  1. Okay, thanks. I've gotten permission from one, just need to ask LSPD. Would you happen to know the best person (and best way) to contact there?
  2. Hi, I happen to be caught between two Factions, and one side has suggested I get Double Faction Permissions from both in order to continue with the hiring process in their Faction. I've been looking around, but I just can't seem to find anything on the forum about it. What's the process here?
  3. I was talking to a friend about this last night and it turns out that the "PK wipes the memory of your character's interactions with the killer or the parties they're involved with" version of the rule is from the Faction War Rules. However, over time everyone is just treating that as the basis for every single PK. An example we used was going hiking with friends and falling off a mountain trail. Using the Faction War version of PK up above means that now you don't have those friends anymore and you don't remember ever being friends. This just leads people to void all accidental deaths and continue on as if nothing happened. It was my understanding that a PK would remove an hour or two of memory up to the point of death, so that you don't lose your entire personality for something stupid like that, you just get a bad concussion for a day or so and feel fine later on. If the Admins, and the server at large, are going to use the Faction War version of PK, then how is it that different than a CK? If you're killed by someone you know and work with, then suddenly you can't continue working there? Even if there's no reason in your personal story not to? I think I just want a clear answer, in the Server Rules, about the different versions of Player Kills and Character Kills.
  4. I respect the attempt, nonetheless.
  5. Like I said, I know this now, but I didn't learn it from reading the rules. This seems like something that should be clearly stated somewhere.
  6. I had an issue with this a while ago. Is there anything in the rules that actually defines a PK? It took 700 hours of playing and a report for me to get a definition from an Admin: PK wipes the memory of your character's interactions with the killer or the parties they're involved with. Up until that point I was under the impression that it wiped the last hour or so leading up to your death. Which meant there was a small window in which to get that PK in if you needed to remove a witness. But then I'd never RP'd in the PK-heavy areas of San Andreas. Maybe some clarity is still needed.
  7. Don't mean to necro this, but it's an interesting suggestion to a system I've actually been involved in. As the system stood back in February, when I last really took part, the amount of parts you get for each vehicle is calculated via the base value of said vehicle. This is why an MTL Pounder won't produce enough for two Switchblades, whereas most sports cars probably could. The realism in that takes some mental bending, but it's not the worst thing. To me it seems Esc's changes would bring the system closer to realism and fresh gameplay loops. Having every vehicle be worth some amount of parts is a very good start to stepping towards realism. I would add that stolen vehicles should be able to be sold wholesale for 3% - 5% of their total market value to an NPC location, akin to the base game's Simeon List. Whether this is a revolving list like the original Chop-Shop System, or just open to all vehicles, that's for admins and devs to really decide. But the goal of this is not only supplemental income for these car theft rings, but it also helps muddy the waters for LEOs. If the only people stealing cars are all connected to a chop shop, then it feels kind of dull. But if there are 2 or 3 locations on the map to drop off a stolen car for cash, then suddenly those police chases matter because of an abstract time limit. And the major change I would make to Esc's suggestion is to make lockpicks orderable by Pawnshop Owners. If you just let garages handle them, then they're never leaving that circle of car thieves. We already have a similar issue to that with drugs, according to that recent survey. If you allow Pawnshop Owners to order in specialty items like Lockpicks, then they get to hold that unique place in the market as well as dispersing those items out to a wider audience. But that's just what I think. Otherwise, yeah, I'd support a change to the system.
