  1. But this wont happen, as they've stated before, so we might as well at least try to get them to be something we can purchase on their own, rather than a whole gold rank.
  2. I agree with this. Buying account bound or character bound walkstyles should be implemented - I'd be a great addition, since walkstyles are genuinely a good way to enhance someone's RP. A one time purchase would be ideal.
  3. But it is a roleplaying game that is based entirely on writing?
  4. This is the wildest thing I've read. The character in the screenshot isn't a lesbian, no. But... how is that relevant? Aren't mallrats the players who don't contribute with anything to the community and just idle on facebrowser and all that? Maybe the term 'mallrat' is undefined, or has way too many definitions. The /me makes perfect sense if you're someone who enjoys that style of writing, and it is well-written. There's no need to diss the form of writing in it if you're not a fan of it, or if you can't keep up with it.
  5. It is true, though - we can't coexist, at least not without bringing it up. One party will always stumble on the other, and ultimately, either end will have their experience soured by the other - whether that happens because of a hastily copy-pasted "/me draws gun"-esque emote, or because of an emote that holds a more complicated structure and a few words that ought to be googled, or an OOC remark in /b, worst case. I, as a roleplayer, am able to integrate myself in just about any sort of roleplay and every form of it, but that eludes the essence of the topic - this is an issue that doesn't really have a core, and I don't think it can be expunged entirely. And still, with all the odds, this is still a text-based platform where you play pretend with fictional characters - roleplay in its ultimate form, regardless of the actual platform. Being part of this, and by default, whether you like it or not, you're a writer and a reader - so you might as well try to be decent at it, if not good. And as a writer/reader, I find it baffling how writing which cuts form into lush details and compelling storytelling can really lead to sourness when met.
  6. Hello, hello - a friend and I have been wondering why extensively written emotes, literate descriptions, and overall, literacy in GTAW is somewhat frowned upon(at least in our experience). We've sort of established that while GTA is a more fast-paced environment, and we understand that meticulous writing isn't everyone's cup of tea, we can't quite comprehend why are the players who indulge in it frowned upon. This is a recurring thing on our side, where the majority of people genuinely avoid other roleplayers who like writing with passion and substance - I've got plenty of screenshots of people's reactions when it comes to them encountering well-written sentences with more complicated words, but I'll just go with a singular one that is taken by my friend, and is a few days old, and perfectly captures what I'm on about. We've been scouring the city specifically for avid writers, and we've only found a /few/ out of the hundreds of people that are on the server. So, we sort of decided to try our luck on the forums - we're on the lookout for similar entities like ourselves, ones who enjoy a good back-and-forth exchange of words.(We're wanting to convene with other people who enjoy prose and shape a little community. If the server can't hand us down what we want, we'll try to make it ourselves. Get in touch via PMs or discord and we'll take it from there, we're creative!) Also, we're curious to hear other people's takes on this - are we doing the wrong thing here, searching for substance in writing when it comes to composing intricate and compelling storylines for our characters whilst we don't focus on the actual gameplay aspects, or are we simply failing to come upon these gems hidden in the community? As someone who comes from WoW roleplay, I can tell that GTA RP isn't the best breeding ground for these adventures and literary works, but since I've encountered similar people, I know they exist, but I'm really curious about other opinions. I see a lot of people who struggle with storytelling and narratives, and since I come from a place where these things prove crucial for the quality of roleplay and the overall state of it, are these things considered an issue for GTA, even though it is a /writing/ game?
