Ignacio Sanchez at the age of sixteen ♦ Jamestown, South LS ♦ It is not the most appealing place to grow in, most families will avoid it because they don't want their children to grow in a reality where selling drugs, vandalism, violence and prostitution activities are the normal day to day basis, the thought that one morning as a mom, you will find a handgun in your sons drawer is just terrifying. But some families cannot afford to live in a better neighbourhood. Usually the father works 24/7 in the factory, and their mother is either a prostitute or works at two jobs to even exist, its filled with hood scum, cold hearted killers and greedy motherfuckers, a place where you cannot just go alone in an alley without getting robbed. The small percentage that manage to get out the hood are the people who won the lottery, robbed some rich ass guy from the north or some miracle genius kid that avoids any interactions. ♦ The Sánchez Family ♦ For the small Sanchez family, life means working hard and surviving, when Ignacio was younger, his grandmother Theresa would always tell him "El flojo y el mezquino, recorren dos veces el mismo camino" It means “The lazy and the shabby will walk the same path twice.” she always told him that in order to survive he has to work and concentrate on the important things of life like family and love. Theresa plays a very big part in Ignacios life, even though she always gets home late due to her late night shifts, he understands that she does all of that for him, so he can enjoy his Mole Poblano over some chicken. Ignacio's father Lorenzo, was locked up right before Ignacio's birth, right before Alejandra immigrated to the US, he was accused of weapon and drug trafficking, before his trial he managed to give Alejandra some cash so she can move to the US and start a better life with her mother and child. Growing up with an absent father is a stressful and hard reality for Ignacio, he needed that someone to look up to, his hero, someone who will motivate him in his good and bad times. That is when Ignacio started getting more involved in his hood. Alejandra and Lorenzo in their late 20's Lately when Ignacio turned 16, times were really rough for him and his mother, so he thought of some new ways to help her, even if it meant risking his life for it, he started hanging out with people older than him, that talk more about business, responsibility and contributing. Before that his would see them here and there in his neighbourhood, he knew who they are and what they do, but he never really got too close to them. But now, Ignacio is sick of dreaming, he pursues the things he desires. Lower then average grades
