    No Crosshair

lol no removing the crosshair doesn't make anything realistic no one is gonna use the first person shooting because it's terrible in gta 5. yeah crosshairs don't exist in real life but third person doesn't either, we removing that next? i get what you're trying to do but this isn't the way to handle it tbh
  2. Would be an absolutely amazing addition, especially for law enforcement. Considering you're not in any specialized assignment, you'd have at least 5 radio channels, and it can sometimes get hard to manage them all.

    Realism vs Fun

Pretty sure the point of this topic wasn't for people to "refute" each others point, but just bring them across. So yeah, good shit.

    Realism vs Fun

Off topic, yes. I'm not the one bringing up a bunch of random communities. This is the GTA World forums, so I thought it would be obvious that we're talking about the roleplay on our server, not in WoW or roleplay as a whole or whatever. I've brought my points across already.

    Realism vs Fun

lol where did WoW come from? xD No, I'm saying people have different definitions of what they believe is "realistic roleplay". I'm not talking about other games or other communities, I'm talking about GTA: World in which we roleplay in San Andreas, a state that replaces California in our world. And because of that, I prefer to base my roleplay on things in California. That is what I find "realistic."

    Realism vs Fun

I disagree. Realistic roleplay is created by basing your roleplay on real things, or at least being inspired from the real world. That doesn't necessarily mean that you can't provide good roleplay without going off of real life, but in my books, if your roleplay is not something off of real life, and rather something you create with your imagination/creativity, it's not "realistic" roleplay. There are a lot of factions based on real life gangs or organizations. They provide realistic roleplay. But there's also a lot of factions that are not based on anything real, but still provide good roleplay. It's not "realistic roleplay" in my books, but still good nonetheless, so it's possible either way. People prefer different types of roleplay. If you ask me, I prefer being inspired by something from the real world and emulating that in game. That is what I enjoy. I don't like making up my own "reality", so to speak. Each to their own, though.
  7. It is not a secret that a lot of people in the LSPD do not favor these realism changes. I was personally targeted at least twice on public mediums for my involvement in suggesting and attempting to create a better faction and a better relationship with the community. These are all my views and are not meant to be an insult to anyone or provoke anyone. I'm gonna be using LS-RP a lot as an example regarding this. The LSPD on LS-RP, just like World, also started out with a "fictional" non-realistic mindset. The roleplay was not favorable, there was a lot of play 2 win policies, and overall a lot of issues with it. The LS-RP mindset was forcefully changed to a more realistic mindset, which caused a lot of controversy, but to this day, the LS-RP LSPD strives while portraying the Los Angeles Police Department and prioritizing quality and fair police roleplay to their community. I do believe that the LSPD on World is following in very close footsteps of the LSPD on LS-RP. There is a lot of controversy regarding realism changes, even though a lot of factions, including, but not limited to, other law enforcement agencies, street gangs, organized crime etc. are all based on real gangs/organizations and strive to portray those real gangs and organizations as closely as possible. A lot of people in the LSPD are stuck with an old mentality that originated in the LSPD of LS-RP. And obviously, when trying to change that to keep up with the current climate & the direction that the server is going in as a whole will naturally create tension and controversy. But what people do not notice is that these realism changes are not just about us as LEO's or members of the LSPD - it is about the community as well. The rest of our community strives to portray their respective real life counterparts to create a immersive and realistic atmosphere, close to that of Los Angeles which Los Santos is based on. I and a few people have been personally trying to make changes by creating suggestions which have created a lot of controversy. And I can understand why people do not like the changes. It is simply not the mindset they are used. I can fully relate to it because this is how I felt when I first joined the LSPD. I had a realism mindset which I had with me back from LS-RP, and coming here? It was just entirely different and something I wasn't used to, or necessarily enjoyed. So I understand the concerns here. But when the rest of the server is already moving into this direction of realism and portrayal of Los Angeles, it only makes sense that we, as the largest law enforcement faction, follow suit to make sure that we keep up with the roleplay standards of the faction and are able to provide the expected amount of quality and realistic roleplay to other members of our community. It is unfortunate that this process, which so many people put a lot of effort into, was cut short.

    Realism vs Fun

Question answered indeed, but there are definitely a lot of people in this community as well who believe that realism does not = fun, but rather the opposite. From what I can tell, a lot of illegal factions make an effort to portray realistic characters by basing their roleplay off of real gangs/organizations which is great. Portraying a realistic character is what makes the fun and it gives the entire server a more realistic atmosphere, as many others mentioned. I do hope that the rest of the server will adapt to this mentality in the future.
  9. I forgot to do the fetch command with the Command Prompt, should be working properly now, thanks.
  10. Any idea why the ArchiveFix gives me the "invalid command" error when trying to archivefix an .rpf?