  7. May 19, 2023 | NEWS Former Senator's Staffer denies conspiracy allegations and explains her story This Wednesday, in the early hours of the morning, Luca Giraldi released a recording that highlights a vocal exchange. In the written post, he recites an elaborate explanation of the events, in which he dons good graces, noble intent, and embellishes himself as a man of the people. The story invariably provoked the readers, and it evokes a gnawing curiosity about it - how would this story be told by the accused woman from the recording? As made apparent today, Luca Giraldi resigned on his own accord to prevent his incoming impeachment. The aforementioned recording was released two days ago in an open letter - and here, the accused young woman elaborates on the story. We established contact with the woman, and she explained the story in-depth; from the beginning of the night, to the very end of it, and the consequential aftermath. She will be referred to as Ellen. "The threats against me... Were subtle to say the least; I'm sure he'd deny the accusation, but... I just wanted to bring some context to why I hadn't reached out. I thought about getting a lawyer. For defamation. Especially now. Well, he outright said, if I was to do anything that pushed him further, he'd make sure to make my life rather difficult. " Told us Ellen when our journalists inquired; according to her words, Luca Giraldi warned her that if she were to speak about the events on any legal, social or media platform, consequences would follow. "Well... After he had met with Senator Rossi, which... Seemed to be more of an act of desperation? Senator Giraldi had made it clear to me. He would fold on his stance, against the death penalty, if Rossi was to consider abstaining from the vote." Ellen continued to enlighten us - during her time alongside Luca Gilradi, she told us that she felt as if handling his impeachment was solely placed on her, and her only - she shared how Luca Giraldi schemed, and that he tried to "bargain" to earn votes in his favor. Next, we asked about the night in which all of it occurred. "It started with him telling me that I need to "learn how to drive." And that, even if I was a "woman staffer", I could do a "decent job". He had mentioned as we started driving, that if I was a "yes woman", he'd have me fired, immediately." Ellen explained, as they set out for a drive - this was after Luca Giraldi had shown her his recently acquired property in the hills, which he renovates. During this whole night, Luca had been incredibly affected by the recent course of events - tension was rapidly brewing, and he was prone to outbursts. Ellen was trying to maintain a sense of dignity around him, but she found it hard - he was armed with a firearm. The evening continued, and Luca Gilradi would endlessly ramble about distinct members of the Senate being traitors, claiming that the entire city is after him, and how the rules aren't a guideline that he follows during the ride. Ellen had initially asked him if he would like to be driven and left at home, but he refused. During the ride, Ellen also told us how Senator Luca labeled her as part of a "lower hierarchy" - comments along the lines of her being "beneath him", as he worded them, were often thrown around. Following this drive, Luca Giraldi had taken himself and Ellen to his home - a beach apartment, where he would show her a rich collection of art. Once inside, she was told to be barefoot and was provided with a substantially strong drink. Ellen shared the depth of Luca's character; how he was demanding, assertive, and sometimes, violent. She felt obliged to do her job, and if that would entail tolerating his behavior - so be it, even if she didn't know she would be subjected to continuous abuse. "I was off-put. And I'm not so easily moved to be awkward. The man does have his ways of making one feel uncomfortable. Pressured. And— I suppose I felt... Obligated, to some extent, to satisfy his needs." And the story comes to a halt - here plays the recording, and it twists the event - the situation escalates, and Giraldi kicks her out, and fires her; a reasonable assumption would be that the story ends here, but it gradually progresses into more. After being fired on the spot, she gets employed anew, and pawned off to Senator Isabel Garcia, who according to Ellen, was also subjected to Giraldi's maniacal and psychotic outbursts and deceit. On the following day, Ellen is brought into Senator Garcia's office, where Giraldi shows the well-known recording, and he accuses her of being a "spy" for a political rivalry, or as she told us, "he told me he knew my game". After pleading that she was no spy, and that she's entertaining no plot, Luca refused to believe such - still, he remained adamant and convinced that this was a "ruse". Once again, Ellen was fired, screamed at, and continuously called a "lying bitch", and told that she would