The new Continuity Management's job is to take a lump of shit, throw it in a blender of random ingredients then trash compact it for you. It all needs doublethink to prop it up anyway. I completely agree. Some administrators blur the lines between OOC and IC themselves by thinking people in game, like the Hakeem situation, should act according to the admin's concept of rationality, especially when the action in question is performed against another player. This player walked into a crowded nightclub - not crowded in the sense there's a bunch of witnesses who can use their OOC mind and logs to identify a witness but a place crowded with drunken, drugged up dancers who are immersed in the music, with extremely dark lighting. On an unrelated note, I feel like a lot of people use logs and Shadowplay to inject recollection into their character's mind to then use that. It's essentially mostly unprovable metagaming and poor portrayal. In fact, on this specific report, I myself was accused of unrealistic portrayal by ordering a slashing over a 4-day old brewing beef, where the admin in question falsely believed due to admitted hearsay and assumptions that I had just been kicked out of the club and ordered someone to go in and stab them, and were not aware it was actually more complicated than that. I specifically chose the means of slashing by proxy to avoid improper escalation by shooting, as it was determined a punishment needed meted out for: My character's cousin being unfairly ejected days before in which they were insulted thoroughly, having a gun pulled on me in the resulting argument in the hallway of the club in question, and several refusals to apologise. Hakeem, who I sent in to non-lethally slash a person for legitimate reasons, ended up stabbing the person and being shot by their sister from above entirely due to their character's incompetency. They could have just scrolled the knife, stabbed the player then ran out. Instead, they chose to roleplay the withdrawing and stabbing of the player in question then roleplay their wounds thoroughly. This person was jailed for powergame, for not 'fearing' the fact it was a populated club and for 'powergaming' the stabbing, even when it was a surprise attack and they utilised /mes instead of quite validly taking the blade out without roleplay and using it as many people do, as permitted by the asspulling exemptions in the rules - these things happens so fast in real life. My counter-argument is that the fact it was a populated club would bloody HELP them! If it wasn't for the dynamism of roleplay and the other player's incredibly unlikely shooting by virtue of coincidental tactical positioning and opportunity, they could easily have escaped without due consequence. Hakeem survived this, and the stabbing victim survived this. The report was initially on PD for MG, but the title was forcibly changed to Hakeem [3] against the will of the reporter who even wanted it closed and the focus shifted entirely. Some people use their power to enforce their questionable opinions onto others, which are not shared by said others. Some admins think people act irrationally and spontaneously OOCly when in fact it's IC and should be treated as such. The rookie criminals who poorly plan or execute crimes during their commission are greater roleplayers than those who game the easily gameable system by using their OOC intelligence and awareness. Shooting/attacking people in broad daylight happens all the time. People pull guns and shoot or knives and stab on busy streets all the time. Nightclub slashings and stabbings happen all the time. These people are usually caught too, as should happen IC. Nobody should be punished for ICly performing a bad move, especially when they have valid reason but only poor execution.

Fire Marshals only serve to add an extra layer of both IC and OOC bureaucracy, which this server is already plagued by. If they suddenly disappeared, a good number of people would a better experience on this server and the rest wouldn't notice or care.

Private investigative agents, agencies could become an actual thing if not for the fact IFM gave weapons suppliers the wires/tracking devices. Now, people need an IC or OOC linkup for usually quite expensive bugs if they want to RP an investigator with tools they'd have access to IRL. Unless I am mistaken and this is something a roleplayer could apply for separately? AFAIK the devices are limited and merged with the weapon supplier role rather lazily.

It's always the people of Davis who get the blame falsely. Last time certain people falsely blamed an increase in crime and degeneracy on a specific ethnic group who were supposedly migrating to where they shouldn't belong, and had laws put in place to restrict them because of this, it didn't go very well.

Or maybe they were from Strawberry. Did 8 people all fire at once, or did a rogue element with anger issues decide to commit the shooting? You don't go up to an area like this full of CCTV and private security with 8 people to murder one guy. You go to intimidate. The murder must not have been planned, must have been in the heat of the moment. But no, you blame it on '8 gangbangers from Davis' and describe them like you would a Haitian Death Squad sent to silence a dissident. We need a parliamentary democracy of players, and not the men of always, deciding what happens in the server. How often have you seen the same people as admins on GTA RP servers? It's clear some get in due to their connections. Frequently changes are made with a poor level of discussion between the changemakers and community. In illegal RP too. Like that horrible weapons specialist thing where you need to find some guy to make your gun fire auto and all firearms retroactively becoming semi. Or the detective devices being added to the weapons supplier role. I mean, come on - the IFM make these decisions, and make their own factions which they approve themselves and give themselves supplier roles. So now we see the O'Neill Mob posting screenshots where even their old ladies are flashing Skorpions. All these additions make the powerful, more powerful! Or Bombie disabling Davis LTD a few days ago saying you can rejoin tonight, but still we can't! The men of always aren't interested in the children of never.

