  1. Unfortunately, this has been suggested a handful of times and has been denied. The same will be applied here, it's not something management is looking to introduce right now.

    Property Management Newsletter #1

    November 2022 - November 2023

    (January 2024 also included in certain areas)

    A couple of words from myself - the year 2023 was an exciting one in terms of progression, development, transparency, and internal changes. We've effectively found ways to improve our systems and we're going into 2024 with a better understanding of how to streamline and communicate efficiently with one another. We look to continue to adapt and add to our ever-growing demand by the month. 2024 holds some really exciting updates and we're looking forward to showcasing them with you like never before. Collectively as a community, we've achieved some fantastic things, one being an engaging community meeting held every month where players can directly discuss with Property Management, changes, suggestions, questions, and provide feedback directly to the consumer. We've found a positive impact by hosting these meetings and have created many new features in game as products of them. We will continue as a community to build a strong bridge between Property Management, the property market, and with players.

    I would like to think that Property Management is headed in the right direction, we have a strong team working tirelessly and with an incredible effort to plow through hundreds of requests each month. We understand that we're far from perfect but with each month passing us by we find new features to add be it internally or externally for the community and we have various ongoing projects as stepping stones towards perfection. I want to thank every player who has requested from us, learned from us, communicated with us, and provided us feedback this year. Some were bittersweet, however, we go in optimistically and will continue to do what we know best.

    By no means are we perfect and we know there are still outstanding issues we have yet to rectify, however, positively speaking we're on the right path. So if you will, please enjoy this mini-newsletter containing as many statistics as I could get and a shoutout to every single Developer, Web Developer, and Admin who has contributed towards this and towards making Property Management a better experience.

    EDIT: Also felt obligated to share my gratitude and thanks with you all who remain patient with us.

    From coming back into PM this year, I'm really proud of how far this sub team has come. It's been a rough ride, especially for those who stuck around for so long. However, the dynamic/fluidity that PM is consistently having, trying to improve, trying to hear from the community and talking to them, discussing things - is something I thought I'd never see. It's nice to see how far we've come, and cheers to next year gaining more traction with that. Shout out to the developers who have helped us immensely try to get us more organized, and added scripts to make more things possible. And shoutout to Selena/Lomadias for being yin/yang of the sub team and making it great in both in their own ways.

    It was a stressful year, requests ramped up in numbers quickly and we noticed that, however we managed to ride it out and provide quick turnovers and efficient handling of requests. We made a lot of improvements to the workflow as well as the user interface, published guides and updated rules that needed to be updated to further streamline how efficient the team is. Despite some things we tested out and didn't turn out as good as we expected, we still managed to pull through and improve the subteam to a level it hasn't seen before, we got new leads and a returning one and I firmly believe we have the best team, both leads and other PM members, with solid knowledge that helps handle all queries in a timely manner - obviously we haven't been perfect and we've had a few slips here and there but alas we are human and we make mistakes, but I think we've given it our best and we've amended the wrongs to the best of our ability.

    Being in property management has allowed me to help players further their development by ensuring their requests are often achieved but it also helped me join a team where we all look out for one another. Throughout 2023 we've managed to overhaul many systems and provided a more robust way of handing out properties.

    I don't think people quite understand the amount of work that goes behind the scenes, and whilst we can't please everyone and we make mistakes, I do like to think we've changed dramatically and manage to help a majority of players reach their goals. On the off chance we are unable to we are always approachable to help point players in the right direction.

    The team itself from PM leads right down to our newest members (and old) have been amazing in supporting each other and trying our best to stay on top of the many requests we do get. I know for a fact in 2024 we will be even better.

    Hey everyone,

    first of all I want to wish you all a happy new year!

    2023 has been an exciting year for us all in Property Management. We have handled an incredible amount of requests over the span of this year, but still had a focus on improving the overall experience for you as the players. New features have been implemented, suggestions we received have been discussed and pushed to development and we are striving to remain in close contact to you all as best as we can, be it over discord or over forum messages or in game reports.

