GUEST ARTICLE BY FATHER LOGAN PRICE Hello Brothers and Sisters, I come to you today with a different sort of post. Thanks to getting into contact with LSNN, I'm now going to be writing a weekly column on all things Christian, particularly Catholic, that I hope will be of interest to our community. So keep an eye out for those, and many thanks to our friends at LSNN, especially Dennis Sidwell, for allowing my musings. I want to talk to you all today about Love. With a capital L. Universal Love, that we all can share in. We all know what love is in it's singular use, we've all experienced love in some shape or form, whether it's platonic, romantic, reciprocated or unrequited. Everyone knows what love is and how to love. But so many of us keep our sphere for sharing our love small. Our family and closest friends. People we know well and choose to spend our time with. But the world always needs more love and we need to give more love. Not only does the person receiving that love feel better, we also benefit from opening up and sharing. Now I'm not suggesting you need to get on your knees to every person you meet, but maybe try being a little more friendlier to those we meet. A little kinder, a little more generous. Love is a universal word, Christians don't have a monopoly on love, but considering my experience of love mainly comes from God, I want to just talk about that for a moment. God tells us to Love Thy Neighbor as Thy self, but how many of us do that? Neighbor doesn't necessarily mean a person living next door, but hey drop into them for a cup of tea sometime or invite them over, Neighbor here I believe refers to whoever we are with in the present moment. Whether its a colleague at work, a person beside us on the bus, a homeless man we've passed in the street. Everyone and Everywhere needs love. So what's stopping you? In the Christian tradition we talk about God is Love, which helps us realise that all of creation is loving and lovable. No one is left out, no one is left behind. We have a surging homeless crisis in this city. They're people, worthy of feelings and desires, but how many of us just throw them some loose coins from our pockets. Why not take them for a coffee? Why not get to know their story? Why not give them some love? If we've lost contact with a friend, why not reach out? If a relationship ended in a fight, why not reach out? If you need help from someone, why not reach out? The famous Alexander Pope once said "To err is human, to forgive divine." There's a lot of wisdom in that but I want to take it a step further and finish on this. To love is human, to share that love divine. Our natural state as humans is to love one another. We've lost touch with communities and relationship with the invention of technology. Let's reclaim or natural way of being, our sense of community and connection. Go out and love!

  4. "Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously. Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver." - 2 Corinthians 9:6-8 Good Morning, Good Afternoon, Good Evening and Good Night!!! Hello brothers and sisters, today I bring great news. I'm sitting here today on the Broadwalk overlooking the beautiful sandy beach and the foaming waves. The sun is setting and the sea is sparkling. It's a time's like these when I try to find a moment's peace that I'm reminded of the beauty of God's creation. But it is not just this beautiful scenery that brings a smile to my face, picture below. My good friend and well known member of the community, LSNN Director Dennis Sidwell has come to me and has brought great news! (Dennis Sidwell) Allow me to announce that Director Sidwell of Los Santos New Network has chosen to help me in bringing the faith to the people, supporting my evening courses and helping me get set up in the city. To that end, Mr Sidwell has very generously donated $100,000 to the Diocese of San Andreas to help support our community. This money will go towards providing resources, such as booking rooms to hire, printing flyers, setting up homeless supports and creating safe spaces for our community. All of this is being done thanks to the immense generosity and goodwill of Dennis Sidwell. "Helping others is very important, it is one of my passions. I always try my best to help whenever it is needed. I'm glad that I could help the community and I hope that we can reach our goal. I'm a proud Catholic and strongly endorse the work of Father Price.", said Mr.Sidwell in a statement. Internationally acclaimed journalist, reporter, news anchor and editor Dennis Sidwell (35) has joined the LSNN management team on the 12th March. As a reporter, Sidwell has covered the most globally discussed events of the last few years. Mr Sidwell is based in Los Santos, managing all LSNN News broadcasting and editorial operations. It is a true day to rejoice as generosity is the message of my sermon this week, and now God and Mr Sidwell have provided this to us. I ask that for those who can give, support you local businesses and the charities offering services for the poor and homeless. We are all apart of God's family. With that message of hope and excitement, I will big you farewell for now. God Bless, Fr Logan Price. > Comments are enabled Username: Comment:
  5. **An email sent around to a variety of governing bodies and housing authorities** To whom it may concern, My name is Father Logan Price, the new parish priest for Los Santos and the surrounding area. I'm looking to hire a room for weekday evenings in order to run some courses and services for the community. I'm not sure who to contact, but if someone could assist me in acquiring a suitable location, that would be much appreciated. I'd be aiming to accommodate maybe 10-15 individuals, and each evening would run on a donation basis going to the owner with obvious advertisement and thanks given to the proprietor. Please let me know if you can offer assistance. Yours faithfully, Fr Logan Price **Email and Phone number are supplied**
  6. Name: MediaMonk Comment: I've met Mr Sidwell personally, I believe him to be an upstanding citizen who because of his tireless public service, sacrifices his good name and reputation to serve the citizens of this city As the Lord Jesus said; "Let he who is without sin, cast the first stone" I think we could all heed advice from this.
