  8. That's the thing. I think you would always have some group of people that are not happy with the changes no matter what way it goes. I think as long as it benefits the overall server and helps balance out any valid inconsistencies, it's worth looking into. But that is good knowledge to have about the recent price change. I wasn't hear for that and to hear more reaction on it, so I appreciate it. But that's where I think having a gradual increase/decrease in the price over time has some benefit. You might end up owning in an area where the value shoots up and you might be inclined to sell. Alternately, price might stay flat or drop and you may decide to hang on to the property or rent it out. End of the day, I think increased prices help everyone and you ideally want to see it go that way as the in-game economy grows. In saying that, I don't think any of this is an easy fix because it touches on a lot of different parts of the game.
  9. Heard about the server through a friend that I know from my time RP'ing in Star Trek Online. I have been following various GTA servers from afar for some time, but everything about what you guys have going so far sounded appealing, so I had to take the leap and check it out! @Nervous Just out of curiosity, What is the breakdown of users in game by region? I came to learn after the fact that the server time was geared towards Europe, but was interested in a rough breakdown. Didn't catch any specific topics about it elsewhere in the forums. ?
  10. Definitely in favor of property taxes (but I would say I am fine with it being on any property you own). It's a topic where you never are going to get 100% agreement because people at the top of the financial ladder will get pinched the hardest. But I think we need a system like this in place. It makes people think about renting out properties or selling them outright if they can't sustain it financially. (Does anyone know if there is a way to script something like this so it comes out every few months or something along those lines? Not sure it's something that should be deducted every pay since in RL you only pay them a few times a year or less depending how the payments are structured.). I think if you couple this with a looking into adjusting home market prices, you'll get to a point where you end up with more rentals for people that can only afford that and more reasonable home prices that better follow the economy as it grows/scales back.

I think the home market prices should increase so they move along as the economy expands. 1) It will force players to really think about the type of property they need as opposed to the one that drains their bank account the most). 2) We might start seeing more realistic bidding coming in as people have to monitor their spend. (the current bidding on the forums being a big factor for the sale prices getting too high) 3) We might start seeing an increase in people renting properties when they have multiple (which as someone who has an realtor as a main, I have noticed is lacking quite a bit). And to @AdirK1's point, if it means someone can't afford a house or even if someone can't see for that market new market price, that better reflects what happens in RL. (If we are talking increases, there could potentially be cases where a decrease could happen in future) How you roll it out could go different ways: 1) Bulk update properties based on a set percentage (maybe you break that down by region somehow) 2) Gradual increases that over time will make the landscape more reflective of the enonomy. I thought perhaps the increase could be something like (current price - (sale price - furniture)... basically only increase the price by the profit so the increase is gradual over time. **I personally think the gradual approach might be better since it will adjust more appropriate depending on what people spend in certain areas and so on.** I'll be the first to admit that I am very new to GTA servers, so I don't know what kind of technical limitations there are to making any increase possible. Assuming the data is stores in some database since we can pull details into the interactive map and so on.
