Harvey Apa From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Harvey Apa (born July 4, 1981) was born in a small home on South Bucknell St, off Snyder Avenue in South Philadelphia. A product of a broken household, the adolescent Apa was an underachiever in St. John Neumann Catholic High School. All three of his sisters attended the school’s segregated female counterpart, St. Maria Goretti High. Truancy and regular tempered outbursts plagued Harvey’s early educational career and at age sixteen he left the Philadelphia school system with little to no academic exit velocity. Having already been acquainted at a young age with his eldest brother George "Gerry" Apa’s affiliates, Harvey began working for alleged Philadelphia acting captain Baby Dom Grande. In August 2005, Apa moved across the Delaware River to the city of Camden in Southern New Jersey. While initially keeping close ties to his former associates, Harvey began running a sports book in parts of Camden and Atlantic City. Much to the dismay of his cohorts in Philadelphia and South Jersey, Harvey frequently partnered with members of both the New York Colombo family and New Jersey’s own DeCavalcante family in the northern territories of the Garden State. It is here that authorities believe Apa began a close working relationship with Colombo bookmaker Albert Pavesi. Nicodemo dispute It is rumored that in 2008 Apa entered a dispute with the prime suspect in the 2003 murder of John "Johnny Gongs" Casasanto - Philadelphia Soldier Anthony Nicodemo. It is believed Pavesi defended Apa in a meeting with Grande to settle the Nicodemo dispute. Anthony Nicodemo has since been charged in association with the murder of drug dealer Gino DiPietro in 2012. After the alleged meeting between the Colombos and Grande, Harvey Apa has been observed working much more closely with the New Jersey family, leading authorities to believe an agreement had been reached that moved him North to avoid further conflict.
