  1. A withdrawal limit would never work here, though. In real life, under normal circumstances, you don't withdraw a lot of money. GTA World works way differently, though. You can end up spending tens of thousands of dollars a day, if not more. If there was a limit to credit cards, you would be forced to not make any purchase for the rest of the day (which would be really hard not to, in lots of situations and for lots of characters). If the limit was high enough to accommodate for normal daily transactions, then people would just empty ban accounts. I don't want to see this being a thing at all, though (being able to use someone else's credit cards). Right now, robberies have a chance of not working out due to the victim not carrying money around. If people were able to steal and use others' credit cards, all robberies will have a 100% chance of working out. Even with an OOC limit. If someone doesn't have $5,000 on them, they most likely will have that in the bank.
  2. As it currently stands, the #newbie-help channel is used primarily for game and server-related questions while the #support channel is mostly being used for technical support. I believe it would be easier for everyone if the channels were renamed, one being for technical support and the other for everything else.
  3. I personally believe this is the best out of the options suggested. You should be able use a /toggle [low/long/none] command to switch through each mode (/toggle low would turn all of your text, /me's and /do's into /low, /melow and /dolow - you would still be able to toggle it off or use /t, /melong, /dolong and such if you wanted something to be seen from further away). If anything, the simplest solution would be if it were automatically set to a lower range while inside a business. If someone really needs to, they can use /t to talk normall or /s to shout, as well as the other similar commands. Most of the times, however, it's not needed.
  4. I believe the issue is a bit more complex than that and simply putting more properties on the market might actually prove to be counterproductive. If, say, 100 new county properties are added tomorrow, we might end up with everyone rushing to buy them because of their worth rather than how they fit in with their character and their story. Something definitely has to be done in this regard but most likely, property management and RPQM are well aware of the issue. Finding a solution is not that simple because even the smallest wrong decision will have an enormous impact on such a scale.

    Emails

I like that idea. It could just be a simple messaging platform which looks like an email client but not necessarily an email client. Even something as simple as entering a unique ID and having one of a few options of domains pasted as simple text afterwards (not actual domains).

    /district

I love this idea, I'd bring a ton of RP to lots of incidents which would realistically not go unnoticed. There's two problems I can see with it though, so how should those be tackled? 1. People abusing it. It's basically a small global OOC chat. I'm not talking about blatant rule-breaking but rather 10 people doing '/district Sounds can be heard coming from this barbecue' and a minute later another one about a car crash, another about a person screaming and such. 2. People using this to their advantage and in order to metagame by reporting events which are in the gray area like role-playing a brawl causing a lot of noise which can be heard around or someone mugging someone else and having a /district come in regarding the shouting which can be heard. Also, under realistic circumstances you wouldn't really be able to distinguish between such sounds. If you hear a large boom it can be anything from a car crash to a kitchen exploding in the distance to a manhole cover dropping on the ground. If you hear a pop it might be a single gunshot but it might as well be something random. I'm afraid this would cause people to immediately head over to know what each sound is exactly and even if the system only points out that a random sound can be heard, people will head out looking for it while realistically, most of them couldn't care less. I'm really into this idea but there's some major issues which need to be fixed or found a solution for.

