  1. Not really a fan of this suggestion, the 'mixing of OOC and IC' is slight and leads to more good than harm. I remember seeing properties that have two buyout prices, one for roleplayers in the area and a more expensive one for everyone else. I think these are great
  2. Who exactly is that LEOs can't keep track of gangbangers from FB? Are they people working in a gang unit...? We have no issue with keeping track of people if needed from FB or whatever, and there have been warrants issued based almost entirely on evidence from FaceBrowser.
  3. Looking at this closely. No luck needed. Take this far.
  4. The Sheriff's Department roleplays two active stations, Paleto Bay Station (based on the IRL LASD Santa Clarita Station) and Davis Station (based on Bompton Station). These stations cover both the city and the county.

  6. In an ideal world, sure. But all of this is barely feasible. Snitching won't occur with RICO, rather the opposite as 99% of people will not snitch on their faction. People will continue to gun down cops to escape a speeding ticket. It's not any LEOs job to police the server, we don't have to respond to every call or to investigate every scene. We investigate factions which contribute back to our own characters development in a positive way, like V13. RICO won't change anything but give overpowered cops another tool at their disposal, which will have little actual impact.

LETS GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
  8. To quote from my messages in the Great Debate Discord It's a lot more difficult to do these things than people think. These investigations require essentially OOC cooperation and a mutual understanding between LEOs and the illegal factions which are being investigated. It is extremely uncommon for this to happen, people do not enjoy taking L's, never mind potentially leading to a shutdown of what you and your friends have sent the last few months of your life building. For some people (assumedly everyone posting here according to their support of RICO and injunctions) that's just how it is IC, and is fine, but for a lot more people they'd resist due to essentially wasting the last few months of their life developing a faction. How do you balance this with LEO's not being seen as play-to-win, an example can be when detectives have to PM people asking if they have fingerprints on a gun, they inherently give up the secrecy of their investigation OOC, if the player being messaged even responds. People will react ICly to these OOC factors to defend their character, where they stop logging in as a result of being OOCly aware of an investigation. Another already prominent example is that people don't snitch, we don't need to list off the millions of 14 year olds facing life but still decide loyalty to people they met IC a week ago is the right choice. It's been stated before that when people find out you're a IC snitch OOC, CKs tend to follow for any sort of reason, because they 'are acting suspicious'. As noted by others, the rate of attrition is extremely demotivating, many cases go cold due to OOC factors, such as voiding key evidence, main players getting banned or some other ramifications.
  9. The IC goal is to shut down criminal enterprise, OOCly detectives do not attempt to shut down any faction. Our only goal (speaking as a sergeant in a detective bureau) is to provide high quality investigative roleplay for both LEOs and the faction being investigated to enjoy. Many people here are missing that fact, they would denounce play-to-win cops who hate illegal roleplay OOCly and do all they can to shut down all avenues of illegal roleplay but then question why detectives aren't dedicating their time to shutting down a faction ICly (which always has ramifications to OOC).
  10. It's the magic get out of jail free card, people will just roleplay it to avoid any investigation into their activity at all.
  11. Congratulations all, especially to the new support homies... 🫀
  12. The texture issue is being fixed soon, it'll be better. I used the original map mod anyway so it's still super neat, not sure if it's possible to make it optional though. Not too much of a fan of the state parks being labelled myself either.
  13. Arresting the key affiliates/OOC leadership will shut down 99% of factions
