  1. Obviously my comment wasn't to be taken literally, I meant that a lot needs changed and there isn't just one solution. This is a combination of several different things from people who are in power and holding their positions, hackers, etc etc. I truly cannot name every issue because it would take way too long. A lot needs to change before we can consider illegal rp being seen in a positive light again.
  2. Why did you post a general discussion to discuss your death man? Just post a report if you care that much... Or a faction report.
  3. Seems less like a general discussion and more of a thread to bash a faction because something didn't go your way. If they killed you just for making a mean comment that's obviously DM, anyone with half a brain can put that together.
  4. Illegal RP in its current state needs to be nuked a full restart. It's stuck in this horrendous loop right now. * Suppliers don't actually do their job, they just trade with other suppliers and gatekeep their supplies for their friends. * Everyone hacks. * Official status is way too gatekept. * The umbrella factions are all meh at best. * Everyone seems to be allied with one another, afraid to politic or do wars at all due to admin intervention. * OCGs act like gangs and gangs act like OCGs. ^ The above just scratches the surface, I'm not trying to be super negative here but it's the reality. There is no 1 solution, it's going need changes from the top down. Certain people are holding certain positions just to hold them, they have no interest roleplaying the actual concept. The rules are backwards, the current faction system is TOO hard to become official but too EASY to be an unofficial group. It just needs nuked.
  5. Restriction is dumb, but IFM should just look more carefully into where supplier shit is going. If its going from one supplier faction to another and not reaching the smaller guys (such as the gangs) at one point, its just dumb.
  6. More micromanagement of illegal roleplay, just what we need!
  7. IC law is meh, making it illegal to wear a mask at all accomplishes nothing, because wearing a mask is already enough reasonable suspicion to preform a frisk most of the time. The problem is truly just the enforcement on people wearing masks, the person is either too minor to raise concern (someone just walking around the LTD with a mask), or four deep in a fully maxed STX which you have a very low chance of keeping up with. A lot of people wear masks just to wear masks, they aren't wanted nor have any real opps who are hunting for them, rather they just want to hide their nametag to mask their identity. There's not too much you can do from both an OOC standpoint (Unless you make it so you can't wear masks unless specific circumstances which is dumb) or IC (Make a law which won't get enforced because it'd just be a misdemeanor) A law would just make it so officers can frisk / search anyone with a mask, which most times the mask alone is already enough without a law. - The only real fixes would be through IC means such as pressing people who come around you with a mask on. If you're a civilian and someone is being shady with a mask on, slip away to call the cops, that's completely normal. If you're more on the illegal side of things press them to take it off (within reason).
  8. Why do you need an AIR unit that has an extremely overpowed camera to CAMP robbery hotspots? Law enforcement have more than enough tools to limit the amount of violence caused by gangs. (Stop and frisks, more frequent patrols (In cars, obviously), search warrants, and so on). You don't need facial recognition nor a million combat crime, its just the lazy way out. I must rather prefer the actual investigative side of investigations rather than having everything handed to you.
  9. Right idea, wrong execution. Gang injunctions do nothing except kill illegal roleplay majority of the time, plus the people who preform these low quality muggings aren't apart of factions. Lets not punish people who've put the effort in to create a faction. Gang injunctions don't really accomplish much on the server, law enforcement roleplayers have plenty of effective tools to stop gangs which works just fine. With that said, I am completely for IC consquences, just not injunctions. Robbery task forces exist in both the LASD, LAPD, the implentation of them here could work well. Additionally, more patrols in robbery hotspots would also work well.
