  1. This is a very nice way of putting it 👌
  2. Agreed, too many what-ifs where crypto is concerned. Definitely think the way to do it is head into the future and learn sports results/winning lottery numbers so you can get as many big wins as you like, almost infinitely increasing your money from today even if you only have £1. A cool way to do it would be to go back in time, acquire a large amount of gold/jewels and bury them somewhere... But that's going to require you being a bit of a hero, and even with an AK47 in medieval times it still only takes one arrow to take you out 🤔
  3. I think (hope?) there was a hint of sarcasm in vralf's response 😄
  4. Yup, I know I need it too! But how do you bring yourself to write a page (two pages!) on this? Probably doesn't help I haven't written actively in close to a decade... I like this idea, but I'm so disorganised I can't even find the backstories for a couple of the characters I already have running around. Just seems like a pipe dream 😄
  5. Title says it all really! When it comes to creating new characters, I typically have a general idea of them in my head/a few bullet points about their history, experience and goals. Where I then fall to pot is trying to translate this vague concept into a 500+ word backstory - which feels necessary when making any application with that character (not just to admins for properties or businesses, but to other players for faction admittance or whatnot). How do you get through the writers block? Is it really necessary to have a 500+ word story, or is a bullet point list fine? Is it appropriate to throw a character backbone into chatgpt and have it do the prose for you? And also - once you’ve created your character and written your backstory, do you consider it appropriate to make edits to this backstory later on?
  6. Name: Fuck12 Comment: SD spending too much time in Davis, everywhere's Grove Street when they around
  7. I also, volunteer Atzerri to make 1:1 accurate shells that people can tweak.
  8. It already exists… I’ll be going to the Gentleman’s Wardrobe asap 😁
  9. I mean - player ran clothing shops, selling full outfits via /shareoutfit. Please don't make me make any more outfits. I will pay you. 😟
  10. More what I'm reading is 'FLD don't like having to do the painful volunteer work but do it out of necessity'. That says to me let's change the system to something that doesn't involve so much human oversight at every little step of the process. The ideas I and others have thought of typically involve a higher level of automation, which in itself would be quicker. I would love to see good cause removed and the broken exam be fixed, but I'm not sure this fixes everything.
  11. This I have been in FLD Discord on and off since January 2022, I have been kicked at least once in that time for trying to have a discussion similar to this one. Also been kicked for trying to nudge an application politely! I completely agree with you. Can we come up with a better, automated system that doesn't cause FLD and players to spend so much time and energy on virtual bureaucracy? Thank you! It is - and my reissuance has been sorted! But I shall keep the thread open as I said I would. 😄 I like this suggestion - or at least, generally removing unnecessary human touchpoints on the application. Payment validation always drove me crazy... I can't answer your question, but I like your suggestion. I think the license(s) should be acquirable in game, with an automated test (if applicable) and an automated check on your criminal points/charges. Also some basic checks on how many hours the character has, whether they have a valid residential address... There may be some exceptions but for the majority this would speed things up massively and keep it in game. We completely realise this - but they don't seem to be having much fun, and we're not having much fun waiting. Why not try a better plan? I am more than happy to amend the title to "FLD and LFM are not working together" if that makes you feel better? My point remains - out of everything in GTAW, FLD is the most jarring, long winded and painful process of them all - and I've just got my helicopter license. Thank you. Let's ask them to make it less complicated?
  12. Appreciate that, been hearing it a long time though 😞
  13. @Nervous could we look into a system like this? The current system is not working 😟
  14. I understand and appreciate all of these points - I never said 'PF abuse was super high', but I do believe the current system is open to persistent abuse from people who are half smart about it. I don't think a strict automated process (with SOME human oversight) would be the worst idea, but what would be your idea of a better system? (I'm not asking you to do it, just curious what you'd imagine in a perfect world!)