    Emails

Short description: An in-game system to allow sending emails among characters. Detailed description: It's basically a simple system with an email interface through which you can send messages to another character (or multiple characters). It's basically an offline version of /sms with a touch. I personally believe that sending 'emails' through the forums and including a 'send me an email (( Forum PM ))' is extremely immersion breaking. As a side benefit, these emails can be accessible (received, sent and viewed) through the UCP as well on the page of each character and with proper role-play to back it up, can be acquired and used by the LSPD/LASD as evidence. Commands to add: /email + UCP access Items to add: N/A How would your suggestion improve the server? Quality of life addition; increases immersion; makes contacting other characters while offline possible; a more formal means of communication (i.e. an important businessperson or government official) would likely not send a text to their counterpart; Additional information: The command can be used anywhere and in any circumstances (except for a few obvious ones like being handcuffed or tied, in jail etc.). It will be up to everyone how they want to role-play it (laptop, phone, calling someone to send it on their behalf etc.)
  8. 219 ALTA STREET, HAWICK $15,000 / week Have you been looking for the perfect place to live? Here it is. An exclusive, cozy and professionally furnished standalone unit in the heart of Vinewood is now on the market. Located in one of the quietest and safest areas of Los Santos and close to most of the important landmarks of our city including banks, clothing stores, clubs, restaurants and bars, lounges, hair salons and tattoo parlors among many others, the place is already waiting for you. The unit features two bedrooms, a large open area made up of a living room and a kitchen featuring an isle as well and a bathroom. The entrance is remote, away from the street, ready to give you the privacy you need. The property also features three parking spots, as well as an alleyway with an exit and parking areas closer to the entrance. Contact Hugo Barrera by replying to this listing or via email in order to arrange a viewing and/or sign the contract. The property is pet-friendly, smoker-friendly and private parties are allowed as long as they don't disturb the neighbors. Guests are also allowed and welcome. One tenant is preferred but since the unit features two bedrooms, a discount can be given in case the tenant wishes to live with someone else. 9. I don't think this would work. We'd just have a lot of friends marry each other in order to have access to the same assets. It would also be impossible to determine who gets what upon divorce - there's complex records which might help make the decision in real life but it's basically impossible for a third party to determine who brought what items and who is entitled to what items. The JSA faction is also gravely understaffed, to my knowledge anyway, so trials would take forever (especially since there's more urgent ones which already take a long time). It could, however, work as an in-game addition to the JSA faction so that you would be able to officially marry someone on record, have someone oversee or officiate the ceremony and log it in some sort of records. I think that would be awesome to see. I've also seen a divorce attorney pop up, if I'm not mistaken, so there's that too.
  10. In order to change your character's name on the UCP you will need to purchase a name change with WP (World Points). You did not purchase one, hence it says you don't have any available. However, since you don't want to start a new character but rather just made a mistake, you can log in-game, do /report and ask an administrator to change your character's name to the correct version.
  11. I'm more interested in ideas for events rather than businesses and services, specifically something you could take part in or organize for work colleagues. All of the ideas so far are great and while some might not fit my specific purpose, they'll definitely fit that of others.
  12. I'm looking for some ideas for legal and passive group role-play scenarios. Although I have some in mind, I thought of posting here and getting some more, brainstorming is much more efficient. The group will be anywhere from 5-10 people to 55-60 people. Current ideas: Barbecue/house party Private venue/bar get-together Hiking trip Camping Game night Airsoft Football This topic could also act as a resource for anyone who's looking for similar ideas. I will update it as people respond. Any input is highly appreciated!
  13. I would personally like to see the notifications received on the UCP show in the browser's bar as well. It's sometimes hard to notice them considering how small the icon is, especially if you're using night mode. It would look something like (3) User Control Panel - GTA World (UCP).
  14. Guns are not the problem, the people abusing them are. Compared to the server population, this is a very niche segment. It still exists and it definitely disturbs role-play but guns themselves can't be blamed for any abuse that's going on. My opinion is that the punishments should be harsher and eventually people will get used to the new, higher standard. Reducing the number of weapons and whatnot will really not fix anything. Who wants to break rules will do so with a bat, a hammer or even with a vehicle. For the sake of example, my character who's in this Sheriff's Department is always armed. In the last three months, with a way higher than normal activity I haven't shot a single person, not on duty nor off-duty. I haven't been PKed once. It's, after all, the approach you consider with your character. If someone sketchy is circling you around, your best bet is to drive off or not engage. If you do engage, don't escalate it without a reason. No matter how though a character is, not many people would realistically risk dying, being seriously or even permanently incapacitated or, in some cases, criminal charges over an altercation which could not have happened. Sure, there's exceptions to this, but again, they're exceptions. Bottom line is that we shouldn't be looking into weapons but rather into the few people who misuse them.