never again set foot in the Senate. Since then, Ellen hasn't been working as a Staffer - but she comes forward, as she believes it is the rightful thing to do, to expose a man that hides beneath a cloak of false righteousness, good morals, and wears a veil over his true face. The story of Ellen aligns with Luca Giraldi's recording - she does not deny it. But she openly denies his allegations and conspiracies - he claims that this is all a plot, a theatre in which she is an undercover envoy, a spy sent by his political rivalries. Ellen describes herself as a professional, and that she was striving to do good work for the Senators - it was a demanding workplace, and she ought to be able to meet certain expectations. Repetitively called a spy, Ellen continuously denies such an allegation - Luca claimed she had ulterior motives, a web of deceit to serve her own interests, but the former Staffer denies all of it. "I didn't understand. My interests were to do good work. To consult. To be a staffer, for the Democratic Party, to all extent. And I was. I was a damn good worker... I was prompt. Timely. And loyal." This chapter has come to an end - earlier this morning, shortly after the hearing that took place in the Capitol, which lasted more than five hours, Luca Giraldi forwarded his resignment. He is no longer a representative of District 33, and the Chairwoman of the Democratic party Diana Jones announced the end of his tenure. 9. May 17, 2023 | NEWS Heated politics; Giraldi accuses Lt. Governor of a threat, Noah Wade denies; Brandenburg calls Giraldi confused Andrew Brandenburg, Carry Saunders, and Luca Giraldi LSN hosted a talk show earliear in the afternoon, where Carry Saunders invited two very prominent political figures; Republican Senator Andrew Brandenburg, and Democratic Senator Luca Giraldi. Topics that were tackled in the show were the controversies surrounding the budget affair with the DA's Office, the quarrels between the two representatives, accusations stretching out to Lt. Governor Noah Wade, and the most recent event; the confession of Senator Luca Giraldi, which cut a written-form in an open letter earlier this morning. Senator Giraldi shedded light on some affairs that took place behind closed doors during the DA's Appropriations Metting - as it took place, Luca Giraldi felt opressed by Noah Wade, claiming that he was threatened to vote accordingly in a certain way, as the Lt. Governor dictated. The District 33 representative also said that Wade threatened to circumvent those who did not comply with him and his suggestion, whilst five Senators attended the meeting. Senator Brandenburg immediately denied the aforementioned accusation, and said the following; 1870 came in contact with Lt. Governor Noah Wade immediately after the show concluded to issue an official statement to regard the allegations made that the President did in fact, threaten the senators to vote accordingly with his bidding. Noah Wade denied the allegations made that he threatened the Senators with circumvention, and he provided us with the following statement; In the early hours of the morning, Senator Giraldi published an Open Letter that canvassed a sensitive matter; he came forward on his own, painting himself with innocence before a potentially ill-willed peer could label him with ignominy. It comes off as an earnest confession, which is entirely unrelated to the recent political affairs that have held the spotlight - but many readers and commentators are convinced that it is entirely fabricated, and only serves the purpose to beseech sympathy during the hardships that he has undergone. There is no evidence at hand to shed truth to either alternative - and even his political rivalry, Andrew Brandenburg, finds the scenario do be prone to suspicion. The original post by Senator Giraldi includes a plethora of hateful comments, hashtags that support his impeachment, and a handful of images that mock his image - which wont be included, but are broadly circulating the social platforms. 11. May 15, 2023 | NEWS Senator Brandenburg addresses the DA Office's budget controversy and the call to impeach Senator Giraldi Republican Senator Andrew Brandenburg Republican Senator Andrew Brandenburg discusses and addresses the recent events that have taken place in an interview with 1870; the budget denial of the District Attorney's Office, the impeachment of Democratic Senator Luca Giraldi, and the political feuds. In the last weeks of April, Senator Brandenburg introduced a bill that sought to appropriate funds for the Office of the Los Santos District Attorney for the period of Q2, otherwise known as LSDA Q2 APPROPRIATIONS ACT OF 2023. Following shortly, Senator Luca Giraldi submitted an edited act that severely cut the DA Office's budget and according to him, it was shortened by seventy percent. As of today, Senator Andrew Brandenburg addressed the matter publicly; following