  1. But there's no way for you to know if they're responding or not. Just because they're not running code doesn't mean they're not responding. The policy got changed a while ago where you can't run with lights to non-emergency calls anymore. Granted, some, myself included still "break policy" and do it anyway. I've got the feeling you're paraphrasing with the number, as I doubt you sat there counting every cop car that passed. But if you said that shots were fired in the area, could be they're containment units trying to locate suspicious behavior related to that shooting. Could be they're as I said earlier en-route to other calls, could be on their way back to the station with evidence, could be en-route to backup calls, other traffic stops, augment someone else somewhere, list goes on. I'll delve a little further and share some statistics with you. Alot of people, much like yourself, see one instance they don't agree with, and then that's all they see. What I mean in this particular case, there are alot more people playing than just you. At peak, Catering to 900 plus people is not easy. Someone in the LSPD did some data analysis on the call volume, for the period of 00:00 01/AUG/2023 - 13:27 14/AUG/2023. So a 2 week period. In those 2 weeks? 1,467 emergency calls were made. On average, that's just over 100 calls made to 911 Daily.. And these are specifically calls aimed towards the LSPD & the LSSD, we're not county the LSFD here. On average, that's about 1 emergency call every thirteen minutes On average, during peak. The numbers of the LSPD range from 20-35-40ish. Sometimes, that number swells to 70+ like now, when fresh recruits graduate academy and get thrown into the meatgrinder. Know that those cops, do their own police work, their own traffic stops, if they respond to any scene, that's them out of action for as long as that scene lasts, could be as simple as a few minutes, could be as someone else said, hours. Shootings can tie units up to a scene for upwards of an hour. Processing individuals takes time aswell. Cops get into traffic accidents aswell, those need to get investigated and means someone from traffic has to come down and do an investigation, which takes time aswell. Detectives might need help canvasing an area, or need officers for >insert any of the dozens of reasons here<. The LSPD prioritizes roleplay above all else, so all of these officers in situations I mentioned above, make sure to actually provide meaningfull roleplay to the best of their abilities. With all that said, I summarise, please don't immediately jump to the conclusion "Oh, the police did not respond to my scene, and left me in a very bad mood. How dare they." And while that might suck, agreed. Please think that you might've needed police, but as you said yourself, somewhere down the block, people were shooting at eachother. On the other side of the freeway, someone was breaking into someone else's home. At the same time, a pursuit was barreling down vespucci with 0 regards for human life. Happening at the same time as a break-in in mirror park, an overdose in vespucci, and 2 traffic stops, one on a stolen vehicle, and another that had a K9 snif run on it, only to have that K9 detect guns/drugs in the car. And lastly, someone trespassing onto IMEX property again and trying to light their cars on fire for a laugh. I'll take that IMEX situation a little further, I'm a traffic officer, assigned to the traffic desk, that's a specialized assignment. To spell the obvious, my focus is mainly related to vehicle offenses, stolen cars, etc. I picked up a "Boring" call as you'd say because nobody else was available, and went across town to deal with it. Was at IMEX. By the time I was done, 45 minutes had passed. Taking into account getting witness statements, canvasing the area, preliminary police investigations, gathering evidence. And that was just me. For one scene, so you see, in those 45 minutes, I would've already missed another 4-5 emergency calls. Cause I'm already working this one. See what I'm getting at? The server does not pause itself, your scene was one among many that happen around the clock. Sometimes it just be that way. If you find the above to be unacceptable? Sign up & become part of the solution, like the 30 new recruits that graduated today. Hope this helped create some new perspective on the matter 🙂 Credits to @Miharu for the statistics
  2. Same, cops I know both european and american carry 4 sets on them, plus more in the car. Cuff a big dude and you need atleast 2, if it's a really chonky dude even 3.
  3. Not a bad idea at all, if it can be implemented.
  4. Lowkey why I didn't pursue it. While I applaud them trying to create a public transportation faction, nobody wants to sit through applications, interviews, on the job training just to drive a bus around.
  5. This could be expanded upon beyond the tugboat.. Adding in several new boats for not just FD, but for the rangers aswell as PD/SD. We don't have a coastguard faction. But there's plenty of vehicles both maritime & maritime-aviation wise that could be used by multiple factions. Take one of the coast guard cutters for example. Take one of their litoral patrol boats. Can function as firefighting boat, and can function as wildlife/marine enforcement by the rangers. Also the chance for some maritime aircraft to be added, think Jayhawk, think dolphin. Both equally viable as wildlife enforcement and above all, search & rescue. Something both SAPR & LSFD could use. It's not nearly as niché as people think it is.
  6. I thought the same, but apparently the script exempts faction vehicles from being able to get modifications made to them in general. Maybe this was done pre-emptively to prevent abuse and rogue mechanics / faction members from adding their own modifications or maxing out vehicles that weren't intended to be maxed out? I don't know the basis for setting it up this way.
  7. Very straightforward. The SAPR allows it's members to get modifications added or removed from their patrol vehicles, I.E. Bumpers, pushbars, ALPR readers, cages, tint, etc.. as they see fit. Big modifications that enhance the properties of the vehicle speed or handeling wise still require LFM approval, but cosmetic changes are allowed without needing LFM Approval. I'd like to be able, as a mechanic working for the SAPR, to be able to set & remove the extra's on the vehicles we have without having to wait a very long time for an admin to beam over to me, and do it for me when I can literally do it myself. It lets me do my thing and it lets the admins focus on things they should be focusing on.