    Personally for me as the head of Property Requests I am always more than happy when I see a business that we helped get a holding on the server starting to attract the love of the roleplay community. Businesses are the basis for the GTAW economy and I can assure everyone, that I am there to help the business owners wherever possible, same as in 2023.

    Property Management has one of the highest workloads on the server, but we are still striving forward to help you all the best we can. We now took a short break from Requests to collect new energy so that we can start into 2024!

    Lomadias — Today at 22:05 (Assistant Head of Property Management)

    2023 was a huge year for us. We welcomed a ton of new members, welcomed back existing members and brought in a TON of mega changes that really define the modern PM. We're taking strides to improve communication and transparency, and while there's still some areas to work on, we're stronger here than we've ever been.

    It has been a hard year, the team hasn't had a break and we've had over 7000 requests. Regardless of what type of request that is, it's a ridiculous number for this little game we play. I certainly never expected it to get this busy, but it shows the creativity the drive players have with unique roleplay concepts. It has been a blast to help them make it happen.

    The team has taken the last year in it's stride, and I couldn't be prouder of how we've done. We've formed an incredibly strong leadership team and working alongside Selena as her assistant head of PM, I'm confident that going into the next year we're going to continue the upward trend of change and improvements.

    The team doesn't get enough love, but they've absolutely kicked ass this year and I want each of them to know just how much we appreciate it.

    We wouldn't have been able to make as many changes as we have without the support of the Dev team. All of them have been instrumental, Gibbz, Selena, Masterus, it has been so amazing to have the support both in game, and on the UCP which helped us streamline so much.

    I'm always impressed with the workload that PM continues to output every month.

    Their commitment to the process means that we consistently give players more opportunities to progress, develop and create more impactful roleplay with each other and that's mega work.

    I think we all understand exactly just how much PM does, and we couldn't do what we do without the dedicated individuals that keep it afloat - so massive thanks to each and every admin who dedicates time to keep things going.

    9) Offensive Roleplay

    The purpose of this rule is to find a balance between allowing players to be comfortable when playing while still allowing some freedom during roleplay. The roleplay that is restricted under this rule falls under the broad term of "Offensive Roleplay", but it does not mean that any roleplay that offends a player is not allowed.

     Offensive Roleplay includes the following;

    • torture;
    • dismemberment;
    • other roleplay that may disgust another player, for example a graphic description of an injury.

    To do any of the roleplay listed above, it must be done with the OOC consent of all players involved prior to the roleplay being started.

    Offensive roleplay must be conducted away from other players and areas where players are likely to stumble across it. If an admin deems a location too public, it can be considered a breach of the rule. It is the responsibility of the players participating in the offensive roleplay to try to keep it away from players that may be uncomfortable with witnessing it. Players knowingly entering an area where offensive roleplay is occurring are assumed to have consented for the purposes of this rule. An example would be entering a strip club or a location where they know a character is being tortured.

    If a player is uncomfortable with the roleplay and they are a participant, they may request that it stops at any time.

    If a player witnesses offensive roleplay and they do not wish to see it, they may remove themselves from the scene.

    Examples:

    • torturing a player without making sure they are fine with participating in that kind of roleplay;
    • describing a gruesome injury in detail when someone arrives at a scene.

    The following types of roleplay are not allowed to happen on the server at all:

    • incest;
    • cannibalism;
    • bestiality;
    • necrophilia;
    • paedophilia.
    • Rape roleplay is fully forbidden.
      • This also includes complaints, allegations, and any of the like when it comes to rape roleplay. This is to avoid possible scenes where this actually will be claimed to have had happened.

    Sexual roleplay is covered in Rule 19.

    Creation of notes are under your responsability : if sexual or offensive notes that you created are found by other players, this will be considered as offensive roleplay without permission given.