the Lt. Governor Noah Wade's call for the removal of Luca Giraldi, whom he refers to as the "conspiracy theorist of District 33", Brandenburg brought to attention his thoughts on the matter, along with a Senate Resolution, referred to as S.R. 37 - Resolution to investigate and impeach Senator Luca Giraldi. Source; FaceBrowser For the following interview, Senator Andrew Brandenburg will be referred to with the initials A.B, respectfully, and the journalist will refer to herself as V.A. V.A: I'm so glad you agreed to come today. Let's talk politics. I believe you know why I have called you in today - tension has been rapidly brewing lately, and it began escalating to newer heights as of today. Let's talk about one of your peers at the Senate, Luca Giraldi. As we've seen before, Democrats and Republicans have always contended to maintain a common ground; and in this case, the correspondence seems far more convoluted. What do you think of Luca Giraldi? A.B: I believe that Senator Giraldi joined a game that he did not understand at all, or he just had a flawed understanding of what being a Senator means. I can safely say that Senator Giraldi put on a hat too big for him, and, to this day, he fails to understand that making a lot of noise just to fill up your political agenda isn't a good long-term way of maintaining the faux image of being a hero. While he raises a lot of ruckus, claiming he does so in the interest of the people, we can clearly see that his actions actually cause the contrary. Constantly picking up fights, nitpicking and gnawing, does nothing but harm the Senate's workflow, ergo, leading to prolonged sessions for a simple majority which, eventually, leads to a blockage. Once the blockage comes, budgets are put on hold, bills are stalled because of constant nitpicking, what does he do? He blames the Republicans. When the Republicans defend themselves and put him in his place he calls them fascists. Because he has no logical argument left. Let's not forget that Luca Giraldi is the one Senator that voted against a bill sponsored by his own party, just because they probably had some internal strife. So, apart from acting immature during Senate meetings, Senator Giraldi also puts his own ego higher than important things, higher than the people, higher than the State. V.A: In an interview with the ‘LS Insider’, Senator Giraldi admitted to defunding law enforcement agencies, and that he cut seventy percent of the DA Office’s budget. Why do you think that is? A.B: That night I realized how the Democrats really play. A few weeks prior, Diana Jones came to me to ask for a bipartisan effort on a bill. I was open for discussion, but did not give her an answer straight away.. That night, with the DA Office's budget, I realized that they're doing foul play. It was the only night the Democrats had a majority over the Republicans, and their attitude was absolutely different from how it was prior to that. They wanted no compromise, no middle ground. That made me realize that the bipartisanship was just a mask that they were wearing in order to get us to help them. Once they didn't need us, they had no intent to show bipartisanship or compromise. Other than that, that whole DA Office budget thing was clear foul play. As you can see on the Senate's public platform, a few minutes after the session ended, Senator Giraldi sponsored a bill to fund the remaining seventy percent that he cut. So, that can mean only two things. They either just wanted to stall everything and nitpick at the DA's Office, or they wanted to submit the bill themselves to pose as heroes. Anyway, whatever that was, it did nothing but hinder the prosecution in this State and, of course, to destroy any chance of bipartisanship until the day Giraldi resigns or is impeached. So, yes, in short, they stalled everything and created a ruse, just to fill up the political agenda, not giving a damn about the damage they caused. V.A: Let's move on to the most recent events. First the Governor called for Luca's impeachment, and now you officially push the resolution. Elaborate on the motive with a few words. A.B: Lieutenant Governor Wade called for Giraldi's impeachment due to Giraldi having no respect for the State Executives and because he said absurd things, accusing Noah Wade of authoritarian attitude, when, in fact, Wade issued an Executive Order for budgets, because the Senate was unable to meet in that month. So, basically, Noah Wade saved the State budgets and Giraldi comes and calls him a dictator. Also, probably the most dangerous thing, Giraldi wants to amend the Constitution. Basically, he says that the Constitution is not good enough. Modifying the Constitution, the fundamental act that guarantees our freedoms, can create a very dangerous precedent. If you modify it now to cut from the Lieutenant Governor's rights, you might as well modify it next time to cut fundamental rights from the