    Unfortunately the smoke doesn't actually do anything other than obstruct vision - and it's not perfectly synced either. I tried testing ideas with @Sam2 a few months ago and we couldn't find a way to turn the smoke grenade launcher into something viable.

    Snake cam already makes the user invisible and fixes their position. Having thrown or fireable tear gas wouldn't be viable in the majority of cases because you'd just be firing at a wall or window and there's no way to actually transfer that gas inside. Why not allow something similar to snakecam, but the user can place down tear gas canisters that emit a smoke particle and anyone within X radius suffers screen effects etc?

  3. I'd like to see more consistency in terms of punishment issued. It appears there's no consistency and people can lie to admins on reports and get warnings, whereas first time offenders get admin jails for something that wasn't malicious.

    I don't think this would work. GTAW rulings are already full of inconsistencies. There's no reason to make it worse by having a wishy washy, vague requirement for reports. "But but this report had three words more and you didn't close it!! Why did you close mine!!" leading to an inevitable staff report.

     

    A hard word count is easier to enforce and if you can't be bothered copy and pasting it into a word counter then quite frankly why should an admin be bothered reading it?

    Reduce the word count to 100. Any reports > the word count? Close it, tell them to respect the rules if they want to make a complaint. If you can't summarize it into the word count, nobody wants to read it anyway.

     

    Any reports with no evidence? Close it. Should've shadowplayed it.  If it's a case of an offline issue where there are clearly logs, that's a different matter.

     

    Reporter argues on the report? Close it. Tell them to respect the rules.

     

    Reported party argues on the report? Admin jail them.

     

    Harsh and firm solutions to people not following the rules and forum reports will quickly become way more manageable to handle.

  8. If the scripts are the same, does it mean configs between the two will be the same? What I had in mind weapon damage - the nature of LC may give rise to a different approach to weapons etc so could weapon damage be adjusted per server as and when or is it constant between the two?

     

    Same with vehicle mods etc?

    Hello.

     

    When somebody is arrested, cops now have to a) get their plea, b) tab out and determine if they're eligible for bail if they plead NG, c) if they are, fine them, d) then release them.

     

    With each of these steps comes an explanation from the cop to the player. Something that you need to tell them every single time to make sure they don't plead the wrong thing or get something wrong. That's a lot of unnecessary typing.

     

    My suggestion is that when someone is /arrestcounty'd, a CEF screen pops up that says: Select your plea with an explanation of the different types of pleas. This then does a discord bot whoodingy to the JSA discord to tell them hey someone's been arrested NG here's their forum name and they've bailed/not bailed.

    CEF page for plea, CEF page for bail yes/no (where applicable)

     

    Discord bot integration w/ JSA discord server (already exists for G6?)

    Cops won't have to type out the same lines every time they arrest and the post-arrest process is streamlined to reduce paperwork.

    Detailed Description 

    The SMG (aka the R* version of an MP5) is terrible. It does less damage than pistols, doing 16 to the body at anything past 12 metres. I think pistols do 36.

     

    The SMG is a very versatile weapon and has many uses - from police K9, Sheriff's OSS, SWAT in CQB situations just to name a few. It's a shame that nobody uses it and nobody has used it for 2 years because it's terrible.

     

    Alternatively, if for whatever reason, it can't be added, why not add https://www.gta5-mods.com/weapons/h-k-mp5 and give it the 10mm calibre so it can have custom damage? I know 10mm isn't a very common calibre since the SAS stopped using the MP5 in the 80s/90s but it'd provide a fix to allow the actual use of an SMG in the mean time.

     

    I made a new thread because for some reason my old one was archived and searching tells me there's no other threads asking to buff the SMG damage.

    As far as I know this is a quick fix in game with the new damage system.

     

    How will it benefit the server?

    More weapons. More roleplay around those firearms.

    Shield does block bullets. That was a simple proof of concept that took about an hour to make. I’m sure the modding and development team can make theirs look way better.

    This is unlikely to be abused as tactical situations involve supervisors, admins, and people within legal factions who can enforce quality control. Any abuse would almost certainly be stamped out before it could have any impact.

    Create and implement custom animations for the position of attention, parade rest and standing at ease so people don't have to keep doing /anim handcuff. It looks stupid.

    More immersive animations and stops officers looking like they've just been arrested by IA.