  15. I have to agree with this. All of the updates are welcome but 1.1 would be the ultimate one at this point. Even if it's not polished yet, I didn't personally encounter any medium or major bugs to hinder my experience and was able to properly play and enjoy the game while the session lasted. During the first test session, it was impossible to log in or play and especially to role-play normally. The last, however, went great. The sooner it gets here, the better. That's my opinion, anyway. Any minor bugs which will appear can be fixed on the way and I'm sure most people would be happy.
  16. I fully agree. I myself have witnessed this two days ago in real life. I was walking down the street and found a gruesome murder, called the police but when they got there, everything just disappeared. I think that's extremely unfair because they thought I was crazy and took me to a psych ward! I can barely play GTAW now because of my straitjacket... on topic though, yes please!
  17. I'll have to disagree with this suggestion. Although I'm all for passive and especially camping role-play, this just isn't it. As Keane pointed out, the purpose of the Brickade was not to act as a normal, civilian camping RV but rather as an armored machine. It would be anything but realistic walking through the mountains and seeing a massive armored truck used as an RV.
  18. Buyout. (( @Paromance ))
  19. Looking to purchase a new generation Yosemite pickup truck and a Daemon Custom chopper. Please reply to this listing, email me at [email protected] or call me at 36030701 if you're selling either of them!
  20. I am personally against the vast majority of cases and suggestions where the script freezes your character. It would help in some cases but it wouldn't in others. It is something that should be roleplayed rather than forced.
  21. I personally do not understand this concept of illegal-only and legal-only characters. Real life is never that black and white. Legal characters (and people) do illegal stuff from time to time while illegal characters (and people) do legal stuff as well. If you character is that short on money even including their illegal activities, maybe it's time they get a job. There's lots of people in the ghettos who work minimum-wage jobs and such. Yeah, they still do illegal stuff on the side, they might even do illegal things on the job, here and there. It's all about IC circumstances. It doesn't mean that everyone who's poor should have a green light into going on robbery sprees, robbing everything and everyone and leveraging the fact that no one's going to catch them anyway because of the GTA World mechanics. The server is not ready for this limit to be removed though. There's lots of other issues that have to be ammended before something like this can even happen. It's not viable at the moment.
  22. Short description: Moving the advertisements from the chat into a menu which you can access via a command. Detailed description: Upon using the /ad(vert(isement)(s))(s) command (so /ad, /ads, advert, /adverts, /advertisement, /advertisements etc.), a menu will be brought up. It can either be a CEF menu (I believe they are called) or just a small, light, normal one. There's going to be four categories - All (all adverts), Private (for normal /ads), Business (for /bad) and Company (for /cad). This menu would also show in the X menu and in the I menu. Choosing either of these categories will show a live list of the adverts. 3 cool features that could be added An option inside the menu to use keywords and strings. A notification will be shown (like the SMS ones) whenever an advert containing your keyword or string will be placed (ex. "Kawaii", "House", "Out of Towners", "Hiring" etc.) An option to search through the ads based on specific keywords. (Optional) Whenever you post the ad, you could have the option of using a category (or none if you don't want to). We could have adverts divided between vehicles, properties, businesses, events, jobs, items etc. in the same place. The adverts would remain in the list until the person disconnects or removes them. Using /ad or /cad again (after 20, 15, 5 and 3 minutes as it is right now) will bump them to the top of the list. If the person posts a second advert, only the last one remains. It would not clutter the menu because everyone will either log off, crash, disconnect or delete their advert at some point. One way it could have been abused is if people were to post multiple versions of the same ad, thus populating the list with their ads only. This won't happen though, since only the last advert will appear on the list. I think this is pretty straight-forward and will go a long way towards helping people get in touch with one another without resorting to spamming /ad and hoping someone sees it on the spot. The chat would also be clean, the adverts neatly and simply organized and the menu easy to navigate. We'd also be able to get notifications whenever something an interest is advertised, thus not needing to check the list every X minutes and all in all, it'd be a great alternative to the very old system which we're currently using. Commands to add: CEF or normal menu for adverts containing the options described above. Items to add: N/A How would your suggestion improve the server? It's literally what we have right now but moved out of the chat, thus reducing spam and clutter, making everything more immersive and easier to navigate. Additional information: Until it's properly and fully implemented and developed, there would be a way to switch between receiving the ads in your chat, the old way, or in the new way.
  23. That's different though. There's lots of people who actually role-play as interior designers and some of them are damn good at it too. There's interior and graphic design companies and that's something that happens in real life. Yeah, the actual process of designing a place is OOC but that's totally different. There's no 'advertising agencies', no character whose characters are solely 'advertisers'. Advertisements are already an extremely abstract concept and in my opinion, should just be abolished but this just makes everything feel very metagame-y.
