  1. We're talking about "I made a 20 meter jump off a cliff/bridge/roof with my vehicle purposefully to avoid cops as I know they won't follow" scenarios here, not whatever you're describing. Yes. If you're intentionally breaking rules to gain an advantage/avoid law enforcement (or other pursuers), AND you get punished for that, you should lose the assets that would've otherwise been seized from you if you were caught (which didn't happen solely because you broke the rule). We're not talking about anything disputable/appealable, but blatant rulebreaks/trolling.
  2. It's written a bit chaotically but the premise behind it is sound. Basically if you engage in blatant rulebreaking (things like Deathmatching, Vehicle Deathmatching, non-rp driving to escape law enforcement) that then gets punished by an admin, you should, in addition to the OOC punishment, lose the assets/items used in said rule breaking. We're not talking about losing $200,000 car for not roleplaying a crash properly, but there are instances of people deliberately breaking OOC rules during altercations with Law Enforcement to sit out a 30-60minute ajail but keep expensive firearms/avoid their vehicle getting towed. This should not be happening. I would extend that suggestion to all outstanding IC charges that should get immediately applied once the player get ajailed in a situation that prevents his arrest.
  3. Rules mean nothing if players don't know they're existing - making them literally non-enforceable. I would argue that it is very much relevant to what you're proposing. You abide by more rules because illegal roleplay (by its nature) has much higher potential to be disruptive to other players, therefore needs to be regulated to prevent (potential) abuse.
  4. But on a server this is happening weekly to each building if not daily. There's only so many times you can roleplay around it before it becomes stale.
  5. While I totally get that the prison culture differs from jail culture quite a lot and the former appeals more to the broader community (no doubt thanks to more books, shows movies, and broadly accessible materials on the subject) I still think that from a strictly gameplay-oriented perspective - this will be a step backward. LSSD already struggles to attract enough LEOs interested in permanent custody positions, and we're talking about establishing a brand new faction that is supposed to focus entirely on this type of roleplay and somehow attract more players. SADOC/SADCR from LSRP that so many people seem to be nostalgic towards had the exact same staffing issues and the prison was closed to any sort of faction/inmate conflict bar few hours a day due to there not being enough guards on duty. On top of that, pretty much the entire legal system we currently have in place (bails, parole) has been built with the jail in mind, and will need to be heavily adjusted to work with prison - That's not gonna happen overnight, and is going to require a lot of effort from a huge number of people to make any functional and narrative sense. The Jail comes with its own problems and limitations, but the resources required to get the Prison going could be put towards further developing and improving the current system, rather than breaking it apart to create a foundation for something that might end up in the exact same place couple of months/weeks down the line. Hard not to draw GTAW LC parallels with this hype.
  6. It would be near impossible to report your car stolen in the off-peak hours - when there's often no law enforcement on duty. - If you craving for interaction you can always /reportstolen and /911 simultaneously - which many people do, and we do our best to follow up on that. On that note, It would be nice for on duty LEO to be able to /reportstolen vehicle on behalf of someone.
  7. It puzzles me why you assume that's not already a thing. Contrary to popular belief there's really not that many LEO's on duty at any given time. Two-three large scenes overlapping each other can easily eat up 80-90% of faction's rescources.
  8. I have personally always seen that as another means to put your illegal faction on the map, exactly because they are much smaller, and unless you're roleplaying on a specific street/in a certain neighborhood you might not even realize that the organization is even operating there. Therefore it's a way to stand out from the crowd of similarly sized groups. Nonetheless, it's not for everyone and the reasons mentioned above do not apply for most legal factions since those are in the spotlight pretty much by default. I personally never liked putting too much about my characters on the forums, as it then takes away from actually meeting and learning about that character. There are different approaches to forum screenshots and I would argue that not sharing the full development of your character on forums can be a conscious choice and there's nothing wrong with it.