  7. Who am I and What Am I Doing Here? "To one who has faith, no explanation is necessary. To one without faith, no explanation is possible." -St Thomas Aquinas - photo courtesy of a kind passer-by Introduction Hello again brothers and sister, I have the joy of writing to you from this lovely little nook I found just up the road from the Church, the Little Teapot. It's got friendly staff, a warm atmosphere and some comfy chairs! As I sit hear sipping my tea, I'm reminded of my first time arriving in Rome. The excitement, the anonymity, the smell of coffee and the sounds of conversations buzzing around me, I've been really blessed in my life to live in such nice areas. But enough about that, I thought the best way to start a blog would be an introduction and a mission statement. Who am I? Why should you take your precious time to read my blog, what can I do for you? Well like me now, why don't you grab yourself your preferred beverage and get cosy. I'll try not to bore you! Little Ol' Me Well I was born and baptised Logan Nelson Price on August 8th 1986, wow has it been that long, in County Mayo, Ireland and born into a working class Irish family. My mother a housewife and cleaner and my father a hard working truck driver. I came from a big family, as was common in those days, I was the 3rd in line. A tradition in Ireland at the time was the eldest followed his father, the second son worked in the town and the third son entered the priesthood, so in some ways my course was already set. You might think that's a little unfair on that child, it's not his fault he was born in that particular place in the hierarchy, and you'd be right random internet reader, it is a bit unjust! But lucky for me, I had a particular attraction to that way of life before I even knew it would be my calling, divine inspiration you might say. Anyway a long story short I entered the seminary at age 18 and was ordained on Easter Sunday at the age of 26. I'll go into more detail with theses life stages later, but I completed a Bachelor of Divinity in Maynooth University as well as a Masters in Divinity, after a few years in my first parish, I headed off to Rome to the Gregorian University to complete my doctorate. After graduating Logan Price STB, STL, DD (the first in my family to go to university!) I was offered a job in Rome working for the Congregation for the Causes of Saints. An incredible opportunity to help push for the canonisation of very holy people! Thrilling and tedious work in equal measure, a lot of bureaucracy and paperwork, and while I like admin, I was missing working in a parish with regular people. I applied for a transfer back to a parish. Well the Bishop of the Archdiocese of San Andreas was a friend and happened to mention a previous parish priest had left so he got in touch and suddenly I was on my way to Los Santos! The Kingdom of Heaven My intentions here as new parish priest are multiple, I have a couple of projects I'd like to get up and running: A weekly homeless service, offering food and accommodation to the city's many homeless A weekly study group for practicing Catholics, offering guidance and opportunities for prayer and study Introductory courses in Theology, Bible Study and Catholicism for those looking to learn more about our religion Youth groups and services to ensure the youth of San Andreas can learn skills and values to lead them through life A Parish Newsletter, keeping everyone up to date on what's going on in their parish Big ambitions I know, but idle hands make the devil's work and I intend not to have idle hands! Hopefully as time goes on you'll see and hear more about this, not just on this blog but in person! And if you see me in person, do come and say hi! I better finish up, my tea has gotten cold I've gotten a bit immersed in this blog post over the exciting projects ahead. For now I take my leave, enjoy the rest of your day folks and God Bless. Fr Logan Price P.S Here's a photo of me with my new car (courtesy of the diocese) and outside our lovely Church.
