Allow Gang Enforcement officers to roleplay jail characters
Narcito replied to Narcito's topic in Rule Suggestions
There is plenty of things stopping me from role playing a prison character. The fact that you get recruited by the car of your race the minute you land in jail is stopping me. It means I'd have to role play by myself instead of getting affiliated or recruited. I see no long term character development in role playing a loner in prison. Since I cant be affiliated with any car, because they’re considered illegal factions. -
Allow Gang Enforcement officers to roleplay jail characters

There is a rule that prohibits any officer of the SD or LSPD that's in the Gang Enforcement Detail to roleplay an alt that's part of an illegal faction. This is to prevent metagaming. I understand the rule and it makes sense, since a gang officer has access to multiple sources of information about the gang they roleplay in. However, a normal officer of the LSPD is allowed to roleplay an illegal character on their alt, while they still have a lot of access to certain information. As a member of the LSPD Gang Enforcement Detail, I really miss roleplaying in an illegal faction. And I accept that I can't join any gang on an alt. However, I've been thinking that while I can't roleplay a character of any illegal gang, I think it would make sense to be able to play a character that's in jail. When joining the LSPD you're going through a process in where you're heavily screened and evaluated to assure you're up to the standards of joining the LSPD in GTA World. I think you can expect all LSPD members to not engage in any metagaming or using any information from their legal character onto the illegal character for their own or other's benefit. Hence why they're allowed to roleplay illegal roleplay characters (except Gang Officers). Still there's always the risk of metagaming, but I don't think you can do a lot while you're roleplaying a prison character. That's why I suggest to offer the opportunity for any GED member to be able to roleplay a character that's in jail (for life) to offer some kind of illegal roleplay they can do while they're also roleplaying an LSPD Gang Officer.