  10. I don't think the rule is too much of a problem , I haven't seen admins be upset over you parking around the corner and hopping out. It makes the robberies a lot more immersive if you approach on foot rather than pull up right in front of the victim and hop out with four guns. The biggest problem was the quality of the robbery roleplay being preformed. A lot of time it was just 4 people with no intention to RP, they weren't apart of any faction and were just looking for guns. Imo, if IFM is going to lock unofficial groups behind an application, why not give them some freedoms and leeways rule wise? Make it so if you're apart of an unofficial group you can rob with a vehicle. - Robberies really aren't and weren't as bad as people make them out to be. They mostly happened during low-pop times (200 players and less) and generally happened as a result of ignorance. Don't walk alone in shady alleyways, be more aware of your surroundings, you won't get robbed as much.
  11. Script and privileges... Does anyone really care about a faction script of privileages? I no longer roleplay in the illegal scene, but I believe people just want to roleplay with their friends. Nothing about script or privileges.
  12. How do you establish a quality roleplayer from a non-quality roleplayer? Admin record? This isn't aimed at any specific faction, but I've seen groups who are very seasoned roleplayers with several official factions under their belt be denied.
  13. I brought this up when the concept was first introduced to the submission of groups, its unpractical and doesn't really work. The only players this punishes is those who actually want to roleplay. Its meant to deflect bad roleplayers, and mainly deathmatchers and trolls, but the idea itself that you have to go through an application promotes more DMing and trolling than it deflects. If I want to go DM and troll, I don't need a faction to do that, I can just get together with my friends and go provoke someone until we get a shootout. What I cannot do however, is go roleplay a faction with my friends and have fun. - Another big issue with this concept is that people who are getting denied and being denied for the most vague reasons ever; "We don't have faith in this group of roleplayers", "Problems involving previous factions.". To put it simply, why aren't these issues being brought up when factions exist, rather waiting until post-archive to arise such issues? The gang roleplay and illegal spectrum as a whole's quality has tanked to an amount that is uncomphendable since this rule has been put in place. Previously, I could drive around Davis and see so many different factions posted up, people roleplaying, now? I'm lucky to see 5-10 people as a whole. #MAKEILLEGALRPFUNAGAIN
  14. O M G! When is the next episode!!! This has me on the edge of my seat
  15. In my opinion, the way to most fairly do a system like this to avoid complaints from both sides is to make drugs NOT give any benefits such as faster speed, longer stamina. just make it so; u run x amount before slowing down. this prevents people from going superman during fights/foot pursuits and it also prevents ppl from just abusing drugs to dust cops. - i dont think that longer stamina if drugged would be a huge problem (due to cops having teamspeak and surplus of vehicles), however I can see the disappeal to make this a thing due to drug benefits.
  16. Theres a thread week complaining about the state of illegal RP, nothing is done about it. Literally every illegal faction has begged for car robberies to be re-added, what happened? Nothing. Theres an IFM discord, however theres never much going on in there, no discussions are being had about how to improve the state of illegal RP, just more people needing help with specific things such as schemes... Please don't take this as me bashing the IFM team, as its not that, I just believe with the current state of illegal RP, the team is being way too reactive as apposed to proactive which it should be doing in order to fix the current state. Some serious change needs to happen, I'm curious to see if any member of IFM would be willing to give an update with whats happening with illegal RP right now, as its clearly in a state of drought.
  17. Very true brother... Everything is application based and for starters, to free up the scene a bit more I would enjoy removing the application to become a group. I have recently been through this proccess in which my faction took nearly two weeks to get accepted and by then people had lost motivation / joined other factions. Activity was mentioned and its very true that these days Davis is a ghost town, why? Because no one wants to go through an application before having to roleplay... If we look pre and post application requruiment to submit a group, the activity was pretty decent and then all of a sudden took a nosedive. - Also, I already know the comment is coming, so I'll adress it now. The application hasn't weaded out the bad apples, at all, the quality of RP has infact only decreased since the application was put in place. The 'bad apples' used to be able to be easily identified due to their group, however now? They just roam around in DM squads and kill people and it is practically impossible to track them. At least when they had an unofficial group they had SOME sort of responsibility on the server. #MAKEILLEGALRPFUNAGAIN
