  1. Yep, I totally agree with you. I've never labelled Bobcat as an "entry level faction" and I never intend to, however often it is the kind of people that we attract. Since I've taken over Bobcat, I've really focused on trying to employ those who provide good quality roleplay, obviously not at a level of LEO factions, but better than Bobcat has had in the past. I've put in place a whole new recruitment system where I go over each of the candidates interviews and decide whether they're good enough, I'd say that our acceptance rate is between 50-60%. A lot of the people that are interested in security roleplay are those that want to join an LEO faction but are not at the roleplay level yet, this is the same as irl. Our roleplay quality will only get better as time goes on and we get more support for security factions. We're not going to attract better roleplayers if we don't change, that's the reason I created this thread. I want to know from the community what we need to do better, then we'll know what we need to improve for the future.
  2. Hey, just to inform you. Right now at Bobcat we've only got our fists, but we'll have batons soon.
  3. Sure! If anyone else would like to do the same, add me on discord, it's severn#3787
  4. Alright, I'm back. Time to go through some of this thread. Hey, thanks for the comment. So, as for those "that don't make the cut for LSPD/LSSD", yes there are a number of people who could be classed as LEO rejects, however there are also a number of people who do both security roleplay and LEO roleplay, including myself. We've got 6 people above a supervisory level at Bobcat, and 3 of them either have a LEO character or are ex LEO. "Truly disappointing that the server saw fit to reward mediocrity with more income for those security guards living in Vinewood with 500k cars." As for this part, in the kindest way possible, I've got no idea where you've got that from. I cannot speak for all security firms on the server, but at Bobcat we pay $3,500 an hour which makes it near impossible to get a 500k car. Hey, I was unaware this happens. I'll take a look into it 🙂 Thanks for the comment. I am aware that this happens, it happens in LEO factions too. In Bobcat, if people are seen to do this, they'll be kicked for roleplay concerns. This just ruins the roleplay for all. Yep, this does happen quite a lot and it does makes being a security guard on this server a lot harder, it takes away from the roleplay of all. This is often caused by the bad perception of security guards on this server, something that I'm trying to make better. Once again, thanks for the comment. I think that this is both an IC issue and an OOC issue. We definitely need to clamp down on poor portrayal such as identifying as cops, irl no security guard in their right mind would do this. I wasn't aware that this happens. - Sorry I haven't been able to respond to all, although a lot of posts have been either saying the same thing or arguing. I really value the criticism, security firms will never gain more "respect" from the community if we don't work out what we're doing wrong and change it. Overall, most of the comments have been about security guards acting like cops. I feel that this is an IC issue to some extent (if you don't believe me, search up "Denver Metro Protective Services" on youtube), however I didn't know to the extent that guards were doing this. It's something that I'm going to address both ICly and OOCly within Bobcat. I'll be introducing a number of changes within Bobcat in the near future due to some of the stuff that's been said in the thread. Feel free to ask me any questions, I'll keep active on this thread.
  5. Hey all, I’m out rn, I’ll read over and respond to all when I get back 🙂
  6. Thank you all for your responses, it's given me quite a lot to think about and it should do at G6 as well. Obviously we knew about a number of the problems mentioned, however I wasn't aware that it is so bad that people go out of their way to avoid roleplay with us. This is absolutely not alright. With stuff like this happening, I can see why we've got the "stigma" around us that we do. Once again, this is not okay. What I'm getting from this thread is that we have the image of wannabee cops, which I was aware of however not to this extent. As I run BCS, I'm never really doing security work, I roleplay more often with security guards on my SD character than I do on my Bobcat character so I don't really know what guards act like on an IC level. I'll keep monitoring this thread and posting responses, or answering any questions should people have any. It's likely that there will be a few changes in BCS to try and change our image a little, and so that our guards don't act like "police academy drop outs"
  7. nooo our clients are loyal anyway 💪 (hopefully)
  8. Hey all! I'm from Bobcat. I just wanna know how the community feels about security firms as a whole, not just Bobcat. What do you think of us? What could we do better? Do you enjoy roleplaying with G6/Bobcat/Raven etc? Feel free to say whatever you want whether it's positive or negative Thanks!
  9. +1 I can't imagine it'd be too hard to implement as well, though I may be wrong.
  10. +1 Doesn't make sense that it has a "range" in the first place imo.
  11. Yeah, not the security guard bit, this is coming from someone in Bobcat and a cop. I haven't shot at anything/anyone for a few weeks now. But I do think that removing hunting bullets from the script is a good idea. I can see how you can use that many if you're hunting quite often.
  12. Hey, much love from Bobcat ❤️ Always felt we needed more security firms in GTAW
  13. +1 I'm from Bobcat and we hardly every use the CIT Truck. It'd be really cool to get a scripted use for it. With the new security company alarm commands, it's been shown that it's possible for security companies to have a script.