people. And, of course, Noah Wade knows this and realizes how absurd and how dangerous Giraldi's plans can be. Add that to the circus he created in the Senate, and, of course, he called for Giraldi's impeachment. However, their personal strife does not concern me. The decision to work on this impeachment resolution was mine alone, and I also discussed it with my colleagues, presenting them both sides of the coin. After Giraldi's interview, when he started lying again, I decided it was time to put a stop to his nonsense. V.A: We witness a constant feud on the social media platforms, and I must ask - are the interactions with Senator Geraldi just as tense when you're corresponding in the Senate? A.B: Well, I can say that Senator Giraldi is one man, and Luca Giraldi is another. Those things you see in the Senate? Just a ruse. Circus made to impress his voters and make it look like he's actually doing something. V.A: When and if Senator Giraldi gets impeached, what future does the Democratic caucus have, in your opinion? They are already a minority, and losing a representative might prove to be crucial for them. A.B: Well, if Giraldi gets impeached, I believe it will be a great time for Diana Jones to reflect on the people she chooses for her team. Giraldi was never an elected Senator, as I am, or as Senator Rossi is. He was appointed. He never passed through the most important filter, and that is the people. The vote of the people, their decision, is the most important factor that validates a Senator. Anyway, without Giraldi, probably the Democrats will want to parley again and they will again seek "bipartisanship". V.A: Is there anything you'd like to tell the citizens of Los Santos? A.B: All I can say to the people of San Andreas is that we'll always be in their service. Whatever we do, we do in the greater interest of the people. Political games, circus like Giraldi creates, do nothing but put the welfare of the people at risk. And that is why we will stop this. 14. September 8, 2022 | NEWS Today, The State Legislature held a floor vote on four pieces of legislation, namely; the nomination for the Department of Fish and Wildlife, Frank Dooley as director, the nomination for the San Andreas Aviation Administration Administrator Nomination, Kathleen Rivers, Senate Resolution 33, a Resolution to honor the Late Prime Minister Shinzo Abe of Japan and lastly, S.B. 103, the San Andreas Treasury Act of 2021. President Pro Tempore Adrian Rossi opened the meeting with a moment of silence, in order to offer respect and honor the passing of Queen Elizabeth II. All four elements on the docket passed the vote. President Pro Tempore Adrian Rossi Firstly, the floor introduced the nomination for the Department of Fish and Wildlife, nominating Frank Dooley as the future Director. Senator Branch Goodwater requested time to voice his thoughts on the matter, stating his support with the following words - "I know Mister Frank Dooley to be the epitome of a public servant. He and I worked closely together during my time in the police department's leadership. He is tenured with the San Andreas Park Rangers, he has been in law enforcement of all types in our State for decades, and I believe his leadership will resonate throughout their department. I just wanted to say... He has my full support and I believe he is the individual that department needs to run an efficient and community-based agency." With no further requests for time, the nomination was pushed for confirmation. Senators Andrew Bradenburg, Luca Giraldi, Branch Goodwater and Scarlet summers gave their votes of support on the matter. Frank Dooley was officially declared as Director of the Department of Fish and Wildlife. Second came the nomination for the San Andreas Aviation Administration Administrator Nomination, Kathleen Rivers. Senator Luca Giraldy requested time to voice his opinion on the topic, stating the following - "As an airman myself, been a pilot for years in our State, I've seen the work of Kathleen Rivers as Interim Administrator being flawless, brilliant even. Kathleen Rivers was confirmed unanimously in the Committee of Commerce, Science and Transportation; in which she offered a detailed summary of her service to this country, including serving in the military. She has my firm support today, and it is my belief that the rest of the Senators present today will confirm her just as unanimously as she was confirmed in the Committee." None of the present Senators required time. The nomination was pushed for confirmation. Senators Branch Goodwater and Andrew Bradenburg abstained from voting, while Senators Scarlet Summers and Luca Giraldi voting positively for the nomination. The tie was broken by the President Pro Tempore's vote, which voted affirmatively. Kathleen Rivers was confirmed by the Senate as the S-A-A Administrator. Third on the docket was Senate Resolution 33 - a Resolution purposed to honor the