i make a very basic character and let everything happen ic. making friends/enemies etc. going in with a plan always seens boring.

If you want to talk about what the rules are and what happens IRL. Then yes, you are talking about people shooting eachother because they felt threatened. the entire server would start gunning everyone down because "they felt scared". it's why we have escalation rules.

The issue here is DM mentality. IRL yes, sure. But give players that freedom and they'll DM anyone who looks at them wrong

The consequences outweigh the risk.

When you escalate something small (a fight/a quick robbery/insult war) into something large like murder.

What happens if the player reports it? the character goes to prison and gets out in a week. the player who reports it? probably gets cked. there's no fair war.

Even if this isn't a case, people are purposely playing the game/"rping theft" in ways that abuses the fact that it is a game. Rob people like that video @orca112 posted for the Silva dude. IRL? Are you really going to rob someone with guns in their drive way?? no because cops would be around the corner, people would be watching - it makes 0 sense. If the streets are dead ICly, there is literally NOTHING people can do IC to change that because thats the limitations of the game. Civilains can get CKed for reporting to the cops?

Looking at the reports/videos it's amazing how criminal RPers can get away with escalating a simple robbery into a murder in a residential area which realistically would have tons of witnesses from the moment they started shouting. I started posting on this thread saying how "don't do anything crazy and don't worry" but jesus it does look like civilians are at the mercy of criminal rpers. you want civilians to fear rp, make criminals fear jail becuase realistically? commit a crime at the right time and never go ot jail ever.

But... Isn't that just real life? You could be killed right now if you make the wrong move. LS-RP didn't have force CKs, players who spend years developing their character has no consequence or reason to fear anything. "Oh I'm getting robbed. it's fine it's only $500" then move on. You shouldn't "fear" losing your character if you act and portray your character realistically. People should not have to be worried if they act realistically.

I was going to write a post about how it's weird that americans are the minority, but you know what. you're right. it 100% is weird to see people talking like they're fresh off the boat from the UK, but it's better than them RPing something they don't know

It is if you're lucky enough to get it in a panda box unboxing.. It would be nice to hear the suggestions you brought to Nervous and apologies for bringing up the blip stuff. I just do feel discussing alternatives is a huge part of leasing a business. I just found the entire process, checking if leasing apps are open, going through, writing a background, not sure what to include really (as opposed to a faction where a general sense of direction is had) A forum thread in an acessible place would be a lot nicer. Maybe my understanding of leasing is wrong, but can more of these stores be requested/made upon request? Or just leasing out basic stores that people can mould it into what they want.

I don't see any other way around this other than a generic blip of maybe just a green/red circle, meaning players who see it on the map need to show up to know what it is. Or making it cost less WP for players to purchase it (30WP-50WP). @Nervous has already suggested that he does not "care" about profits and previous stuff he has said suggests he is against malicous business practises that prey on people. Otherwise he would not have introduced Panda Points. I've already been able to purchase 2 namechanges with them. It's a lovely system and I appreciate it being introduced. However, it would be extremely appreciated if at the very least you could actively buy a blip with them. Donations should not hinder roleplay but become a luxary for people who can afford it. I, and I think much of the community, would appreciate Nervous speaking to us about it and why you seem adamant things won't change. Blips aside, I feel like the leasing system is very intimidating for newer players and overral feels very intense and a lot of work for players who wish to create roleplay for the server. I feel like a more lax approach should be taken for certain businesses (if they're unique for example) bars, nightclubs etc - they can reamin how they are but for players who maybe want to open a small deli, a comic book store, an occulat store, a toy store hell even a video game store. We need more of these and honestly, i feel the amount of effort to put in can be seen as extremely over the top for what is a game.
