Should harsher punishments be given out by the Judiciary? There is no doubt that there is a considerable rising crime rate in the State of San Andreas... people are getting murdered on a daily basis and the murderers often getting let off with menial sentences and end up out on the street once again. The question we've all wanted to ask? What is the Judiciary doing about it? They're maintaining status quo - business as usual! It is undoubtable that the caseload for Justices is increasing due to the amount of crime in the city and some defendants are sat waiting weeks for an initial hearing. Whilst this may not be an issue for defendants that are not in prison... those on trial for murder should be given the upmost priority for the courts to bring justice to the family of the victims affected by this epidemic. Let's refer back to the starting point - murderers often get let off with menial sentences and end up out on the street once again. Why? If you intentionally take somebody's life, should you be able to walk the streets again, or should you remain in prison? The judiciary is not being harsh enough and it is evident by the rising crime rate. They need to crack down, and they need to do it now. RACHEL PEARSON, J.D., ESQ.
