  1. Short description: A browser-based system for advertisements. Detailed description: Create a small database that is accessible in-game. /ad will bring up the regular ads, /cad and /bad will bring up the company and business ads respectively. You can switch between the three tabs while the UI is open - the commands will simply bring up the respective tab. How will it work? You will still be able to normally write your advert, either after writing /ad, /bad or /cad or right inside of the UI. Anyone will be able to post an /ad at all times and without having to wait at all. Upon doing so, the ad is added to the top of the list. How will this apply to donators? The system will switch to a bump-based one. Non-donators will be able to bump their advert every 20 minutes. Donators will be able to do it every 15, 5 and 3 minutes respectively - the same thing we have right now. Since this won't clutter the chat, the bumps can only have a one minute cool-down, giving people time to read the adverts while also accommodating for the large amount of adverts. A queue system? We don't want the first-to-write issue to turn into a first-to-press the button issue. Pressing the bump button will add your ad to a queue. Your advert will be bumped to the top when its turn comes. I didn't look into the following but it could be considered - non-donators will have a higher priority in the queue, thus countering the fact that donators can bump their topics more times and giving them a perk while also maintaining a healthy balance. The queue will be too full. No, it won't! When one of the people who posted an advert changes crashes, leaves the server or changes characters, the advert will be removed. A search function could be easily incorporated, thus giving us the ability to look for specific adverts - say that I want to buy a Huntley. I will specifically look for adverts selling a Huntley or vehicle dealerships rather than going through everything. What if I want to post a different advert? Simply write it after /ad, /cad or /bad. It will replace the previous one with the new one. Extra functionality? Being browser-based, the adverts will be accessible while you are offline as well via the same website loaded into a normal browser. Commands to add: Changing the functionality of /ad, /bad and /cad. Items to add: N/A. How would your suggestion improve the server? 1. More immersion. Moving the adverts out of the chat will obviously make everything more immersive. If someone wants to look through them, they can choose to do so. You won't have to keep them enabled just in case that someone posts something you're interested in. 2. Ease of use and quality of life. You won't have to warm up your fingers and be ready for another round of spamming the chat ever again. 3. Extra-functionality. As described above, being able to search through ads and access them off-line. 4. Most importantly, it will accommodate for the continuous and rapid expansion of the player-base. Reaching a much higher number of players will make posting an advert so tedious that it won't be feasible anymore. While this system was fine for most servers, GTA World outgrew any other English GTA 5 or SA-MP role-playing server. This is a problem that no one had to face before and I'm personally glad that we are facing it. Additional information: There are and have been plenty of suggestions on how to improve the current advertisement system. From what I've seen, this hasn't been suggested before. I personally believe that this is going to be the only feasible way of submitting and displaying in-game advertisements moving forward. Why? The server's player base is expanding continuously. We've come from 200-300 players online at peak times to 1050. It's safe and realistic to say that in time, sooner or later, we can expect that number to grow to 2000, 3000 or even more. It's just a matter of time. Fighting to be the first person to write /ad once the cooldown expires becomes harder and harder and it will eventually become impossible - when 300 people will do the command at the same time, the "winner" will be decided by milliseconds. This won't be a quick or easy project but it is something that should 100% be looked into. We will definitely reach the point when this will be more of a serious issue than a simple inconvenience and it's better to be prepared than to have to improvised. Hope you enjoyed the read!
  2. The best way to handle this issue would be a queue system. Everyone would be able to do /ad, /bad and /cad whenever they want to, their advert would be in the queue (it would be removed if they disconnect) and whenever it is up, it would be posted. The difference would be that donators can add more items to the queue while non-donators will have to wait for their advert to be published or a certain time to pass before adding another one. This way, the spam could be regulated. It would also allow people to view previous ads since they would have to be saved for a short amount of time before they are posted - it could be used backwards as well, in order to view the last X ads. The rules already forbid the problem at hand but it's a gray area - people pay so that they can send more ads than normal, it's hard draw a line between what is a normal use of the perk and what is spam. The example above is clear but the vast majority of them aren't. The issue can only be properly fixed if the core problem is as well.
  3. Buyout was lowered to $350,000. Bidding will close in 48 hours.
  4. I don't agree with this. We have /toggle faction, it's what I personally use too.
  5. No. Going to prison is not a punishment for the player but rather a great opportunity to further character development and role-play. There are also plenty of people to role-play in TTCF and that number is increasing every day.
  6. I know lots of people would be against it but I support this suggestion. It might be realistic but we have our own limitations in regards to housing and businesses on GTA World. People should only be allowed to buy and sell properties so that everyone, especially newer players or characters, have a chance of acquiring said properties. Having a few some people swap properties among each other is one big reason why lots of people complain about not being able to find properties in the county or specific businesses.
  7. I'd like to see this. As a side-note, the original /equipment option should still be a thing, it's a much better alternative for situations where you have to quickly put on a plate carrier or traffic vest, for example.
  8. Hey there! This is perfectly normal because of the new (and large) update - everyone is currently downloading server files which is why the waiting times are temporarily significantly longer. If you would like to skip this queue, go over to #announcements or #join-us on our Discord server and manually download the server files.
  9. I think this would be a really nice addition for both companies and players. Adding another option to the phone along with icons of said websites and the ability to purchase this perk (your website + icon shown in this menu) for a monthly fee would be pretty neat. It could also be included as an additional perk in the option to purchase a .gta.world subdomain (should the person wish to do so).
  10. You are still able to move through the options one by one though. If you want to check out the 200th ID you can just move the slider around there and click the left or right button a few times instead of pressing an arrow key 200 times. I think this is a much better alternative and it is a much more modern one as well. I do agree with the chat part, the menu should be moved so that the chat is visible as well. Same (and especially) for mechanic garages.
  11. We can arrange that. I will contact you tomorrow.

  13. At this moment in time, the only people allowed to tow vehicles to an impound lot are members of the Police Department, Sheriff's Department as well as the Government's Public Works department. If that's the role-play you're looking to dive into, I recommend one of those. Otherwise, you can use a Flatbed for various reasons but you cannot legally tow vehicles to an impound lot.

    /rad

There aren't enough player-ran and public radio station to warrant for a separate channel. /cad can be used for this.
  15. Although I do support the point behind the suggestion as there is a clear and blatant issue surrounding unrealistic driving, this would be impossible to implement for a number of reasons. The biggest problem is that it would be impossible to regulate. There's no way to tell whether someone is indeed driving recklessly or not - they may have a good reason for it, there might have been some out of character issue at hand to cause said crash and so on. There's no way to gather any evidence. It's highly unlikely that a witness will be there, facing the location where the crash is about to happen, recording and willing to report said person. Even if, they wouldn't have the whole story. Most of the evidence would be circumstantial and most likely all of these situations would turn into a lot of drama and a huge he-said she-said. It's also unlikely that someone will be able to respond to a report in-game or be able to do anything without a forum report being posted. In this case, the reported party will continue to use that vehicle and after a week, two or even more, if the report is not concluded in their favor, their vehicle would just disappear. It is humanly impossible to handle all of the forum reports in a timely manner, although it is something that's been under constant improvement for quite a long time. I agree that something should change but I don't think this is the best way to go about it.
  16. You can already hire a lawyer to draft up an official legal-binding document that you can then use in court if the terms of the contract are not respected. Realistically speaking, loans (and loan scams) are an extremely risky area. We shouldn't aim to artificially eliminate that risk just, it would be extremely unrealistic and unfair.
  17. Thank youuu! Congratulations everyone!!!
