  1. 1 - /me unloads the truck. 2 - /me grabs his clipboard and checks the order. He walks to the back of the truck and opens the doors. /me bends his knees and wraps his arms around the crate. He lifts it and carries it to the store, nodding to the imaginary cashier as the box disappears into thin air. /me heads back to the truck and wipes his brow before grabbing another crate. He proceeds back to the store to hoist it into the void portal alongside the former. Is there anything added to the scene in option 2 whatsoever? No. It's not better roleplay. It's unnecessary, forced, zombified roleplay. It's not there to improve the scene, its there to negate script abuse - which could be tackled in a number of other ways. I understand making people walk each box to and from the truck, asking people to park more realistically instead of backing the rig through the front doors of 24/7 to lace off a few quick /sellcrates. But NOTHING is gained from forcing the /me's apart from watching the last ounces of spirit leave a truck driver's soul. /me's do not = good roleplay.
  2. Again, agreed. Maybe I'm alone in this but it feels like every time I go on the forums these days its the same people throwing snow across the fence over and over again. It just feels like so many topics of discussion at the moment originated with the thought "Hmm, how can I bring extortion up again and get this party started once more" instead of actually trying to make any progress elsewhere. If you're not usually one of those people I apologize, my frustration is with the volume of usage, not with the validity of the concern.
  3. Fair but the crux of the discussion here should be about the lengthening of prison sentences, which has a vast amount of implications and factors. Your comment and that section of OP's post in my opinion is just more white noise. I get it, its a frustrating issue. It cannot possibly be as big of an issue as the very, very vocal players (on both sides) are making it out to be. Does it need to be in every single suggestion and topic? Let's not pretend you had a litany of examples to use to support your opinion and just happened to land on extortion, the chamber was loaded. Is there a problem with extortion on this server? I believe you 100% that there is. Is it anywhere near as pressing of an issue as it has seemed on the past few weeks on the forums? I highly, highly doubt it. This is just the latest topical divide between legal and illegal RPers and its extremely tiresome.
  4. I do too, I really do. The opinions have been made known plenty of times. Multiple admins and staff have given their input. We can work together as a community to improve the RP around extortion, we can both agree there. However, so many criminal RP related topics (like this one) cover a broad expanse of criminal RP, and you guys just cannot keep the E word out of your replies. It serves no purpose in this topic. I have been RPing as a criminal for months, I have not taken part in nor witnessed a single extortion scene IC. Extortion is not the most important topic on this server. Assurances have been made multiple times that CK permissions are not granted simply for refusing to comply with extortion, there is always more to it. Let's discuss OP's topic here instead.
  5. The ability people have in forcing the word extortion into every single vaguely criminal related topic this past while is truly impressive.
  6. Yup. Having consistent antagonists in your character's story is infinitely more interesting than your script bodycount.

  10. Lemon T about to hear a lot more Biden complaints.
  11. Every interaction I've had with this faction IC has been RPd extremely well. Tubby/Biggie is easily one of my favourite chars to scene with, much love.
  12. I meant it in a broad sense, not specifically directed at you. Yeah I agree that there is also a threshold where it becomes so boring its unbearable but I think this percentage idea is good instead of the full sentence. It will help feed RP into the prison and make things LESS boring.
  13. You're making a direct comparison in isolated situations to weigh up the "forcing" of prison RP. But you don't get caught for every crime. You probably spend 5x, 10x, 20x (who knows) doing petty crimes that you don't get caught for. Having to spend a little time in IC jail as a response for the endless hours you get to enjoy as an illegal RPer is an insanely small price to pay. Wanting to RP a criminal but not wanting to RP their punishments is imo, a big example of poor RP standards.
