  1. Realistically, it's perfectly possible to run whilst being shot. Even if you're hit in a vital area. You're not going to make it far, but it's possible. I've personally seen someone get shot 3 times, two straight to the lung & one in the lower gut, and still able to run down the street and around the corner. Adrenaline is one hell of a drug. Depends entirely on the person, some collapse right then and there, others have the fortitude to do as outlined above. Personally I have no issue with people who don't rp it in the moment itself, nor do I hold it against people. But I do roleplay them the second the adrenaline would start to wear off, and the pain sets in.
  2. Kerosine to airfields like blaine Give a finite amount of fuel in gas stations, so logistic companies who have tankers can then re-fill them on a regular basis. etc etc.. Would be cool to see. Glad it's being looked at atleast.
  3. Is there currently any scriptwise support for this truck? I.E is there a way to make money off of this truck like the trucking script? Or is purely there for cosmetics/rp purposes?
  4. Well damn.. I must've been horribly misdirected then.. I was always under the assumption that their activities lay more with drugs & guns and a near non-existent sex-trade footprint. Various sources I used to base that assumption on always depicted them as morally questionable at best, with a rather honorable trait instilled in them. Certainly an eye opener, but I'm sad more than anything, as up to this point I thought so "highly" of them...
  5. Gonna go ahead 'n delete my post, as I just now realized I'm plugging the LSPD on a topic that's all about LSNN I'm not awake yet. Sue me 🙂
  6. I always direct people who want to RP regular civvies who want to stick to the legal side of things to check the LSPD's civil employment section. There's a few people who find it appealing to RP as a janitor. If you want a job that's guaranteed interaction with people, LSPD receptionist. There's a whole range of things you can apply for, in the near future I think even fleet mechanic jobs will be offered for those that want to take mechanic RP to the next level & be in charge of the department's fleet maintenance.
  7. I honestly don't know why this isn't already a thing. I'm an LEO RP'er, so my knowledge about illegal stuff infrastructure / organizational wise is limited. I hope people weren't serious when they said factions made by admins got instant official status. Cause I'll concur, that's very very unfair & biased. A "Faction" should have it's roots as unofficial, start from literal scratch, and work your way up. With official status being awarded to those who: A) Stick with it, regardless of what happens, and take the good with the bad. B) Provide others with regular content via faction threads or whatever to make it easy to follow the activity. C) Built up enough renown/reputation to not only reinforce the notion of deserving official status, but also known to the community for providing quality roleplay, not only to eachother, but also to other RP groups (I.E Civilians, Cops, etc..) In short, a system that promotes roleplay, hard work and above all, relies on the skills and capabilities of players. And not based off of howmany DM video's to cringy-ass rap music they churn out.
  8. Plus. To add onto what I already said. It's because of those few instances, people take notice and most modern-day vehicles. I'm thinking 2020 & up itterations of vehicles, have anti-theft systems built in directly as standard. I'm thinking about the new Tahoe for instance, that has dedicated anti-theft.
  9. I think the reason this isn't a thing, and why it probably will remain not being a thing, is cause this is the exception, rather than the norm. That, coupled with the fact that there is infact anti-theft options available to emergency vehicles. My department had a system where you'd flick a switch somewhere that keeps the engine running, but locks the vehicle in park. Once activated, you then need to flick a secondary switch which is usually hidden very well, to de-activate the system again. So trust me when I say, anti-theft is a thing, and some systems being very, very elaborate.
  10. There are many people experiencing these issues, it's not an isolated issue. I was told it was due to problems/limitations with the streamer, but I feel it's more directly related to 1.1, as I don't remember having them this severe prior to 1.1 Either case, posting to follow, suffering from the same issues.
  11. You need to chill. You're taking advice I'm giving to someone else and turning it into your own little fantasy. I dunno who you're referring to with "Y'all". There's nobody else involved in this?? This is/was someone who had a genuine question as a new RP'er, and wanted to know stuff about it. If anybody wanted to go after you for whatever it is you did or didn't do. You'd be explaining yourself in player reports, which isn't the case. So again, why you're tripping so hard is beyond me. All this is, is one guy offering advice to someone else. Something you're not even involved in in this stage. I do hope your ranting helped you vent what was clearly a lot of stress. And I do hope in the future you'd stop for a second longer and interpret what is being said, rather than jump to conclusions 🙂 Enjoy the rest of your day.
  12. I discourage everyone from playing the robbing game as your primary means of income. Robbing people brings out the worst in both parties time and time and time again. With the 1 odd exception that happens once every blue moon. Might just be me being cynical. But the first red flag should've been the fact it took them 2 whole minutes to reply to you. That right there instantly gives me vibes that that dude's on discord, teamspeak, whatever else there is and MG'ing like nobody's business. Coupled with the fact that when they did infact roleplay with you, this 3rd party appears out of thin air, by pure chance it seems to save the day. As others stated, there's great, grade A RP to be found. But from my personal opinion as someone who's been around for many years in a bunch of different communities. Robbery RP rarely if ever leads to it. You're far better off exploring other avenue's.
  13. Would be nice to have the arcadius building or something used as a hub, and everyone / every group of people interested in creating a company can rent office space in there and roleplay there. Different companies on different floors, with ample opportunity for those who want to go down this road.

