A thread to discuss professional mixed martial arts and its promotions. We kick things off tonight, with a Fight Night headlined bout between previous featherweight undisputed champion Max Blessed Holloway, who was previously on a 13 fight win streak against an abundance of featherweight contenders, and Calvin Cattar, a clinical and efficient striker establishing a solid presence for himself. The first payperview event, and an excellent way to start off 2021, is UFC 257, headlined by a rematch between The Notorious Conor McGregor and Dustin Diamond Poirier at 155lbs LW. What's interesting about this fight is these two initially faced off six years ago, both as rising talent. McGregor won the bout via TKO in the first round. Since then though, both fighters have evolved immensely and it'll be interesting to see it come full circle and culminate in what can only be anticipated as a potential war. The co-main sees Michael Chandler, a previous three time Bellator Lightweight champion, take his UFC debut against Dan The Hangman Hooker, a prominent and quickly rising lightweight contender.