The admins ban half the gang bangers eventually because they don't realise that the 'DM' that happens down there, IRL is both frequent and frequently without 'good reason'. They also don't take into account that the scene is incredibly competitive to the point where it could be classed as PVP. Not to mention the cops and their 30 point system and 2-3 week court cases which they justify as being 'the best on any server' (yeah for the lawyers, cops and judges) which a lot of Afro rpers just offline for because there's practically no real black car in the prison system which is dominated by the Ⓜ️ and Whitey Hitlersson MacNiggahater constantly pulling out ye olde shanke. Some guys get so many crimes put on them for their first arrest that they aren't allowed back out without parole. This is all catering towards the legal scene and partly the OCG scene, but holds little consideration for the gang scene which is where the majority of petty and violent criminal activity takes place. That's why there's so many undeveloped gang banging characters. On the second hand, because of the lack of developed gang bangers, they don't get the coveted supplier ranks as much as the OCGs, which results in incredibly unrealistic things like OCGs trying to move weed in bulk to gang bangers. I personally think the OCGs should deal in coke and the other drugs like LSD that're incredibly hard to synthesise or otherwise manufacture. Meth's mostly produced by the county RPers and that scene for supply is all good and dandy, but there's no demand because of another oversight - drug effects. We admit that a lot of people won't take drugs just for RP, and that's why the drug effects are there. Weed and cocaine are the only illegal drugs commercially viable in this server for the common man. Cocaine makes ya hyped for fights, and gives you extra HP. RPly, and game effect wise, it's viable. Weed for some reason gives you a minor amount of HP. Doesn't make too much sense but who gives a shit? On the other hand, some genius decided that both meth and LSD's effect is to give you a temporary +2kg carrying boost. Now I ask you this: Who the fuck thinks "I need to carry stuff past my inventory limit for a short amount of time"? Only perhaps a drug mule. Now RPly, do you think the scarce amount of this type of person who needs this inventory limit boost is gonna say, "Let me just put this tab of LSD on my tongue so I can hallucinate for 12 hours and somehow carry more weight"? It makes no sense. In fact, it contradicts itself. It makes negative sense. Do you think people use meth before a gunfight in this server if they want to win? Hell no, they use coke. Meth is just as good, RPly speaking, for pain suppression, focus and energy, but the average consumer in Davis ain't gonna take some before a gunfight which makes the effect useless to them. Realistically, a good percentage of the houses in Davis would have at least one plant in them. Weed is grown by the ghetto populace en masse. Who the hell imports weed or weed seeds anymore? You can pick 'em from low grade bud, or buy 'em off the internet, the seeds that is. The OCGs IRL barely import weed into America anymore because post-911 it's much safer and effective to grow local. Weed growing RP could add opportunities for people in Davis to get on with some passive crime RP, but no, we have these mobsters doing it because someone decided they're the only ones who can. To go off-topic a bit, we are supposed to be RPing in an emulated version of California - a very liberal state where weed is legal, medicinally and recreationally. Shit, I PMed the new Mayor about it before he was elected and it seems like he was apprehensive about pushing for legalisation because he "wasn't sure what the illegal faction management plans for it". To hell with the current IFM, they've failed the people who have pointed these things out time and time again through either negligence or imbecility. They've especially failed gang RP. Bring weed production into the hands of gangbangers. Go a step further, make legalisation happen like it should have, and have one highly taxed expensive weed market in dispensaries, and one cheap weed market on the streets.

I am convinced there's some players who wait near the airport spawn to flag new players and manipulate them for an easy get-off. Sit in a taxi and charge them $500 a gram for weed after a short conversation or such. At least that's what happened to me LMAO motherfuckers

It doesn't, ask anyone. Literally the only things transferred are the place names, and even then it's not 100% (eg FaceBrowser instead of FaceInvader) No gangs like the GSF or Ballas are on this server, and if you try to roleplay one, some badmin will come and shove the hilt of their ban hammer up your ass. @Rodrick Sharpe Davis and the ghetto areas surrounding it are more PVP zones full of robberies, scams, deathmatch and noobs, and unless you join a faction in these areas and get onto more professional gangsterism, it's going to stay that way. Downtown, there's a lot of clubs, bars, and other events that happen quite frequently. Most of the civilian RP happens here and you're unlikely to be fucked over in these areas like you would in Davis and you will encounter many people of various creeds. This is also where the OCG roleplay intermixes so you will see people in the civvy crowds with ethnic names and they're almost certainly in these crime groups. The county, anything north of Vinewood? Forget it for now unless you're a fan of Mein Kampf. Also, addressing the toxicity you have met so far, a lot of players here don't play this as a game, but as a substitute for real life [mostly due to COVID lockdowns I imagine] and expect you to be highly versed in the world of heavy RP. So forget them for now, and just continue and learn. Any player, or admin, who criticises you or punishes you for actions expected from a total noob instead of taking time to teach you, can honestly fuck themselves.
