    Thomas Cooper

Backstory Thomas Cooper was born in Los Santos in 1991. He was born in a pretty stable situation as both of his parents had good jobs. His mother was a principal at a local high school, and his father owned his own mechanic shop. Because of his parents' good jobs, Thomas and his family did not struggle much growing up. He was even able to visit his parents at work. He most enjoyed spending time at the mechanic shop. Not only does this allow him to spend time with his dad, but it also allowed him to get acquainted with cars, which he loved so much already. Thomas’ life was so well-off that he had very bubbly and positive energy about him. Growing up, he was a social butterfly and strived to live life to its fullest. This mentality about how to live stayed with Thomas throughout his childhood and into adulthood. He stayed in Los Santos as he grew up because it was the only home he knew, and it was always so loving. He also began to not just volunteer at his father's mechanic shop, but also work full-time there. His charismatic nature made him a great salesman. However, he struggled to understand the business side of things. However, that’s what his dad was for. Unfortunately, Thomas would soon find out he would not have his dad and his family for much longer. On the night of Thomas’ 30th birthday, his parents and his brother went out to dinner to celebrate. Unfortunately, a drunk driver also went out that night and ended up striking the car and killing everyone inside. Everyone except for Thomas. Thomas resented that he was the only one left alive. Not only did he have to deal with the loss of his family, but he also had to deal with the intense emotions of rage towards the drunk driver that he felt. He started to not feel like himself. However, he still tried to power through. After a while, it became clear to Thomas that powering through was not enough to get by. For one, he did not know how to run the business that his father had left behind. Profits were going down, and the business was in jeopardy, so Thomas believed the best thing for him to do was to sell the company to get some money for him to survive until he figured things out. He sold the company but kept a motorcycle that was always his dad’s prized possession. Once Thomas sold the mechanic shop he decided it was time to make a fresh start in a new place and so that’s exactly what he did. He moved far away from Los Santos and started to work multiple jobs in order to make ends meet. The one job he enjoyed the most was being a taxi driver. Not only did this allow him to be around something that he loved cars, but it also served a therapeutic use for him. When driving the taxi, he wanted to make sure he could keep people safe, unlike the night he was driving and his family died. Although it was not his fault that they died, he carried a lot of guilt around and hoped by keeping other people safe he would feel better about himself. This caused him to be a very protective cab driver and a real favourite in the new city he moved to. Whenever he was not working, he would oftentimes drive his father's motorcycle outside of the city and just feel the wind in his hair. Not only did this allow him to calm down and distress after a long day, but it allowed him to feel closer to his family and his dad. He cherished their memory and while he was trying to make it in this new city he promised that he would make it not only for himself but for his family since they could no longer be there with him.