late Prime Minister Shinzo Abe of Japan. The resolution was sponsored by the chair, purposed to recognize, give condolences to, and honor the late Prime Minister Shinzo Abe of Japan, and to each of his family members, colleagues, close friends, and to the nation of Japan. No time was requested before the vote was pushed. All present Senators voted affirmatively and the Resolution passed positively. The last introduced item was S.B. 103, the San Andreas Treasury Act of 2021 - a bill of amendment to the original act, sponsored by Minority Leader Diana jones. The bill states the following - "An act to establish the office of the State Treasurer, the Treasury Department, and the office of Contracting and Procurement for purposes of managing the State’s finances, budget, and investments.", quoted Adrian Rossi. Senator Andrew Bradenburg was recognized for time to voice his thoughts on the bill. "As I have stated during the Committee when the present bill was discussed, I do believe that the economy and budget are the true engine of a country. The present bill is, in my humble opinion, a good way to ensure that we have better transparency and knowledge regarding the budgets. As such, I say again, I strongly support this bill and I think, in the future, there should be paid increased attention to the macroeconomical aspects of our economy and to the financial affairs of the State." No further time was requested. Senators Scarlet Summers, Andrew Bradenburg and Branch Goodwater votes affirmatively, whilst Senator Luca Giraldi voted negatively. The chair votes affirmatively for the bill and thus, the bill will be forwarded to the Governor's desk, either for approval, or veto. 17. September 6, 2022 | NEWS On September fourth, a stabbing involving two culprits took place right in front of ULSA's doors. The victim is a local student, who was hospitalized immediately, whilst the two attackers were able to escape the scene at the time. As of earlier today, the two attackers were arrested. During the heat of the moment, a witness of the stabbing informed us that there was a Bobcat security guard present at the time, but they were occupied with their mobile device. ULSA petitions citizens to step forward with information, if anyone can recognize the two men illustrated in the footage. As a result of the occurred events, ULSA is no longer working with Bobcat Security and is working on strenghtening their Campus Security. In the following evening of September fifth, in the late hours, a Security Guard was found dead on campus. This was resulted from an altercation that took a violent turn and ended tragically. Initially, four individuals made their way to ULSA, with the intention to 'set up' a local student. The student in question did not wish to participate in the offered affairs and thus, refused, which led to the unfortunate event. After taking their leave, four masked individuals show up at ULSA, seeking to provoke a fight with a group of students, primarily consisting of women. When the four culprits began to lose what turned into a physical altercation, after the guard showed up, they pulled out their firearms, and shots were fired, which were lethal for the security guard present at the scene. The details about this event were anonymously described in-depth by a direct witness of it. The following image was published by a student from ULSA, expressing her concerns about the state of the city and the lack of safety around the educational institution. Citizens and students quickly began to voice and express their concerns over the matter, which caused a chain reaction on social media. They called out the poor conditions the state is in, and how they feel unsafe when they shouldn't. The blame is shifted between Bobcat Security Group, the PD and SD, and the legislators. Social media users express frustration primarily towards legislators, accusing them of introducing bills and laws that aren't beneficial for the more severe aspects that concern the state, whilst the PD are accused of only investigating crimes, not actively pursuing and handling them, nor serving consequences to culprits, and not regulating the possession of firearms. An immediate response followed by Senator Adrian Rossi, and LSPD's Assistant Chief, Timothy Gallagher. A meeting is held today in ULSA, among the campus faculty, along with Republican Senator Adrian Rossi to discuss internal matters regarding the future safety measures of ULSA's students. The press was denied attendance. No further details can be disclosed about the aforementioned meeting. It is of utmost concern that these events continue to occur at educational institutions. Sufficient resources ought to be provided for maximum school safety and to provide a stable environment for students to educate. A significant lack of security presence has led to a series of tragic and lethal events to take place, and that isn't something that the