Yet, 99% uses it as a hail-marry despite evidence or in most cases being caught red handed. Aka, not what it's meant for. Aka Abused. If people within judiciary identify it as one of the main contributors to the problems...
  15. An issue I have with the admin team is that sometimes I've got admin A telling me something is fine, and admin B telling me something is not fine, and whoever told you different is wrong. Still a great bunch of people, and when you get helped, they do put in their A-game, but besides the above, I'd have instances where we need an admin with a level of urgency (Think search warrants, house breaches, etc..) and had to sit around for a pro-longued period of time. People are sometimes tied to a warrant for hours because of a chronic lack of admins, further reinforced whenever I do have the mental/physical fortitude to care enough to report, I see 1 admin on, and another 7-10 off A-duty..
  16. Just to make things clear, OP said from the get go this is meant for both sides of the fence. I don't know why people again insist that OP implied this to be reserved for law enforcement only..
  17. Definitely needed. Heard one too many stories of detective cases getting blown or suffering major setbacks because of people metagaming. The fact there's an entire discord where people MG detectives, this is desperately needed.

    Judiciary & You

You just proved my point for me. You don't need a no-contest charge to "Perhaps get yourself out of prison". That's what not guilty is for. You either plead guilty, or you don't. Offering an obscure middle-way that in the words of judiciary themselves gets abused way to often is literally the definition of handicapping yourself. The idea is to streamline and make the courts more efficient.

    Judiciary & You

As a cop rp'er. There are a few things that I'd like to bring up. 1) I've tried multiple times for a periodic review on issues that the department faces on the street, crime related. And each time I've been met with a hopefull response but ultimately that's where it always ends. Traffic related, alot of people have complained about abhorrent driving behavior by people, something that others and myself try to tackle Icly by being extra vigilant for people driving like maniacs, but the penal code set up is lacking in terms of recidisvism and doesn't grant alot of freedom to exercise officer discretion to use. Drivers licenses for example are currently unable to be revoked, which is a clear issue, and worse of all, people know it can't be revoked. They also cannot be suspended unless for certain charges. Something that again, people know about and dance around. The traffic division's been asking for certain things to enhance speed enforcement within the city for many many months, speed camera's set up, superspeeder-clause, automatic upgrades to misdemeanor charges depending on the severity. All left unanswered. 2) The court system is overwhelmed. Everyone is working at 150% capacity, because the plea system is flawed. There are alot of people who plead no contest & not guilty, despite overwhelming evidence. My suggestion would be to get rid of no contest plea's entirely, as they are the main culprit in my eyes atleast. Give people the choice between taking an L, and if they are 110% sure they are being mistreated icly, or that an error in judgement was made judicially, they can go not-guilty and get a proper trial. 3) Fines are a joke. Not paying your fines is not a misdemeanor offense (while it should be). And people just let them stack with no consequence. There is an unnecessarily complex system in more that's nothing more than a ping-pong match between the 2 LEO factions and the courts that wastes so much time people just don't want to bother dealing with it. In my entire time in the faction, which is almost a year and a half. I've only been involved, or even heard of a single repo being issued and executed on behalf of the courts. And that in and of itself took a month or so to execute, only for the guy to pay his due's that very night, a few hours later, and got his car back. All that. Took a month. I didn't know whether this was hilarious or sad.
  20. Then the community gets upset and we get called robocops. Not joking. Someone from staff verify if the lights are actually synced or not? Cause I'm hearing conflicting stories.
  21. Catch-22 is certain divisions within the LSPD employ ALPR tech on their cars. You drive with a faulty/no plate, they'll nail you for it on the spot for registration violations. You drive with a regular plate, commit a crime & you manage to get one of those specialized units after you, and they get a scan of your plate, you're hooped. They'll know in seconds who you are, provided it's not a stolen vehicle. Them ALPR's are no joke. If you've ever wondered why a police car's driving very slowly, and close to parked cars by the side of the road, or pulls in behind you and stays there, it's reading the plates.
  22. I want to give this a bump. Because I know there's a not insignificant number of people who are drawn to journalism and have struggled in the past with joining organizations that eventually ended up not being able to produce enough content. However, about a month ago, the LSPD posted a number of listings for civilian employments, some old and some new ones. And one of the new ones was a position called Public Relations Specialists I wanted to go ahead and encourage people who are (still) interested in a career in journalism to give the LSPD Forums a look if you are someone who'd like to be writing articles on behalf of the LSPD. We're happy to have you!
  23. It's hard to coin wether or not "In broad daylight" should be used as an argument in a robbery case. If I work a 9 to 5 and can only play during the evening, then I'll never have that issue. But if I work a night shift, and get home when it gets morning, or play during the day in general. Timezones shouldn't be used against people if they want to roleplay. Being fair, I myself used the term "In broad daylight" to denote particular events that I found super silly. More specifically, the gunning down of 4-5 cops "In broad daylight". But it's hard to draw the line in What's acceptable, and what isn't. If robberies should be fine during the daylight, then technically shooting police officers should be too, but then again. Shooting police officers is a guaranteed lose-lose scenario regardless of how you turn it. You'll either turn up dead, or locked up for the rest of your life. In essence it makes sense and explains why most shootings occur at night, where it's easier to escape & evade. Long story short, Do I think it should be used as an argument in player reports? No. People are dependent on how they live their lives in terms of when they're ingame, rping.
