  1. Duplicate.
  2. Moved to the correct area. Have you done /setmainphone? Which phone did you buy? Contract or PAYG?
  3. As you were told on your last topic, you need to fill out an application to get in game.
  4. @Sotario what was the solution, just so other people experiencing similar issues may have some insight?
  5. A lot of the radio stations don't work. Try several others and see if any of them work. I know for a fact that 97 works, so just test it and report back.
  6. You haven't submitted an application. You need to go on ucp.gta.world and fill out the application form.
  7. I don't see a productive discussion coming from this, so I'm going to outright lock this thread now. As I told someone who was asking this very same question in game, the advertisement rules are abundantly clear on what is and what isn't allowed. It goes without saying that some of them slip through the net and nothing is done about it at the time - it doesn't mean that it's being endorsed. Odds are, given the amount of additional chat staff members have on their screen, that the advertisement was simply overlooked.
  8. Locked and archived; let us know if you still haven't resolved the issue.
  9. Does anybody else have access to your network? You're linked directly to a banned account that didn't even get past the application stage dated June 20, 2019.
  10. If you're CKed by someone who has applied for it, you get a free namechange the first time around - after that you need to pay for your namechange. If you're CKed because you didn't sufficiently roleplay fear in a situation, such as what you're hinting at, you don't get a free namechange - you must pay for one or delete the character and make a new one.
  11. If there's one thing that needs dressing up on the server, it's certainly the drug script. Having roleplayed heavily around cocaine on one of my characters, I can attest that the script doesn't provide much incentive to use it. You get a meagre health boost which oft times is bugged, disappears when you crash/log out, and a pretty effect that lasts less than a couple minutes. There certainly needs to be more flavour when it comes to drugs and I imagine that some of the ones you've suggested could be implemented. One thing in particular that I'd like to see is the ability for players to craft their own drugs (like methamphetamine) through a series of cook processes - similar to the system in place for making booze - whereby the player will need a cook site and an array of ingredients. With that in mind, there should be something in place to gauge the strength of a drug - as well as the ability to dilute it (e.g. cutting cocaine down for a higher quantity and lower strength). This might diversify the drug market in game and encourage people to roleplay around drugs. It'll certainly benefit the gangs who deal with these drugs day to day and potentially allow for a fluctuation of price in drugs. As it stands, most people have a set price for drugs and there's no real differentiation between Jamal's home grown weed from Davis or Juan's weed in El Burro. Adding strength and the ability to cut drugs for a higher quantity will allow for people to establish a brand and charge varying prices for either stronger or weaker drugs. I'm at a loss on what kind of incentives can be provided for drug use and I don't really want to have the sole bonus be a health boost - since it would be abused, but it goes without saying that stronger drugs would provide a longer duration of whatever benefit there is and weaker drugs the opposite.
  12. Yeah, Tekla Structures predominantly.
  13. This perfectly sums up why none of what you suggested is feasible and outlines the procedures already in place to combat the problems you pointed out. Same goes for the concept of forcing people to roleplay disease based on a random chance. That's something that the player should opt to roleplay, as opposed to being forced to. Players are free to roleplay diseases if they choose to do so - there doesn't need to be a script for it.
  14. I can appreciate the general idea, but as someone already mentioned - this absolutely isn't how it works in real life and isn't anywhere close to realistic. A lot of goods are imported, not manufactured locally - especially weapons and vehicles. That means there's options to explore logistically at the very least, as these goods need transporting naturally. I'm not particularly fond of the idea of creating more jobs that would essentially become options for players to just grind for cash - like the miner job. However, the general idea of the suggestion has some merit. I imagine the trucking job could be expanded upon to create supply chains that are actually relevant and realistic; e.g. truckers transport lumber to a mill for money, the lumber is then processed into goods such as construction material, furniture, etc. This creates another level in the supply chain. Truckers can then transport the manufactured goods to their respective recipients for either further processing or it could be the end of the supply chain. This would be an example of a realistic representation of the type of goods that *are* plausibly manufactured locally. Though I'm dubious about creating jobs surrounding these aspects (e.g. lumber mill workers) for the reason I already mentioned. EDIT: Regarding food and drink, I'd rather leave it down to players to roleplay around it as they feel - rather than forcing an RPGish hunger/thirst bar reflecting my character's status. The community I came from had a similar system of hunger, which proved to be more disruptive to role play rather than encouraging it; it wasn't a rarity for a scene to be paused because someone was losing health to hunger.
