  1. Good thing we’re not Los Angeles then. I hate that argument. If we did everything case and point because we’re supposed to be LA, this place would be boring. We’ve got exotic sex tape ads going out on the advertisements system. We’ve got hookers advertising on what should be a legal ad system. We’re far from being LA or a “real” city. So, my point is standards is what the main issue is. In any case people selling different types of vehicles shouldn’t be the issue. Sure helicopters and stuff like that is a little crazy but limiting dealerships to specific types of cars creates issues in itself. What if I only play in certain hours and those luxury dealers are never online? Am I stuck to buying new? We’re focusing on the wrong issue. People flipping cars through their cell phones powergaming make believe lots where there cars would be held and abusing /vpark and /vget instead of going through the proper channels to get a business license and a lot, so they can be held to the same standards as everyone else. That is the issue here. Let’s refocus.
  2. You’re not understanding what I’m saying or ignoring me to fit this into your argument lmao. Let’s try bolding. They aren’t exceptions. They are all over the city. This is normal. They aren’t “highly specific”. They are all over the place. I never said they sell helicopters and such, but they definitely sell anything from shit box cars to exotics. I’m not talking about CarMax. I’m talking about the non-chain car lots that are EVERYWHERE here. Just because you haven’t seen it in your experience, doesn’t mean they aren’t common anywhere else in the world. I’ve told you they are all over the place here. Stop saying they are “highly specific and uncommon” just because it refutes your argument.
  3. Lol it’s not an exception. Obviously you haven’t been there or you wouldn’t be calling it an exception. It happens all the time. My buddy bought a Ferrari off some side lot in Miami for a FRACTION of what it normally costs. He’s still driving it too. It’s more common than you think.
  4. You clearly haven’t been to the off-brand used car lots in Miami and Ft. Lauderdale because it’s more than realistic. It happens. Maybe not a helicopter LOL but absolutely out of place luxury cars mixed with shit box cars. I could drive down US1 and find SEVERAL off-brand used car lots that way. They will sell almost anything they can get a good turnover on. Your assumptions are wrong about that, Im afraid. Let’s be real here, most dealerships on this server are not going for a legitimate manufacturers dealership or a CarMax.
  5. I would much rather this. Every intersection is a 4-way stop. Just stop. Check for cars, then go. It takes the guess work out of it. You’ll get people who will argue their time isn’t worth stopping but I choose to ignore them and let them get punished IC’ly 🙂
  6. The occasional car? The garage that advertises in the /ads doesn't flip the "occasional" car, it's 10-15+ at a time. That's actively flipping. As its been said before, realistically you're not allowed to sell more than 4-5 cars per year without having a business license to do so, in most states in the US. Sure that time frame wouldn't apply here, but if you're selling 4-5 cars a month (more in line with our time frames), then you either have a portrayal issue or you're selling cars on the side in which you should apply to be a dealership. Either way, standards need to be applied fairly to everyone. Mobile dealerships shouldn't be allowed. @Mahitto Pretty much summed up the rest of what I would've said in response. So that's that 👏 Easiest way to do this is to scriptly limit the amount of vehicles someone can sell per month and in order to increase that, they apply for it through PM and become a dealer. Same process that PM enforces with real estate, where you have to apply to have more than a certain amount of properties as a real estate company.
  7. @St3fan[NL] @Nervous Might be worth looking into. I’ve seen several instances myself where the lights were no longer synced and others here have reported issues. It becomes an issue when the IC penal code says to stop at a red light but if it’s not red on everyone’s screen, it might be an issue 😂
  8. Dealerships shouldn't be limited to any sort of specific class or type of vehicle. What? I've seen plenty of small chain dealerships that sell anything from a piece of crap junker all the way up to a luxury SUV or vintage classic muscle car. Geographic location shouldn't matter either. If that's what is open during the time a player is online, that's what they'll go to. People's choices shouldn't be limited to specific dealers based on what they own because now you're limiting people via time zones and when they play. No thank you. Mobile phone dealerships should be against the rules, period. It's poor portrayal in most cases, let's be real. How many of them find a vacant lot they don't own and spawn all their cars during the times they are buying and selling? Rhetorical question. They don't. It would be illegal to set up shop in a lot you don't own. They abuse the /vpark and /vget when buying and selling. This shouldn't be up for discussion. It's a crap portrayal and basically ignores the standards set in place for legitimate dealerships. Right now its blatant money printing without being held accountable for character portrayal, since you don't have to apply for a business, business location to store the cars and the other standards legitimate dealerships are expected to uphold. You really want to sell cars for the RP? Apply the right way and get yourself a dealership.
  9. Yeah, I shouldn’t be forced to RP a city that has 100 people in it when they are online. It sounds ridiculous even saying it lol
  10. There are plenty of logistics companies IRL that specialize in transporting fuel, who don’t own any sort of plant or tanks. They just transport it. No reason it should be restricted in that way.
  11. Kind of have to agree with this. I love the idea behind RICO cases and the theory that it will push criminal factions to become more imaginative, but you don't want to punish a good faction by shutting it down this way. Good factions will ultimately go along with these investigations as @Koko said, since it brings a lot of interesting RP to the table for everyone involved. Maybe consider a different approach that would enforce temporary measures or guidelines meant to temporarily put that group or faction at a disadvantage, rather than a permanent closure. Give them a chance to build back through IC measures and give the leaders a choice on whether or not they want to continue the faction in a different way. Don't take that choice away unless its for an OOC reason like repeated rule breaking or RPQM involvement for low RP standards. We want to encourage faction continuity and longevity, if its kept up to standards.
  12. Sounds promising. Hopefully it will lead to good things for everyone 🙏
