i genuinely dont know why or how people can look at this and not think its a good idea. ajails mean nothing. bans mean nothing. the punishments handed out are laughable sometimes for the rules broken. this is a good idea, honestly. +1

Detailed Description: Currently, only sergeants and up have location-less restrictions on using the /impound command. This sounds fine in practice, but there are many times when a supervisor isn't available, or is pre-occupied doing other things, or has to drive across the entire city just to impound a car. If public works isn't available, and there's no supervisors, you're kinda just SOL. I've had to call an admin over via /report several times for this before. Police already get access to way more powerful tools at the lowest of ranks - handcuffs, tazers, beanbag shotguns, etc. Why is /this/ where the line's drawn? Relevant Commands/Items: All you'd need to do is remove the location limitation on one command, that being /impound. How will it benefit the server? It'll benefit the server by not wasting the time of everyone involved. Admins, supervisors, etc. If people abuse it, then they'll just face OOC repercussions same as they would for abusing handcuffs, the arrestprison command, and all that.

as a member of both fd and sd, this isnt a good idea. all the 911 calls we get where both the location and situation is “aah help!” is beyond counting. irl a dispatcher would be able to keep talking to you, as well as try to get your location and what happened. on the server its scripted, obviously, but people just dont actually give the scripted dispatcher any good information beyond “MY HOMIE SHOT SEND HELP” twice.

as a member of the sheriffs department, no thanks. i dont wanna be a robocop who has to do everything by the books 100% of the time bc im wearing a bodycam. im here to give crim factions a realistic and enjoyable experience by providing them with a quality law enforcement faction that allows them to help build their characters, not look for every avenue to arrest someone. this would be a negative addition on both the leo side and criminal side.

money will NOT make it better and i say that as a member of both the lssd and lsfd factions. dmec gets paid by the BODY and there are zero shortages of people getting shot and killed on the server. yet there are almost 0 coroners on at 90% of the time the server is up daily? money isn’t everything bc script money doesn’t make u enjoy what ur doing if what ur doing is mundane and as repetitive as running gsw and mva calls all day long without a break

i dont get what this thread is trying to say, but ill give my two cents. on gmod we didnt use ck - we had pk and nlr, or new life rule. a pk or permanent kill is the gtaw equivalent of a ck, your character dies and thats it, theyre deleted. an nlr is your character dies but youre allowed to respawn without your items and its just rped as an unrelated npc dying in your stead. for example, charlie gets robbed by steven. the robbery goes south and steven kills charlie, but charlie wants to nlr, or pk in gtaw’s case, charlie is allowed to respawn and the situation is treated as steven robbing and killing a random person as opposed to charlie, hence why hes still allowed to take or loot charlie’s items.

the problem is that south central exists solely for people to conduct hits, rob people, form hostile relationships, and flirt with every female character that happens to wander into the area. rp quality is poor and portrayal isnt good
