point, you're enabling them to continue breaking the rules under the guise of "oh well maybe they didn't know that rule". Give ma break. Yes they did. Let's get real here. People are expected to read and understand the rules when they play here. It's a huge reason why there is an extensive application, which isn't really all that difficult if you use common sense. Stop making excuses for repeat rule breakers. It's become so tiresome to see people get off time and time again. Hell this thread probably wouldn't exist if there wasn't a problem.

This doesn't come as much of a surprise. It's always kind of been this way, at least for the past couple of years. I've seen a hundred different threads about punishments on this server and it never changes. People given 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th chances because they appeal with some "I promise I've learned" sob story. Someone like that should've been banned. Period. It's obvious they had an extensive record. Time to go play on another server. The server would be a better place.

A lot of cops don't see those "boring" calls as fun, so they ignore them. It's not a hard concept. It is however hard to address. There are two very opposite sides of this coin. One side who RP's the PD position and all of its duties (positives and negatives) and the other side who are only out to "have fun", where they pick and choose what calls they go to. It doesn't seem PD management or server management are intent on forcing either side to do one or the other.

Yep. Went through a hunt for a middle-class type place. Forums were filled with expensive houses. Rentable properties are like 50K a month. It's crazy that we can't just keep affordable housing for people on the server. It's affordable for the first month before everyone revamps it and then sells it for more.

Micromanagement has and always will be the death of these kinds of servers. There's a reason that light RP servers or servers like NoPixel are more popular amongst groups, especially when you're talking about people watching them on Twitch and such. That kind of RP isn't for everyone and there is indeed a place for medium-heavy RP, but I feel like this server has digressed so far into nitpicking that it ruins any sort of creativity whatsoever. The fact that LCN factions are no longer allowed is just mind boggling to me, considering how long they were on this server. It was practically a staple for GTAW. I don't care how you justify it.

I haven't had time to go through all the open factions, but do all/most of them fall under the "enough of a presence on the west coast to be authentic" category? I feel like the LCN factions were some of the better quality RP on this server. That's a shame. Seems closed-minded to me to close that off.
