  1. Gary "Tario" Menendez Height: 6'1 Weight: 165 Lbs Gender: Male Race: Hispanic Gary Menendez had a 'troubled' upbringing to say the very least. Born into the low income gangland neighborhood of Jamestown, Gary quickly learned at a young age that he didn't have a life like the kids he saw on television. Instead of playing with action figures or making castles in sandpits, Gary saw drug deals and people getting beat within an inch of their life. Gary's parents Alejandro and Lola tried their hardest to provide what little opportunity they could to Gary, he went to school for a while and even learned some basic math and English before his parents couldn't afford to keep him in school and longer and had him pulled. When Gary turned 13 his Father delivered the worst news possible to the family, he was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer. Gary took the news extremely hard, he recoiled from all of his friends and spent most of his time during that period in his room or working on the scrapheap of a car that his Dad bought him from the junkyard for his birthday. A year and a half went by and Alejandro's condition continued to worsen to the point that he spent nearly all of the week in a hospital bed, this caused a large amount of stress on Lola and Gary, not just financially but mentally. Eventually after 2 years of fighting off the cancer for as long as he could, Alejandro passed in a hospital bed in the late evening, Gary took the news probably the hardest out of anyone, his attitude further worsened as time went on after his fathers funeral. He refused to talk to anyone except his mother, he would spend hours in the garage continuing to work on the car, staring at the photo of himself and Alejandro while doing so, he would eventually hang the photo from his rear view mirror. Eventually at the age of 15, Gary became less of a recluse and more open with others around him, although his attitude was still present. In order to support the family and ease the burden off his mother, Gary had taken to dealing drugs in the Jamestown varrio in order to help ends meet. He didn't very much enjoy standing on the corner for long periods of time, or listening to the other residents call him a 'Loner' but he did what needed to be done in order to survive, after a while Gary befriended one of his usual suppliers, Javier. Javier's jovial and lax attitude paired well with Gary's rather cold and calculated attitude and the two quickly became accustomed to one another. Javier, being the elder made sure that Gary had a supply of stuff to sell and in return, Gary would get the job done and return to Javier for a cut. Eventually Gary finished working on the car his father had bought him, it's been said that Gary treasures the car as one of his most cherished possessions and continues to work on it to this day, continually modifying it and adding new touches, but one thing remains the same; the photo of his father and himself is still there.
