  1. Its also a bit unrealistic. How are you supposed to be able to see who is tuned into these frequencies? Due to the design of the technology, you essentially can't know who is listening. Nevermind the metagaming problems with giving out names of characters who are connected. Through which method would that make sense?
  2. That's because you're unwilling or unable to understand the reasons why this rule is in place. This has been discussed over and over again in countless of threads. However, you (not you personally) just refuse to accept the reasons why these rules are in place. When an explanation is given to you, you ignore it. When it is explained to you what you should provide in order to resolve this situation, you dodge the discussion and just complain. Guess what? Complaining doesn't solve problems, and it doesn't get you anywhere closer to a situation where robberies involving cars are allowed again. You can keep caps locking all you like for the next 15 threads about this same topic, but until you start engaging seriously nothing is going to happen. Do you actually want a solution?
  3. And it will be a million times ignored because people simply don't care.
  4. The search feature is free for anyone to use, as advised in the thread literally titled; READ FIRST: Suggestions Guidelines. On topic, polls are not solutions. Polls are just a way to measure if an idea is popular. If you aren't interested in covering all the impacts of your suggestion then you shouldn't be surprised that your thread/concept/suggestion/idea is ignored. Your idea of pushing the clock ~3 hours back, assuming you are really referring to a system where time is tied to daylight cycles, means that the people who get on pretty late will now have a chance to see some daylight. This is your intended impact. What you're conveniently ignoring to highlight here is that you're pushing night time away from other players. You wish to enjoy some daylight, other players might wish to enjoy night time. I don't know, perhaps they're criminal roleplayers? I'm pretty sure daylight turns into night time between 20:00 and 22:00 assuming server time. Now lets see when people actually play. I conveniently marked the 2 hour time period where daylight turns into night time for you. Now your proposal is to move that window 3 hours back: Oh look, the majority of time played during "prime time" is now in daylight, rather during sunset. Screw those players who'd like to see some night time, I guess?
  5. It has been denied so many times, I don't even want to begin to bother with searching all the different topics. They're not going to change the time. The day isn't going to be shortened to twelve hours, the time zone isn't going to be switched the another time zone, they're not going to be moved an hour or three forwards, or backwards, or whatever. Every single change suggested sounds good to those who it benefits, but they conveniently ignore those who are negatively impacted. When you make a serious proposal, you should consider all the impacts.
  6. Excellent suggestion. The first thing I tried was to make it less wide, but then it wasn't possible.
  7. They're not playing to create a story with other people in the community, but they're playing to win.
  8. But then there's the deathmatching reports.
  9. So you're saying we're better off without any rules?
  10. If there's a ban on your account, none of your future characters should be eligible for the $200.000 newbie payments.

    PURGE

Why not just play GTA Online?
  12. I mean that logic only really applies if the car can stay at top speed for a longer period of time. Since it takes longer to get to that top speed if you reduce acceleration, it means you'll need an even longer stretch of road. Where is this going to happen other than on the freeway?
  13. This seems like a weird solution. First of all, if you reduce the acceleration across the board, then those suspects will take longer to get to that 100+ miles per hour. Perhaps they won't even get there? It doesn't seem that logical to me that if you change these evenly, that somehow cops will be at a further disadvantage than before. I'm open to hear why that would be though. As for reducing top speed, that's a bit counter intuitive. If you decrease acceleration, it'll be harder to reach top speeds already. They are currently rather low compared to real life. Part of that is because the map is pretty small, but I'd rather raise the top speed in order to compensate for a reduced acceleration.
  14. Right now, there seems to be a pretty broad agreement that the current way in which people drive is too unrealistic and generally 'too fast'. We established that and now obviously people start pointing fingers at each other because there isn't much else to argue here. Fun, but this achieves nothing of course. This thread should be followed up by a thread where solutions to the problem are polled too. Then we'll see what can feasibly be implemented to solve this.
  15. Speed cameras that ticket the driver. Reduced acceleration for vehicles. I also like the revocation or suspension of licenses, but that seems like a solution that is supposed to be done ICly. The majority of players will complain about both though, because they don't want actual consequences that can affect them.
  16. In my experience, people want other people to drive more realistically. However, when it comes to solutions that may actually effect them, people usually don't support it.
  17. With the current rules in place, it isn't that bad.
  18. Fully support this idea. If you have a valid ban on your record, you can forget about the $200,000 newbie money on any future characters as well. Hit them where it hurts.
  19. There was a requirement to roleplay realistically, and through pressure from IFM, this was removed. No more safety from people who would realistically be around. Instead, you only have to take into account what you actually see. The result, a subsection of players pushed the rules to its absolute limit and made sure to take every single OOC advantage they could get over others. This is where the 4deep sedan with masked players trope comes from. You want people to use common sense, but they wont. The results are in, first on this server, then on GTAW LC. They just wont, period. They will exploit any opportunity they can, because they are not here for storytelling, but for 'winning' in their version of a a PvP RPG. What you suggested was tried, and it failed. Any change to rule 10 has to have a measure that prevents that situation from reoccurring. This has been explained over and over again, in at least 5+ different threads. If you have a solution, nothing is stopping you from presenting it.
