Politics and religious topics are generally kept off the forums as they will devolve into flame wars. The forums aren't a vehicle for all discussions, rather most posts should be derived someway to GTAW. Perhaps it would have been better for that topic to be in off topic, however I think that considering the prevalence of this ruling and impacts on society at large, keeping these topics off the forums just helps to keep conversations focused and to avoid sensitive topics which can cause offence.

And how exactly will giving more civilians firearms stop them suffering (a point I dispute anyway). Rather robberies will increase as criminals will now know that whilst people /may/ not have a gun on them, the culture of the server will mean most of time the person your robbing will have a firearm. People tend to seek out a firearm before robbing anything else, that's the high value target they want. This will lead to more questionable robberies, vigilantism, and more CKs of both criminals and civilian roleplayers for fail roleplay whilst being held at gunpoint.

So is the answer to this to give every single person on the street more guns? I guess they say an armed society is a polite one, but we both know more guns are simply going to further the deathmatching problem rather than alleviate it.

I mean gun access are limited for civilians because generally they're used in quite an odd fashion, the waves of vigilantism are eyebrow raising and everyone (especially characters which really shouldn't be) become heroes when given a gun. In a perfect world, a gun is a vehicle for roleplay, this is where the illegal scene derives interesting roleplay from, being criminals and all. I don't think expanding gun access would be healthy for the server, even if it makes the system more realistic, the current gun restrictions and drug restrictions IC are already a stone throw away from California's policies.

admins respond to what they can, probably most crazy stuff happens around peak times when there's several ongoing crazy report situations going on at a time, and where admins may be trying to roleplay in those few hours of peak themselves. whilst you can probably argue the quick report answer card is to be friends with an admin, it's generally a little difficult due to bias rules for admins to do much more than flip their friends car (and car flip reports get taken in seconds generally). as an admin myself ive waited over two hours for my own breakin to be accepted, so it's not exactly like people see green name and take the report. yes admins are volunteers so shouldn't be forced, but yes admins also did choose to volunteer /for this role/, so we have an obligation to try and sort out reports in a good time. stacking reports are alerted on discord for admins to chop down, and we're meant to drop roleplay unless we're in a critical critical situation and take reports if they're urgent (I tend to drop my RP immediately for mass DM or R19 violations), and I know many other admins do too as mentioned by other staff and management, these topics are spoken about a lot and there's been a lot of encouragement and pointing towards issues about slow report taking within the staff chats, and it's being worked on to my knowledge on the levels above me

On a somewhat related point, I wonder what people think about admin jails as a whole. Coming from a community where these things didn't exist, they're rather peculiar and seem a relic of past communities rather than an effective part of administrative responses.

Oh, alright! I misinterpreted your point. I agree, I think people should be able to report what they want. 'Bad-faith' reports is a term that can be applied to basically anything that's semi-controversial. The handling admin can simply go through, if no action needs to be taken, then no action will be taken.

Then who exactly will decide whether something is bad faith...?
