  2. I massively support @RoryR's suggestion of requiring raises to be double the blind as this is again more realistic. I would absolutely like to see that implemented, however what I would most like to see implemented is certainly the fixing of the calling the raise. As Rory stated above and as I did in my first response that is such an enormous issue and should be an absolute priority to fix. It's not fair for one person to have put almost 40k in the pot whilst the others only put about 20k in because he decided to min raise after you already raised. It's literally something that just causes players to lose money. In poker you should only ever be able to proceed to the next stage once the players remaining in the pot have all paid exactly the same amount (Providing one player isn't already all-in of course). As Rory stated if this was trucking or garbage it would be a priority to fix. But playing poker is my characters sole source of money, I shouldn't lost it from having to call a re raise. Casino owning is one of the largest businesses and it is so because of people with RP like mine, so we should really be looking at fixing the issues with poker, as casino owning has grown, this has become as large an issue as anything related to trucking for example.
  3. +1 Couldn't agree more with everything suggested. My Patrick Cousins character is RP'ly a semi pro poker player who has moved from England to LS to make more money against higher rollers. This entails me almost solely making all of my money from poker. When things like the Ace - 5 straight are not counted and the kicker not counted that directly influences my (and everyone who plays) ability to make money from poker. Even for someone who's RP isn't based around poker this is more than just an annoyance as it has a genuine huge impact in the types of hands you can play. Where in real life poker Ace,4 suited may be a tempting hand to play due to it being a "blocker" it's almost completely unplayable on this server. Likewise I know I have lost possibly more than 100k due to pots being chopped when I have the higher kicker, this is something that should just not occur at all as it's completely unrealistic and no poker game would ever be like this irl. The issue Rory brings up about calling re-raises costing the full amount of the re-raise is another serious issue I believe. If I have a good but not great hand and I raise according to my value and table position (let's say I raise 5k) if someone then raises up to 7k in this position he's also likely got only a small amount of value in this hand and so I should be able to call for 2k knowing we have similar values. But if I have to call that full 7k (on top of the 5k I already put in) all of a sudden I am losing too much value and should fold. This situation is unfair on me as I should be able to play and see the next card and potentially win the hand based off it. Again this is completely unrealistic the way the situation currently is and I do believe this needs changing as poker continues to grow on the server. Rory is spot on in terms of showing position. This is literally one of the most important things in poker. As Rory says you literally do not play some hands in one position but play it lots in other positions. Take Pocket 4's as an example. If I am one of the early actors I surely must fold pocket 4's but if I am one of the last actors I am playing pocket 4's probably around 80-85% of the time, with that 15-20% only being when another player from an earlier position has raised/raised a large amount. Seeing position is super important! Fixing the players leaving mid hand bug is important. The other day I had 2 hands within 20 minutes of each other that got frozen out due to this bug. Ace Jack suited and pocket Queens. Both of these hands are money making hands! And I lost that ability to make money due to this bug. The second time this happened the player who left had been there when the first one happened and we all said in /b "why" etc cause he knew about the bug and he just didn't care. The fact a player has that kinda power is really harmful. I would love the ability to spec players. Some of my friends enjoy poker but don't have money they can afford to lose, some enjoy it but don't play it, they'd still like to be able to watch the action unfold. This should be a no brainer especially as blackjack has this feature. All of these features are hugely important to the standard of poker RP (with the exception of spectating but as stated it should be a no brainer as blackjack already has that) if these features are added poker RP is gonna be so so much better. but if they aren't added it's gonna remain fairly unrealistic and that's a huge huge shame in my opinion.
  4. +1 Agree with everything said above, would massively improve immersion and roleplay opportunity