  8. They already perma-seize in some cases, it's just rare cause people usually namechange to avoid dealing with the consequences before it gets that far. There was a quasi-HSIU back in the day, but that got removed(read: nerfed into the ground) when people started taking too many L's and complained that police shouldn't be able to keep up with their paul_Walker9000 character. There were a bunch of active, solid drivers within PD's traffic unit back then and they worked a little "Too" well when in group & coordinating with eachother, people got upset, became more & more vocal, and powers that be decided that's it. No more high speed interceptors. Which in all honesty was sad, cause there was some genuinly good roleplay mixed with the occasional high-octane chase. You had that "Need for speed atmosphere" without the cringe and blatant non-rp that is prevalent today. And if those traffic hunters were actually after you, you had to weigh your options "Do I want to go to jail and take the L, or do I risk it all to get away and if I succeed, get a massive boost of notoriety with the crew, or take an even bigger L if I fail." And when you succeeded, you popped up on the radar of everyone else in the traffic unit, so they'd pull out all the stops to nail you the next time they caught sight of you. It was good fun and there was mutual respect, but gradually the mutual respect faded and gave rise to "We as racers need to be on top without equal, and anything and anyone that threatens our superiority is stiffling our roleplay and is play 2 win." The good old days 😕
  9. Welcome to the real world... I fully support a way for people to have place where they can show well roleplayed looting and get those items from admins. Provided that it's realistic, and feasible. And I understand the frustration among the very, very small minority of people who do roleplay it properly.
  10. I have legit lost count on the amount of brainless windowlickers breach police scenes with dozens of cops standing nearby. Slim shady to a dead body, again in plain view of cops. Spamming Y, and then sprinting off as fast as they can, and the moment they get a 10 meter lead, disconnect around the corner. I swear to you, the term "Lootgoblin" cannot be better defined as it is in the server right now. And when it happens every shootout, of which there can be up to 5-7 an hour, hour after hour. It gets extremely annoying. This forces people to think before they just catapult themselves in shootouts with zero repercussions, as now they won't have the homie hiding in the bushes sprinting out to gobble up all the loot like a E-pro PUBG player.
  11. Defeats the purpose of this intricate system entirely. And if anything, will force players to weigh their options and THINK before risk losing their guns.
  12. Wholeheartedly approve.. Hopefully it serves the purpose of stomping out this lootgoblin mentality once and for all.
  13. It has, and I'm in no small part to blame and for that I do apologize. To get us back on topic, as I believe this thread holds alot of information management could learn from and perhaps learn lessons from. It'd be a shame to see it closed. Now, I personally feel that a strong way to curb the root cause of all this is the same way someone earlier said, and I'll quote as such: That, I feel may be the step in the right direction.
  14. It's genuinly bad. And it's always in south LS. It's like the olympic freeway is this magic barrier where once you cross it, everything south just has the personality of a (loot)goblin and just cares about fighting people, robbing people and blockwiping rival gangs for their cringe as fuck youtube DM compilation. And worst part it's actively being encouraged and condoned by the powers that be. Without trying to sound pessimistic , I don't think it'll change without widespread and serious reforms. Just look at what the Vagos did, how far people are willing to go to break the rules and how widespread it was after it came to light. And that's just the ones who got caught.
  15. https://streamable.com/z6u9ky Case & point thahah
  16. This is from ONE car. At this point it's mopping the floor with the tapwater running.
  17. Cause it did. https://streamable.com/ljvk3d https://streamable.com/xv48sl I can keep going, server management knows.. Those that can change this mentality issue know all to well this happens on the daily. Just not doing anything about it. Not that anything short of a complete server-wide gun-wipe will change anything. Every single gunfight I've been in the past YEAR. Involved Carbine Mk.2's. Those are rifles that deal more damage than the regular patrol rifle. Every player south of the olympic freeway and in vespucci has atleast 2 crates of these stashed under their bed or in their car's hidden compartment. Like I said, any chance to curb this and fight it has long since passed.
  18. https://streamable.com/uhdjmy Untill a big, big change comes down from server management. This will continue every night of every day.
  19. If this were a faction, hands are tied on both IC & OOC levels. ICLY, all we can do is up the presence in the area this happened in. Re-issue plate carriers to patrol & waive the patrol rifle restrictions. But we did that a month or so ago, and instead people took it as a challenge and spent the next 3 days & nights fighting open street warfare with LSPD patrol & tactical units, Aswell as the sheriffs. (Not joking, this actually happened.) And OOCLY, we can't issue injunctions, only enforce them. So someone up in the justice department has to actually bother/care enough to issue them. And in terms of full blown RICO cases being built like the old LSRP takedown casefiles. Also can't do those, cause the illegal faction community/management actively blocks any attempts to get that in place cause it'd be too disruptive to their RP. Here, have another video on the house. https://streamable.com/uhdjmy This is just 2 video's from tonight only.. Again. I'm not joking when I say this is a daily occurence.
  20. Incorrect. 3 minute permanent ban would cause loss of players. Can't have that. Plus it also deprives them of their right to rehabilitate themselves. We'll leave it with a 2 minute ajail and a note in the admin records that'll in all probability get ignored and serve zero purpose going forward. That way we encourage them to do some serious reflecting on how they could have done this better. As for the night ruined by the 4 officers present there, I'm sure they won't mind. It's what they're here for right? Serve the rest of the server with free target practice, an outlet for all the real-life frustration people need to shake loose, and most importantly... content for the next upcoming lets play / twitch stream.
  21. Not to my knowledge. Those involved logged off cause it ruined their night, for the 3rd or 4th time this week.. what can ya do I guess.
  22. Happens on the daily, not surprised anymore. Nobody'll lift a finger anyway.
  23. Bust out the popcorn gents, Got another great example of prime quality roleplay demonstrated here. https://streamable.com/ou6tm7 Reason for the stop? Failure to maintain lanes. Another day, another group of 9 year olds wanting to play siccario. Have to say, I'm really noticing the crack down by server staff against (V)DM.