citizens will tolerate. The possession of illegal firearms, and firearms in general, is an issue that is deeply rooted in society and unfortunately, cannot be expunged entirely. But it can be curtailed and monitored far more attentively, with much more severe consequences for those who come to be in the wrong. A violent attack on campus, with firearms involved is absolutely unacceptable and unimaginable to even think of. "I'm of the belief cops don't actually stop crime, they merely investigate it. It's up to yourself to stop crime from happening to you, but this [redacted] government has us essentially at the mercy of gangbangers, unless I wanna risk my entire education fighting a murder charge because I defended myself from them. It's dumb, I just wanna study without knowing its a 50-50, whether I'm not gonna catch a bullet. Their priorities are skewed." A statement was provided to 1870 from an anonymous student from ULSA. With the absurd amount of money poured into their education, they expect to feel safe around school grounds. All the departments, including legislators, have activized ever since these events took place in the city, promising a change, but to what extent? How will the safety of those who wish to educate themselves in peace be guaranteed? Will the possession of guns be regulated properly? Will there be a more consistent, if not a constant presence of the departments in charge of keeping peace around ULSA and the neighboring areas? We look forward to receiving answers from the announced collaboration between Senator Adrian Rossi and the Assistant Chief of the Police Department. The saga is very chaotic and hectic, and the concerned opinions on social media continue to weigh heavy on the matter. 19. August 28, 2022 | NEWS On the 27th of August, the Appropriations Committee of the Senate hosted a session to delibate the Treasury Ammendment Act and host an inauguration. The meeting was held in the Capitol. The session was opened by Republican Senator Adrian Rossi, who introduced the newest Senator and further on, held the procedure of inaugurating him. Branch Goodwater, whom the city previously was familiar with as Chief of the Police Department, proudly recited the oath with a free will and swore his allegiance. After lending his signature to the papers, the newly instituted Senator addressed the attendants and the audience. Adrian Rossi; Branch Goodwater; Ex-Chief of the Police Department, Branch Goodwater "Ladies and gentlemen, Senators, dignified guests. I guess I'll start by saying... here we are again! Truly, it is lovely to see all of you gathered here today in support of your State Senate and all the fine work they're doing. It's an honor to be involved in the betterment and shaping of our State, now so more than ever. It is truly wonderful to see the citizens of our beloved state here, involved, and taking the time to be better educated about how our government works. I will do my absolute best, without falter, to contribute to our caucus' mission. There is always work to be done, and I will devote my heart and soul into this incredible opportunity. I'd like to thank the plethora of familiar faces I see before me today, who have stood by me in those dark alleys at night as a beat cop, who covered me, protected me, and are still here to this day. God bless you men and women. God bless you all, God bless San Andreas, and God bless the United States of America. Thank you so much." After Goodwater's speech, the Committee of Appropriations gathered to deliberate Bill 103, or otherwise known as the San Andreas Treasury Act of 2021, and the proposed amendments, brought to light by Democratic Senator Diana Jones. She addressed the hectic situation of the State's treasury, and the issues around it, such as; delayed payments, lack of budget information, unexplained omissions, statuses of contracts and more. Her amendments strive to provide a state of transparency for the State's treasury and the state of it. "We don't know where the money comes from, where it goes, how much of it is spent. I've put a document up for the record that suggests several oversight topics and makes suggestions to the senate, authored by Francis Ernst. The document mentions 'secret budgets', which are exactly the budgets that bill one-oh-three aims to bring out into the light. The people pay the taxes; it ought to be published where their money goes." The state Treasurer was absent during the hearing and therefore, Senator Diana Jones' questions were given no answer, but her point weighs heavy; the people deserve to know where their money goes. Senator Diana Jones; Followed after her introduction, the present Senators addressed the aforementioned amendments and offered their support for it, with no objections or to the suggested changes. The discussion was quick and it was pushed to a vote. It was passed unanimously and pushed forth for full Senate consideration.
