  1. I've been wondering about this myself too. I've seen people use the tackle script to stun someone, and then get a hits/shots in.
  2. You should've posted the original shitpost 💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀
  3. I once caught someone drive 250 miles per hour along Great Ocean Highway, but that person was cheating so it doesn't count.
  4. Thank you for raiding and busting my loud downstairs neighbor.
  5. A CK only punishes players who invest time and effort into making an in-depth character. I've unintentionally managed to duplicate the ammo of the gun I was equipping just by using /equip, and it has happened to me multiple times. The way I've fixed it was to unequip and equip the firearm again. Edit: I forgot to +1 this thread.
  6. This is the third or fourth time you had to be reminded by someone else that we're not talking about people who roleplay crashes in this thread, but people who drive unrealistically and don't roleplay crashes or consequences.
  7. Here's a list of common responses for when you pull someone for a minor traffic infraction: *Starts driving off and evades, turning an infraction into a felony* Here's a list of common responses for when you pull someone over for going 110 miles per hour in downtown through intersections, and clipping a sidewalk: "Why don't you catch /REAL/ criminals?" "..." (person doesn't respond to any roleplay because they refuse to roleplay) *Shoots you* *Also starts driving off and evades, often not roleplaying any vehicle crash and ending the situation up in a half an hour admin sit with the time of 12+ cops wasted.* Their buddies will try to physically interject themselves between you and the driver you're trying to interact with. I probably forgot some stereotypes. The average GTA:World driver is the most entitled, selfish and unhinged (in-character) individual out there.
  8. Keep Task Manager open in the Performance tab, scroll down to GPU and click on it. Keep an eye on it, and check it out when your game lags. Check the temps out, and check if the "Dedicated GPU memory" isn't full at 8 out of 8 GB. Swapping from vMEM to normal memory can and likely will cause slowdowns.
  9. The moment there are admins who OOCly change parts of a law due to OOC reasons, it's an OOC issue and any of the consequences should fall on them. Can't have them change something and then have us deal with the resulting outfall. This is precisely what I've been arguing to this person via Discord DMs.
  10. I've had an individual come forward in my Discord DMs that previously has done exactly what you and I described shouldn't be done, and argued to me that a cite & release on the curbside is an absolutely valid thing to do.
  11. -1 You already get the minimum punishment if you plea guilty.
  12. It being an infraction will probably reduce a massive timesink for law enforcement officers. I can complete the paperwork for 3 different traffic tickets faster than I can deal with the whole arrest procedure for someone with a clean criminal record when I pick them up for a simple misdemeanor.
  13. As I tried to explain in that post. If the officer decides to charge someone with misdemeanor Reckless Driving, they can't just use Officer's Discretion and just give someone a fine for MC 408. Reckless Driving and forego the arrest. The officer is required to go through all it, and that is when this procedure starts.
  14. The problem with those charges is that someone going 30 miles over the speed limit isn't necessarily driving in a reckless manner or committing vehicular endangerment. Besides that, the officer will have to explain how the person is driving recklessly/in an endangering manner in the arrest report, most officers don't want to do that. And the officer until this fine is added is REQUIRED to actually arrest the individual and go through the entire detainee processing procedure for both the misdemeanor & felony, that even when you use Officer's Discretion you can't just decide to not imprison someone for Reckless Driving, even if you decide to have them charged for it. Adding the fine of Excessive Speeding will allow officers to deal with traffic offenses in a speedy manner, yet this doesn't protect people from getting charged with Reckless Driving or Vehicular Endangerment, as officers can and should still arrest someone if they've found someone driving in a reckless manner.
  15. Yeah but unlike in the game, you (hopefully) don't drive over double the speed limit at over 100 mph / 160 km/h.
  16. Its already a rule. Using /mask to hide your player's name tag behind a mask ID may only be done when the character's face is properly obstructed. Certain items in the mask store are present for character customization and shouldn't be used to /mask unless there is another object (eg. a motorcycle helmet) present to obstruct the character's face.
  17. It doesn't always decrease though, I keep a close eye on my vehicle health in /dl and I think it only decreases in specific situations.
  18. @KL @varthshenon As I said in my reply, this lowering of the speed limit would be accompanied by lowering the top speed of the vehicles themselves. If you reduce the acceleration of vehicles, then they'll take longer to reach top speed. But I'm sure that persistent ones will reach it regardless, especially with how GTA:V physics work. Police will have a much harder time intercepting these individuals if their cars also have a lower acceleration. Many cops out there already have a hard time catching up to vehicles going full speed, as they're often already long gone before you reach the top speed to intercept them.
  19. I'm not sure if just lowering the acceleration is the solution, this would make it even harder for cops to catch suspects who are already going 100+ miles per hour. I think that lowing the top speed of vehicles and possibly acceleration would actually have a positive impact. With that you can also lower the speed limit on the highway to 90/80 miles per hour. Lower the speed limit on county roads to 60/70 miles per hour. Lower the speed limit in the city to 40/50 miles per hour. The speed limit should of course be adjusted to something sane. The current speed limit in the city of 60 miles per hour (96 km/h) is literal highway speeds in a lot of places. Lowering vehicle speeds in GTA:W will probably enhance immersion, as players will take the time to appreciate where they're driving. I know I often do as I like to take a bicycle ingame and leisurely ride it around at 7 AM server time. It also will likely increase player interactions, encourage people to interact with things around them as they're encouraged to take the time to look around them, instead of just the traffic in front of them. This will very likely improve safety, as players will have more time to react to sudden changes in traffic or the environment, including things that many players currently pass off as "lag" or "desync". The neighborhoods and generally the world will feel bigger. Edit: Not turning this into a legal v. illegal debate. But one upside from lowering the top speed of vehicles is that police response times will increase slightly!
  20. I've personally handled plenty of traffic collision investigations, and I really don't hesitate to mark a report as "One or more officer(s) are at fault or share fault for causing the collision and further follow up is necessary." if an officer is at fault.
  21. LEOs drive 120 mph through intersections because the car they're driving drives 125 mph through intersections.
  22. Most crashes happen due to at least one individual speeding.
  23. People who lag or know that they have sync issues shouldn't be driving at 100+ mph through the city to begin with.
  24. Going double the speed limit should have some sort of consequence. I'd be fine with someone speeding slightly getting a small fine. But if you go 20, 30, or even 60 miles per hour over the speed limit, it should have some sort of IC consequence. A points system, or doubling of the fine at each 15/20 miles per hour you're overspeeding would be a possible deterrent. Edit: Let's say you're doing 120 miles per hour in the city center, where you're allowed to do 60 miles per hour. And let's say the overspeeding increments is at 15 miles per hour. This would mean that ( 120 - 60 ) / 15 = 4, you're overspeeding 4 times. Any fine you'd be getting will be multiplied by 4. Speeding first time? $10000 fine, second time? $20000 fine. 3rd time? $30000.
