Naples, Chronicle. Drive-by on mopeds in Secondigliano, 13 shots fired and killed Scampia boss by Marianna Capuano | 29 Nov, 2022 | Chronicle Residents terrified by shots fired in the morning in Secondigliano Carabinieri intervened this morning, around nine o'clock in Secondigliano on Via della Liguria after receiving reports of gunfire between buildings. The area affected would be the one near Civic 6: it would appear that, here, what is known as a "stesa" occurred, that is, the passage at high speed of scooters and motorcycles driven by people armed and intent on shooting. This is a vile act whose intent lives in the very word itself, that is, the act itself indicates the "putting down" of people to whom you want a message to reach. It doesn't matter who or what, but as it passes, people should be afraid that in the midst of the tranquility of houses and buildings, one should be jolted awake by gunshots or machine gun fire. By the time the Carabinieri from the Secondigliano Police Headquarters arrived, however, there had already been a drive-by but, according to the findings made by the men of the Secondigliano Carabinieri, there were clear signs on the asphalt of what had taken place shortly before. According to the voices of the few witnesses, around the early hours of the night, sounds of mopeds were heard, followed by shouts and thirteen gunshots. Investigators found on the ground the lifeless body of Domenico Russo, the undisputed leader of the Vele in Scampia, a neighborhood known for being the largest drug-dealing square in Europe. The "stesa" had left the Secondigliano boss, who seemed untouchable, on the ground in addition to 13 .380-caliber shell casings. Not far from the scene of the standoff, a car, a Fiat Punto, was also found completely set on fire, on which investigations are underway to see if that car may have been involved in the thing. The Carabinieri of the Secondigliano police headquarters, after having made all the relevant findings, are continuing the investigation to reconstruct the dynamics of events, also collaborating with the military of the San Carlo Arena station. Initial investigations assume that the murder is a clear message from the splinters; "We are in charge." It's feud in Secondigliano between baby-clans and historical clans, four murders in two days. by Stefano Marianella | 25 Dec, 2022 | Chronicle Photo of Vincenzo La Monica's murder, captured live on camera. Vincenzo La Monica, Pasquale Positano, Ezio Sabbatini, and Maria Teresa Schiavone Ruotolo, these are the names of the four victims of the Camorra feud that is terrorizing Naples these days, days that should be days of celebration and joy. La Monica Vincenzo, forty-four-year-old , a serial offender and leading affiliate of the Russo clan, was gunned down in broad daylight on Christmas Eve outside a bar in Secondigliano. Seven shots were fired, all seven in the face, aimed at disfiguring his face. Investigators think La Monica was reorganizing the Russo clan after the murder of the previous boss, Domenico Russo, who was also killed in an ambush a few months earlier. Positano Pasquale, fifty-six, owner of a machine shop and with no criminal record. He is killed at his workplace after a barrage of twenty-seven Kalashnikov rounds reach him. The perpetrators entered two, faces covered by full-face helmets on a moped and fired on the victim. Positano's death still remains a mystery to investigators, possibly a mistaken identity. Positano also died on Christmas Eve, leaving four children and a wife. Ezio Sabbatini, 16, killed while playing soccer in the street under his house, Scampia, East Vela. Sabbatini was killed on Christmas Day while he was with some friends under his apartment building as he was every day playing soccer and fooling around with his little friends. A young life snatched away by the cruelty of the Camorra, by a feud for control of territory and illegal trafficking. He leaves behind both parents and two younger siblings. Maria Teresa Schiavone Ruotolo, forty-five years old, wife of notorious Camorrista Raffaele Schiavone, who is currently imprisoned in the Opera prison, serving a life sentence for the crimes of criminal conspiracy, multiple murder, extortion, kidnapping, and drug trafficking, was killed a few minutes after Sabbatini. Maria Teresa was Sabbatini's aunt; investigators believe these murders are related to retaliation for losses by the Russo clan. Super witness against Scampia's baby-clan, breakthrough for investigation. by Marianna Capuano | 10 Gen, 2023 | Chronicle After two months of fear, the residents of Scampia can finally sleep peacefully. A minor from Scampia, the key witness in the investigation into the so-called "Christmas massacre," turned himself in on Jan. 1 of the new year, of his own free will, at the Secondigliano Carabinieri barracks. "We believe what the boy says is true, he came crying like a desperate man and confessed everything," the words of Marshal Alfonso Gratteri, made known through a television interview; "Currently the boy is under the witness protection program, being the only witness. He has confessed everything, from his guilt to that of his accomplices. The others are in Poggio Reale prison, awaiting trial. Apparently they are the two Schiavone brothers, the third was released a few hours after the arrest and his trail was lost" the marshal then continued. The trail has become much clearer; Angelo Schiavone nicknamed "'O Crezi," the madman, 22 years of age. Cristian "O Nier" Schiavone 23 years of age and Vincenzo "'O Principe" Schiavone, 26 years of age. These are the names that made shopkeepers throughout Secondigliano tremble, these are the names of young men who fearlessly took on the historic clans of Naples. The trial against the Schiavone baby-clan will be held Gen. 21, 2023 at a maximum-security court to avoid further bloodshed Escort car explodes, three carabinieri and key witness in clan trial lose their lives. by Marianna Capuano | 22 Gen, 2023 | Chronicle Quadruple homicide or accident? Judge cancels trial against Schiavone clan. On the night of Gen 21-22, the date of the trial against brothers Angelo and Cristian Schiavone, the car escorting the witness and three Carabinieri exploded. Ballistics and forensic police say the engine failed; surely the car did not explode because of a bomb. Only one officer, the one next to the witness died inside the car, probably the other two officers got out to check the engine situation and were run over and killed by the vehicle explosion. The judge decided to dismiss the trial due to lack of evidence and charges against the Schiavone brothers. Marshal Gratteri is sued for libel against the judge, as he publicly defamed the latter by calling him a coward and corrupt. He also declares war on the clans; "I will not rest until they are all behind bars."