  15. You are right in saying that there is room for improvement. The fact that you haven't had a response to this day for an application you sent in points to an obvious flaw in the system. You should be receiving feedback, good or bad, to help you improve upon the idea you've presented. This is what we should be discussing in this thread, as opposed to suggesting the outright removal the application stage for a faction to launch their thread. Coming from a community where such a system doesn't exist, I've seen the havoc that can be caused when people have free reign to just launch a faction and jump straight in without any further thought. Even factions that are completely unrealistic (example; British football hooligan firms) were allowed to post a thread. It's very daunting for a new player to check out what there is to explore faction wise and be presented with 100 faction threads - most of which only offer a small member base due to the sheer number of them. It's far better to have a limited amount of threads and encourage lesser experienced people to join them instead of forming their own on a whim. On that note, with new players in mind, faction leaders play a huge role in guiding people and influencing their role play. If you have a garbage faction, with a leader who doesn't really care for realism, they ultimately influence the people that they bring into their faction and impact the server negatively. It's far better to have prospective factions and their leaders vetted before they're allowed to publicly post their thread and garner attention. The whole Los Santos = Los Angeles argument is a debate for another thread. But yes, realism is important for a game that's emulating real life and has rules that reflect that. However, ruling out factions, like the DTO you mentioned, is a bit excessive in my opinion. As long as the person leading the faction has their ethos aligned with the server, they've done their research and they're willing to put in the work and contribute to the server for the better - then the fact that such a gang doesn't exist in real life shouldn't rule it out completely. tldr; the application stage is important in ensuring that quality is maintained - however there are obvious issues that should be looked into and improved upon. Removing the application stage is not one of them. EDIT: quick edit as a thought came to mind; there are a lot of people out there with extensive knowledge on criminal organizations that play the server, but don't wish to be staff members. Having a staff only vetting team for faction threads, which sounds like it's undermanned from what you've said, ultimately limits manpower and knowledge within the team. I'm wondering whether a mixed team of knowledgeable players and staff members who can read these applications and vet them is the way forward? An immediate benefit to such a team would be more streamlined avenues of communication between staff and the players when it comes to faction management.
  16. Project Engineer in the structural steel industry, so a bit of everything; help out with pricing occasionally, complete 3D modelling of a job, procure materials for said job and survey the site if necessary.
  17. I've never understood the fascination with entry fees. It strips away what could be flavorful roleplay between, say, a club patron paying a doorman for entry to the club. I've never been a fan of the whole magical barrier that prevents you from entering without having enough money, or the fact that it's stripped from you without any interaction; sometimes the entry fee doesn't even show up. In cases with pawnshops and other miscellaneous stores, it doesn't make sense to have an entry fee at all - how often do you have to pay at the door to enter a general store? I'd argue that clubs and bars that want to charge an entry fee should have someone on the door to collect it - or alternatively, set up a booth just inside where people pay. Having said that, I can foresee people running past and just sauntering inside without paying being problematic - so I don't know how feasible it would be if we were relying solely on the good nature of the players.
  18. It's very much common sense. If you need to go AFK for 10-15 minutes, that's fine - but if you're going AFK for an extended period of time you should just simply log off. Going AFK for hours on end just to farm paychecks is obviously not allowed and if you're caught doing it you will be sanctioned. On that note, I'm locking this.
  19. I'd argue that this falls under common sense. This is a role play server, so if you're logging in game it should be to role play - not stand in your house AFK to collect paychecks.
